Wow, I never heard of that. Thanks for sharing Heidi.

Ditto -- a very scary story. I had never heard of it either.

We have an appt at 9:30am tomorrow to Euthanize my kitty, Jitters. I am a wreck. I got him 16 years ago when I was in Graduate school. I've never loved a cat like this. He has Feline AIDS, is down to 4 or 5 pounds, isn't eating well, is having potty accidents, and walks very gingerly. He just doesn't seem happy. I know it's the right thing to do, but I have been crying non-stop.

I need some help on how to tell the kids. They adore Jitters. I want to make sure they are ok too. I am bringing him home to bury him in the backyard under the bird feeder, and we'll have a funeral.

Hugs to all of you today.

Ah! Then I am recalling correctly that if the majority of kids are free/reduced that the "full price" kids still get a discount! DS won't even buy milk because it takes so long to get through the line. He takes an organic juice pouch in his lunchbox. I don't know how much anything costs through the school. :confused3

My mom's surgery is June 17. I am working on getting the last few details in place so I can go up there from June 19-23.

Are they waiting until surgery to see if they need to do a lumpectomy or masectomy? There is a huge difference in the recovery of those two surgerys, but I know you've done your research and are already aware. I'm glad you got everything worked out to go up there for a few days.

Colby seems to be fine now. He was really ill for about 4 hours this morning then started to feel better. He took a 2 hour nap this afternoon and is full of energy now. He seems to be making up for being quiet this morning. Nick is running full steam today too. Thankfully it's almost bedtime for the boys.

I'm glad they are both feeling better. Sending more PD that everyone feels great today.

Today my oldest turned 37 years old. My how time flies. I remember after my water breaking and 10 hours later, they finally did a c-section. Then it took a day and a half to see him. Gotta love military hospitals.

On Saturday Hal and I celebrate 39 years of marriage. Time really flies :lmao: :lmao:

Happy birthday to your DS, and happy anniversary to you and Hal. What great role models for your kids!

Hello DDA!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I sure hope everyone is doing fine. :wizard: :wizard: to all in need. I'm quite a number of pages back, but I fixed a good friend's computers and then he took me to dinner, so I'm just getting home.

I have a huge favor to ask. Could you shoot a little pixie dust towards central PA for my DD? She has a really important test to take tomorrow. She studied for a year, took the study courses, has the flash cards, read the books. I think she's ready, but pixie dust most certainly wouldn't hurt.:) :)

Thanks! Now I'm going to catch up a bit and go to bed. I want to get up early tomorrow so I can make sure she has a good breakfast and then wish her well.  :dance3:

Sending lots of PD for your DD.

I have an admin out and the other one isn't trained yet, so today and Monday will be very busy. We're busy as usual this weekend with baseball lessons, swim lessons, a tournament for Jake, a bat mitzvah and errand running for our trip. I still don't have the list of times for the tours -- they had sent me the capitol tour info, but forgotten the rest of the tours and I haven't heard back from them yet.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning DDA

The kids are on vacation today. Yesterday was the last day of school. Now the fun starts as everyone will be trying to get their kids registered for camp that starts on Monday. They have only had since April to do this!!!! :rotfl2: :headache:

I guess I'm the one on the left then...since I seem to be lower than everyone else. :teeth: :rotfl:

I ordered our invites!!! Talk about scary! (Did I proofread? Pick the correct lettering? Hit the button for someone to double check me since I second guess myself so much? :rotfl: ) Should have them within a week!
I'm sure it all will be perfect!

Where are you staying, Marci? What all do you plan on seeing?

Thanks for the info. It looks like you need to get there early, which isn't likely to happen as we will arrive on Saturday sometime :confused3. The 1300 mile drive leaves a bit to be desired as far as time goes. There are lots of potential character meetings, but I wonder how many we would actually meet? I think I'm still better off using blank pages then making them when we get back. It will save me a lot of stress time too. With 3 weeks to go I'm sure I won't have time to create all those pages.

We are expecting hot temps here too, but they haven't reached us yet. It's 54 degrees here now. They originally were predicting 88 degrees for the high today, but I see that has now change to 80 degrees. The temps will increase to the mid 90s by Sunday. It would be nice to see the sun shine though. Yesterday was completely overcast and in the 60s. Today is has been rainy so far.

Everyone seems healthy again today so maybe we are on the mend ::yes::

I've got lots to do so I guess I'd better get moving on laundry.

