Bernadette - your sewing creations are still so fun to see. I know your kids have to love them!

Deb - I hope you get lots done today so you can feel even more excited about your upcoming trip. :) I teach only 2 1/2 days more this week and then we are out of here too!

Not good.
I took her to the doctor at noon. She looked AWFUL. The lady said the Dr. was running behind schedule. I told her Mom was VERY ill and needed to be seen NOW. They put her in a room and nobody looked at her until 1 PM. The Dr. said her breast looks OK. The big issue is that she hasn't had a bowel movement for 11 days. So he ordered blood work and an abdominal CT, and off we went to the hospital. I asked the Dr. if I should cancel my flight. He said if it was his mom, he would. And the whole time she looks horrible, she's grimacing, she's NOT in good shape. So I cancelled my flight.

They can't put a tourniquet on the arm on the side where her breast incisions are, so the girl in the lab had to draw blood from her hand (her "good" arm is all bruised, and they can't draw where there is bruising). She was almost crying (Mom, not the lab tech).
We got over to radiology and they called her back fairly fast, but then she had to drink this contrast liquid and wait for 45 minutes. By that time it was 4 PM. They brought her back out and put her on a gurney in a curtain area that they keep at -57 degrees. My teeth were chattering. Mom had blankets, but since she has fever she was freezing WITH the blankets. A nurse did finally give me a blanket, too.

The radiologist came out and told us she could go home because she doesn't have a bowel obstruction. He said the surgeon was prescribing some oral antibiotics because she has fluid in her uterus that might be the source of the infection elevating her white cell count. When the nurse came to take Mom's IV out Mom was telling her that all she wanted was for somebody to address the constipation, because that was her main reason for being there. I decided I was NOT going to take her back home without SOMEBODY doing SOMETHING about it. So I called the surgeon and told them I wasn't leaving the hospital.

By that time Mom's actual surgeon was back in the office - before that we had been dealing with the other partners. She looked at the CT and the blood work and said she would admit Mom overnight for IV antibiotics and enemas (sorry, TMI) to treat the constipation. Hopefully her white count will even out and she can come home tomorrow. They were JUST getting her IV started at 9 PM, and they were going to start her other "procedure" shortly thereafter.

So DH is not working tomorrow (not quite sure how they will handle that in payroll), my friend is still covering for me with Princess, I am here with Diva and I am scheduled to go home on a flight at 9:30 tomorrow night.

Pixie dust, good thoughts, prayers, whatever, all welcome.

I am exhausted and my back is a mess. Even if my back wasn't messed up this morning it would be now from all the hospital chairs! :headache:

Prayers & pixiedust: that all improves for your mom today so that she can come home. :grouphug: for you!

Can you believe that I have NOT missed getting up at 0'dark thirty and sitting in traffic for an hour to get to work? Oh well, 2 more days.

Nicholas had another bball game tonight. They won, 11-1. He played well and seems to enjoy it. I said to Bob that Nicholas is smiling more when he plays bball than he does when he plays soccer. Bob said it's because he's exhausted from running up and down the soccer field and that he is too tired to smile.

So 2 more days of work, a vet appt for the doggies tomorrow night, bball game on Wed, and then we are heading to my parents' on Thursday. Bob is going with us and we plan on a visit to Kennywood on Friday and maybe a Pittsburgh Pirates game Sat. night. We will come home on Monday.

Ok, enough prattle from me for one night. I need to get my behind to bed. :wizard: and  to you all!

Since I missed a lot for a couple weeks, are you finishing your one week off, or the 3 weeks?

I only have one more night of work then I'm on vacation :cool1: :cool1:

Woohoo!

Elizabeth, how are things going this morning?

Thank you! I caught so much grief for this. 4 days without makeup... and when cameras and visitors are everywhere?! I'm not sure what they expected me to do!

Seriously though, pack your back soon so that it might hold off Noah's arrival.... at least until Thursday or so

Seriously bad timing, ladies! Last night, for the first time post-partum, I had a taste of the potential hormone drama to come. Thankfully, it wasn't rage or insanity... but I cried my eyes out that the first week has gone by so quickly. Then all this talk about years going by just as fast? .... aack! I'm in trouble....

