Oh my, please be careful when outside & drink plenty of water!

We are under an "excessive heat watch" from now until Monday, I think. the highs are supposed to be: 96, 102, 103, 99, 100, 95, 93. :faint:

We haven't used our AC yet either. We have window AC & Gary plans on putting them in this weekend. So far it has not been to bad, but I refuse to turn the oven on! I love my crockpot & roaster lol

There's a name for it? I haven't turned on my AC. It broke the end of last season and had to be "thawed" before it would start working again...I'm afraid to turn it on.

Morning DDA! IT'S FRIDAY!!! (and I don't work tomorrow, so it's really a Friday for me!!!) :rotfl:

Anne Marie (and anyone else who knows NYC), if John and I were to come to NYC for my 40th birthday in March, where would you suggest staying? Neither of us have ever been. We'd like a nice hotel close to a lot of stuff. We want to do all the touristy things: Empire State Bldg, Broadway show, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center site, Central Park, etc.

What else would you suggest to do? Is Tavern on the Green really good? I still have all the brochures you sent me too. Thanks!

Being so close to NYC I have never stayed over night so I cannot comment on the actual quality of a hotel. However I do suggest (as elin mentioned) to stay in Times Square as it is centrally located & tourist safe. You can walk to the theater, restaurants, Empire State building (I would also suggest Top of the Rock - Rockefeller Building on 5th to view the city).

You could walk to Central Park from Times Square however it is a long walk & in March it will probably be cold so you may want to take a cab.

The Statue of Liberty & WTC are downtown so thats definately a cab ride.

Anne Marie & Chanon I got all of our ADR's for Dec. & for the times we wanted :thumbsup2

Today my oldest turned 37 years old. My how time flies. I remember after my water breaking and 10 hours later, they finally did a c-section. Then it took a day and a half to see him. Gotta love military hospitals.

On Saturday Hal and I celebrate 39 years of marriage. Time really flies :lmao: :lmao:

Happy Anniversary to you both!
Happy Birthday to your DS!

:jumping1: party: :jumping1: party:

I guess I'm the one on the left then...since I seem to be lower than everyone else. :teeth: :rotfl:

I ordered our invites!!! Talk about scary! (Did I proofread? Pick the correct lettering? Hit the button for someone to double check me since I second guess myself so much? :rotfl: ) Should have them within a week!

pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust: :wizard:

I have a huge favor to ask. Could you shoot a little pixie dust towards central PA for my DD? She has a really important test to take tomorrow. She studied for a year, took the study courses, has the flash cards, read the books. I think she's ready, but pixie dust most certainly wouldn't hurt.:) :)

That's it I am moving to VA. Where do you suggest?

Happy birthday and anniversary.

Terry - happy bday to you ds and happy anniversary to you and Hal!

Elizabeth - I'm so glad you have things ironed out for your mom's surgery.

:wizard: for you and your mom.

Are you sure you don't live here instead of there?
Of course they don't call it excessive here. They call it normal. :rolleyes1

Our A/C runs continuously. DH and I had the discussion last night about what to make for dinner so we wouldn't have to turn the oven on. I put chicken in the fridge to thaw around noon yesterday, and he put pork chops in to thaw later, so hopefully tonight and tomorrow we won't have to bake anything.

Yay for ADRs!! :dance3:

Momboss e-mailed that it shouldn't be a problem for me to have off, so I am definitely all set. I wish I could be there the actual day of the surgery, but this will have to do.
