Thanks! The panels are from a fabric book kit from JoAnn's. They had Car's, Nemo and Buzz. I'm sure Emma would love them all but she already has Car's, Nemo and Buzz outfits and I really only want to take 2 suitcases with us AND I've got stuff I have to make for Lizzy & Joe and fabric for a bowling shirt for her so I've got pleanty to do in my next 7 weekends.

You are going to have such a great time!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hope you are all doing well. The wind is picking up, not sure if the rain is coming or not.

I need to get my butt in gear or none of my clothing will fit. I am in a funk of not wanting to do anything at work. Then I come home and do not do much either. I think it is all my weeks of craziness catching up with me. But I need to get in gear soon.

That being said I am enthused about Relay for Life and am thinking about taking on a committee position for next year.

I need to get to bed or I will never want to get up in the morning.

Night everyone.

I am in Lansing. It was a beautiful day for a drive. I even did a geocache on the way down. I moved a Travel Bug along on it's journey.

Elizabeth how is your mom?

Not good.
I took her to the doctor at noon. She looked AWFUL. The lady said the Dr. was running behind schedule. I told her Mom was VERY ill and needed to be seen NOW. They put her in a room and nobody looked at her until 1 PM. The Dr. said her breast looks OK. The big issue is that she hasn't had a bowel movement for 11 days. So he ordered blood work and an abdominal CT, and off we went to the hospital. I asked the Dr. if I should cancel my flight. He said if it was his mom, he would. And the whole time she looks horrible, she's grimacing, she's NOT in good shape. So I cancelled my flight.

They can't put a tourniquet on the arm on the side where her breast incisions are, so the girl in the lab had to draw blood from her hand (her "good" arm is all bruised, and they can't draw where there is bruising). She was almost crying (Mom, not the lab tech).
We got over to radiology and they called her back fairly fast, but then she had to drink this contrast liquid and wait for 45 minutes. By that time it was 4 PM. They brought her back out and put her on a gurney in a curtain area that they keep at -57 degrees. My teeth were chattering. Mom had blankets, but since she has fever she was freezing WITH the blankets. A nurse did finally give me a blanket, too.

The radiologist came out and told us she could go home because she doesn't have a bowel obstruction. He said the surgeon was prescribing some oral antibiotics because she has fluid in her uterus that might be the source of the infection elevating her white cell count. When the nurse came to take Mom's IV out Mom was telling her that all she wanted was for somebody to address the constipation, because that was her main reason for being there. I decided I was NOT going to take her back home without SOMEBODY doing SOMETHING about it. So I called the surgeon and told them I wasn't leaving the hospital.

By that time Mom's actual surgeon was back in the office - before that we had been dealing with the other partners. She looked at the CT and the blood work and said she would admit Mom overnight for IV antibiotics and enemas (sorry, TMI) to treat the constipation. Hopefully her white count will even out and she can come home tomorrow. They were JUST getting her IV started at 9 PM, and they were going to start her other "procedure" shortly thereafter.

So DH is not working tomorrow (not quite sure how they will handle that in payroll), my friend is still covering for me with Princess, I am here with Diva and I am scheduled to go home on a flight at 9:30 tomorrow night.

Pixie dust, good thoughts, prayers, whatever, all welcome.

I am exhausted and my back is a mess. Even if my back wasn't messed up this morning it would be now from all the hospital chairs! :headache:

Elizabeth it is a good thing you are there and you are being an advocate for your mother. Even if she doesn't tell you how much she appreciates it, I'm sure that she does. You are where you need to be and DH and DS will be fine. :wizard: :wizard:

I do add milk to the soup so it is not so thick & you can add a little bit of sour cream if you like. Told you it was nothing fancy, I go for easy :rotfl: I serve these over noodles.

Thanks Janet. But what goes into the sauce? Is it only cream of mushroom soup?

Tammi congratulations to Nicholas! Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you.

Elizabeth I am so glad you are there with your mother & bravo for standing your ground at the hospital. Sometimes we know what is best & have to make sure the Dr's take notice & remedies the situation.

I hope your mother is feeling better tomorrow, hugs & prayers for you all. I will be thinking of you

I totally agree.

Just take care of your back Elizabeth.

Unbelievable. Does noone have any empathy for how your Mom is feeling? Seems like a bit of "not my job/problem" attitude from some of the folks your Mom saw today. Glad you pushed for her to get some help. Hope she responds to the antibiotic quickly and gets some relief from her other issues too.

Hope your back doesn't get any worse!:wizard:

Nice job Bernadette!
Thanks!

I agree with this 100%! Lots and lots of :wizard: and

I am so sorry to hear this, Elizabeth. Your Mom (and you) will be in my thoughts today. I hope there is major improvement in her condition so you can come back home tonight.