Are we on for Thursday? I managed to get a meal made for you yesterday, and it's in the freezer, so if we need to postpone, no problem! :)

Just read your blog...Kyle did good, even though he made it an even more emotional day! :goodvibes

I got an early start today, feels good to get out early. Maybe I should try it more often lol I took Camy to the vet to get shaved(she was not a happy camper), went grocery shopping, swept the floors, dusted, & I have laundry going.

Yea me for trying to be productive

With the kiddos, getting out "early" means about 10 a.m. :rotfl:

Yay for being productive!

Today I have exactly :dance3:  3 weeks till I have Dega in my hands. if thats who i get. dad goes for pre op stuff Wednesday morning. and i got tons of stuff i need to get done. ugh. well off to start some of it.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

All 3 of the kids have had a tough of this wierd virus thing. They seem better but still not 100%.

Here's what I spent my weekend making for Emma.

I hope the kiddos are feeling closer to 100% today.

That's my favorite creation of yours yet, but I'm a little biased, because that's the theme of Matty's birthday party. ;)

Yay for Nicholas!

Busy, busy! Hope you have nice weather and a pleasant drive.

Prattle is a great word, by the way. :teeth:

So where is everyone tonight?:confused3 I thought I'd come home to a few pages anyway.

I only have one more night of work then I'm on vacation :cool1:

Woo hoo! :cool1:

Last night, I went out to dinner with a friend, and then spent an hour at Target by myself. Heavenly!

Not good.

Pixie dust, good thoughts, prayers, whatever, all welcome.

I am exhausted and my back is a mess. Even if my back wasn't messed up this morning it would be now from all the hospital chairs! :headache:

I hope today is a much better day, for both you and your mom! :wizard:  :wizard:  :wizard:

I need to get my butt in gear or none of my clothing will fit. I am in a funk of not wanting to do anything at work. Then I come home and do not do much either. I think it is all my weeks of craziness catching up with me. But I need to get in gear soon.

That being said I am enthused about Relay for Life and am thinking about taking on a committee position for next year.

I hope you can work through your funk. :wizard: Relay for Life is an excellent project to pour your energy into. I am so proud that my friends are still running the Pennies for Patients (Leukemia and Lymphoma sponsored) campaign I introduced to the high school. They got first in the nation this year!!!

I am in Lansing. It was a beautiful day for a drive.

Thanks for letting us know you're there safely! I hope you have a good week.

I also got a PM from Glynis. She promises to post soon.

Has anyone heard from Marci though?

I have a doctor's appointment at 1:30 p.m. today. I really hope I don't get carted off to the hospital, just yet. :)

I hope everyone has a great day! :wave2:

Are you sure your near the end of your pregnancy. I would have moved heaven and earth to deliver as early as possible. Pregnancy SUCKED!!!

Good luck at the Dr's today!

I have not seen Marci post in a while.

I want to set up payments for one of our credit cards and our cell phone. The statement closing dates were days ago and the statements still haven't been generated which means I can't make a payment yet. This is getting frustrating. I've only got a couple more days before we leave. If I can't set up payments before we leave I'll have to get internet early in the trip than I anticipated.

Good luck at the Dr's today!

Thank you!

I'm ready, but not ready! ;)

I'm really enjoying the water babies swim class with Matty, and I'd like to finish that out with him, because he's having such a good time.

My stepdad is off on some arctic adventure until June 29th, and I'm not sure my mom will come down alone. She witnessed both Alyssa's and Matty's births, and I don't want to break that tradition.

I have a whole list of other things to do, too, and I know in the scheme of things everything can be rearranged, etc. but since I'm not feeling too terribly physically, I'd just like Noah to stay put. :goodvibes

Of course, after some random stranger told me I was HUGE last night at Target, I wasn't exactly thrilled. :rotfl:

I was very impressed with Kyle! :) We are definitely on, unless Noah thinks otherwise. (PLEASE Baby Noah, not just yet! Your mommy has a few more things to do ;)) I just logged on to reply to your PM (finally).

Thank you!

I can't bear the thought of not hanging out with Jennifer one last time, before we're both homebound with a newborn or two (that is, until future play dates :)).

Do you have a color coded matrix of fun for Boston?

Bernadette, cute outfit.
Thanks!

Actually Lizzy was up in the middle of the night vomiting. Poor kid. She feels OK this morning and was upset that we won't let her in the pool for swimming lessons this morning.
