Sounds like a marvelous time, Deb. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I don't either but I have a $50 gift card for there. I can use it without membership but then I have to pay the balance opp. If I head over there I could grab one for you too, if you want.

I teach from 10-11:30 and 3:00-5:30 tomorrow... not too bad! If you go and I am not teaching, I would go with you. But, if you go and I AM teaching and you have the time and ability to buy a second one we would love one. That is my birthday present to myself! Let me know, OK? And, thanks for the offer, Tammi. :goodvibes

It looks like my family is finally in the air. they left on ME at 6 PM for a 9 PM flight. That was delayed an hour and 15 minutes. They were delayed an hour going down. I'm sure they are all exhausted by now.

I think I'm heading to bed now myself. I can use a good nights sleep. I'll try to check in in the morning. I don't think we are doing anything until our 11 AM ADR at Kona. Can't wait for my Tonga Toast. Yum

Ditto! :wizard: :wizard:

Doctors are REALLY against removing tonsils in all but the most severe cases. It has been like that for the past 15 years or so. One of my friends worked for a family where the mom was ADAMANT about having her DDs tonsils out, even though the pediatrician said the surgery was absolutely NOT indicated. The mom went through all sorts of doctors until she found an allergist who agreed to take them out - it ended up being horrible for the little girl. The surgery is very bloody and I guess the general consensus is that unless the tonsils are obstructing the child's airway or they are constantly infected the Drs prefer to leave them in.

The sad thing is that for many people that is the relief they need. My sister suffered for years for the same reason. She did have some problems after the surgery for a day or two (because she was an adult when they took them out). However, she hasn't had all the problems since. What's especially sad is that they are so adamant they don't have people go see a specialist who is better able to make the determination.

I still have mine as well :thumbsup2

I used to have severe earaches as a toddler. I guess it was so bad that puss would come out of my ears. I had my tonsils out when I was 4. I remember being in the hospital and getting popsicles. I haven't had problems since.

Hello All

We are having a great vacation. We've been so busy that we have not had internet access at all until tonight. We sent the family off to the airport at 6 PM so we are hanging out here tonight catching up on bills and photopass etc. The weather has been wonderful with very little rain. My family behaved well and we survived with limited stress. I must say that it was much more tiring than when it's just the 5 of us. I didn't even take notes or write my nightly trip report. I have a feeling that a trip report may not happen as my recollection of events fades quickly and one day runs into another.

Vicki has the link to our photopass photos so hopefully she will find time to share if you care to see the photos. There are over 800 on there now, but as I've started to look through them I realized that some are duplicates. I emailed photopass to see if they can delete the doubles without losing any others. We'll see how that works out.

Prayers and/or pixie dust to those that need it. I don't have time to catch up or really read at all. Is there anything that I should know?

Congratulations to Amy and Kevin. Jen told me that Noah was a little firecracker

Here is the link to Deb's photopass pictures.

ETA: I think it is working now. Let me know if you have problems getting to them.

Well, I'm off to bed. Prayers & pixiedust: for all who need it. I worked until about 1/2 hour ago so I'm exhausted and don't remember what I read.

Tom continued :wizard: for your mom!

Hi Deb, so glad you popped in! sounds like you are all having a great time. I have looked at 300 of your pictures so far & they are great. I love the ones from the photo shoot, you have some really good shots there :thumbsup2 I just have to ask, how bad is the heat & humidity?

Vicki thanks for posting the link, hope you get a good nights sleep!

Marci good luck to Andrew tomorrow night! Riley & his team have their 1st tournament game tomorrow night at 8pm. Luckily these ones are here, so no traveling this time!

Gotta run to the store for diapers (like, today ) so this won't be a long post. I hope you all are doing well!

Deb, thanks for stopping in! I can't wait to hear more about your vacation and see your pictures! I hope you all aren't melting! :teeth:

Tom, continued prayers for your mom.

All of you getting Wii fit are really going to push me over the edge :rotfl: I don't have the money though, if I want to stay with these girls! Stop it! ;)

Elizabeth, I said an extra prayer for your family for peace yesterday. I'm sorry to hear the news wasn't great, but I hope that having a plan going forward is comforting, and that they can keep things under control as much as possible.

All this tonsil talk makes me chuckle, and I must make a confession about my own .... ignorance? Lack of common sense? When I was about 3, there was some "open house" or something at a new hospital nearby. There was a kids program where you could tour the hospital, etc. I remember very clearly (and have pictures, etc) of me and my doll - in matching outfits, no less - lying in a hospital bed, ID bracelet and all, eating popsicles. When I was about 14, I told someone I had had my tonsils out and my mom said, "Um... no you didn't". I recalled to her the entire story, pulled out the pictures and the ID band, argued with her, and was completely adamant that we were at the hospital that day for a tonsillectomy. Of course, she just had me open my mouth (mind you, I was always a fairly intelligent child, book-wise :rotfl: ), pointed out my tonsils (still intact) and embarrassed the snot out of me in front of whomever I was talking to at the time. :rotfl: Since then, my ENT has prompted me to get them removed because they make me sick all the time, as well as get tonsiloliths (stones) all the time, etc. Everytime it comes up, I am a little embarrassed all over again, and my mom never lets me live it down. :rolleyes1

Off to run some errands while the girls are not starving. Ooh - speaking of which (seriously, what happened to the short post), they are both growing so well! Elise is up to 7lb, 13oz and Avery is up to 6lb, 11oz. How are they getting so big so quickly?! Still, I suppose we're thrilled! ;)

Take care, DDA!

me too, Elizabeth.

Thank you! :)

Marci good luck to Andrew tomorrow night! Riley & his team have their 1st tournament game tomorrow night at 8pm. Luckily these ones are here, so no traveling this time!

Good luck to the DDA boys in their baseball games!! :wizard: :wizard:

Marci - Mom is a little worried about the port. I need to do some research on it because what she was telling me didn't sound right. I did talk to her last night, and other than some confusion on her Taxol dosing schedule I think we're all on the same page.

Deb - Glad you guys are having a great time! :thumbsup2

Mom said Ms. Selfish and her brood are supposed to come back in August for a weekend. I told Mom AGAIN that she should NOT be around toddlers during chemo. The oncologist said her counts won't get that low so she should be OK around them, but the infection risk is just one problem. The fatigue is the other problem. I don't have cancer, and Princess is a doll, but sometimes she wears me out! But nobody listens to me! :headache:

They told Mom she will have Neulasta injections to keep her blood counts up, but they also told her to expect bone pain. I can't imagine she will feel like cooking and cleaning for Ms. Selfish, but whatever. I better not get a call at WDW that Ms. Selfish's actions have landed Mom in the hospital and they need me to fly up and take care of everything.