TTYL

Marci - Her surgeon THINKS they can get by with lumpectomy, so they are going in with that plan. IF her nodes are positive then they may go for mastectomy, which would mean an overnight hospital stay. When she goes in for her pre-op stuff they are going to inject dye into the nodes so when she's in the OR they can figure out what to do. I guess if the nodes are negative but they are having trouble getting clean "margins" around the tumor it could still be a mastectomy. Either way I think she will be shocked by the limited mobility in her arm afterwards. Of course I tend to think in terms of worst case scenario, so anything better is an improvement!
Good luck getting the details in place for the trip!

I've got to get DS to the orthodontist. Chat with you all later!

Jitters went to sleep very peacefully at 10 am. I was with him, and he was so calm and purring. He had a good morning today and even wanted some loving. John and I were very happy to see a glimpse of his old self for a brief moment. We are burying him under the bird feeder in the backyard in a little while. I think he would like that spot. The kids are doing very well today with it too We are going out of town for John's 20th HS reunion today, so that will help keep us all busy. I am going to miss him desperately. This was only the 2nd pet John has ever had, and he is really upset. He "hated" cats before we got Jitters, and Jitters completely had John wrapped around his little paw. He was a really good kitty and gave us 16 fabulous years. Thanks for the prayers.

What type of dark transfer paper do all of you use?? I want to make our own transfer tees for the cruise.

Can one of you going to WDW soon look to see if you can find a Disney themed guitar strap?? They are rumored to exist at Rock n' Roller coaster. If you find one please call my cell phone. Thanks

Have great trips everyone who is leaving soon.

I have to head to Wal-mart today as I never made it yesterday.

I am home all day today.:cool1: But have to work tomorrow.

Sounds good, though John was looking at homes in Florida again.

Me too, I have also been looking in GA, SC, NC, AL. Or a tropical island in the middle of nowhere.

I want to be close enough to UCF so I could do short weekend trips. But also would like to be near to the mountains and ocean. Being close to WDW is just another plus.

I really should get moving, but feel like being a total bum. I have to get my passport photo done, so I can renew my passport and do some other things.

Denise-:wizard:  to you and your family.

Elizabeth your check is in the mail!

Thanks, Janet!! I'll be on the lookout for it. Our mail is oh-so-reliable, you know!

Becky - Enjoy your day off! I have no clue on the transfer paper.

Denise - I am sorry for your loss. Maybe in a few months your family can go to a shelter and choose a new kitty. Just try not to choose a demon cat like Arabella. :rolleyes1

The orthodontist said DS looks good. We get a 3 month break before his next appointment!

Since we were out I took DS for a haircut. Instead of the kids' haircut place I took him to "Sport Clips", which specializes in cuts for guys. He is too old for their "kid" package so he got the adult package - shampoo, warm towel compress for his face, haircut, and neck and shoulder massage. Not bad for $19! And now he is all spoiled and wants to go there every time. :rotfl2:

I can see why he would want to go back...I would too :rotfl: Sounds like a good day for you guys.

I've been plugging away all day, but haven't accomplished anything that I wanted too. I had planned to get all the chaulking done. When I started laundry I came to the realization that I had to actually take the time to put laundry away. Apparently just washing and folding it isn't enough as I had trouble getting through the door :rotfl: So I put the kids stuff away and then mine. Of course that led to me cleaning out my drawers and switching my summer and winter clothes away. At some point I need to do the kids stuff too. I've been pulling out summer stuff, but haven't put any winter stuff away which means the drawers and closets are jammed. I did manage to clean out the chemical cupboard under the sink too. I guess I should shower and get out of my pjs before the kids get off the bus ::yes::

Got the news that an uncle passed, but not the one I was talking about before, though it just a matter of time for him (he is back in the hospital).

Also my cousin that I posted a picture of her belly, just got the call that her water broke.

So in one day a family member passed and one will be born. (So goes the circle of life.)

Make that a half hour until work. :headache:

Hey, I actually saw the bottom of our dark laundry hamper today...for a second:lmao:

Denise I wondered if Jitters was going to have a good moment. I remember our one cat Gilmore was the same way. The vet cleaned him up and he was purring up a storm. It made it easier to see him that way instead of in pain.

Hal hated cats too until these guys came into our lives. He cried as much as the kids when Gilmore got sick and had to be put down.
