DDA Chapter 8

Robyn, I just forwarded you a code for Oriental Trading Co. to your hotmail account.

The milk seems fine, so we're off to a nearby pool with some friends. The Princeton kids get out of school today, so our local pool will open tomorrow, thank goodness. Of course, we have our OWN pool, but I won't go into details about that right now. :headache:

Have a great day DDA!

And get better sick kiddos!!!

I don't know if I told you that our area is hosting the National Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships. Swimmers will be coming from all over the country to compete. It is a big deal, and the first week of July is going to find me beside a pool 12 hours most days.

Laura's team missed qualifying for Nationals, but they were chosen to pre-swim. They swim before the qualified teams to make sure that the judges are basically scoring the same. She was excited enough about that. The older girls' team did qualify for Nationals. They were already down to 5, because one girl was injured. Then another girl felt that she couldn't give it the time commitment that was needed. So, Laura and her friend were asked to try to learn the routine to swim up with that team. Once a team qualifies, they can make changes to the team as long as at least 50% of the new team was swimming when they qualified. The best part is that it is a different coach than the one that Laura was having so many problems with. The new coach told her last night, that the two new girls are doing well, and she is sure that if they continue the same way, they will be swimming Nationals. This is also the coach and team that Laura will be swimming with next year, because she ages up.

Virginia is a lovely place to live. Especially when there aren't storms, tornados or 100+ temp. :rolleyes2 ;) :)

And when would that be, exactly? :confused3

Now I have been playing on the Disney website looking at rooms. Not that it matters since the stupid AP rates aren't out. :headache: I have decided that the system just randomly pulls things up. You can put the same search terms in and get different results. If I was going to WDW the week before we are actually going I would have a decent amount of choices! But I would be VERY tempted to book the tower room at the Contemporary, which costs more with a discount than WL at rack rate. But WOW! I would sure like that room! :rolleyes1
The regular site (not the AP part) is showing NO rooms at all at AKL for 8/10-8/14, and those are the dates we need a room, preferably with a discount. I guess if they are booked solid we won't be able to get an AP rate! I think I can still add 8/10 at SSR on points (because they are NEVER sold out) but we'll still need 3 nights of hotel. It will be quite the dilemma if CR has AP rooms. I don't think I will be able to resist! :rotfl2:

Wow sounds like some of you get out of school late! When does school start back up?

The Wednesday after Labor Day. This year is the earliest it can ever be...September 3rd.

School was originally scheduled through Friday, June 27th, so we must not have used a couple of our snow days. I thought that we were right up to the limit this winter, though.

ETA: Fall sports practiced start up on August 18th, so any Fall athletes have a shorter summer. I am hoping that the cross country coach won't have a big issue with Laura missing a week. He is usually ok.

I don't see you going that route, yet. Today is your anniversary though. ;) :teeth:

Happy Anniversary! I hope you and Kyle have a wonderful dinner at the Melting Pot! :goodvibes

Happy Anniversary, Jennifer & Kyle!

Hope Nick makes it through school ok today!

:wizard: for Colby!

:wizard: I hope the boys are back up to par soon!

:wizard: for Miles!

I hope Miles' ear is OK! :wizard:

JENNIFER & KYLE I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

No, but between the chaos on the floor the other day and the contractions and pressure (neither of which responded to any intervention) with BOTH storm systems this week, I'm a firm believer! Let's hope I get through dinner tonight, then labor can continue as quickly as it wants! We've been staving it off long enough.... :thumbsup2

ETA: And thank you! :teeth:

That kind of annoys me about the end of school. When Laura was in 6th grade, they had an entire week of exams in the morning followed by absolutely nothing in the afternoon, but they HAD to be in school all afternoon. One day four of us sent notes that the girls had appointments that afternoon and we were picking them up after exams. Laura really did have an orthodontist appointment but then we were going to lunch and shopping. The secretary in the main office really gave us problems when she found out that we weren't planning on bringing them back immediately after the appointment, but we held firm.

The high school that my mother works at is having graduation on the 12th. Then the seniors HAVE to go back to school for 4 more days due to snow days. Apparently they will not actually receive their diplomas at graduation, but will get them after the 4 make up days. Now what is the point in that. Exams are already done :confused3

Today would be a lovely day for you to welcome the girls into the room. Anniversary celebration with good food, take a bumpy road and a little turtle time to soften the cervix. Perfect plan ;)

I'll save you guys time. Ewwwwwww:rotfl2:

:wizard: :wizard: Best of luck to Laura. That sounds like a wonderful opportunity :wizard: :wizard:

Colby has been okay for a couple of hours. He is hungry now and insists that on cheetos will do. Yuck...I can only imagine the mess that will be coming :faint:

Back to the kitchen for me.

Hmm...turtle time has been off limits since pre-term labor started. That was just to keep it from continuing though! :rolleyes1

No, I mostly feel like death, with flu-like stuff that slammed into me yesterday afternoon. That would be a pretty impressive feat unless I start feeling better ;)

Some pictures of the living room. They turned out a little dark, but once the room is finished I will take more!

Our living room is small & this furniture makes it look even smaller, but I love it! All Gary has left is the baseboards & finishing the wall behind the couch. I still need to get some more wall hangings, but that will come in time.

Chris is infamous for telling everyone that we had more turtle time getting the boys out then we did putting them in there :rotfl: :rotfl: I was so sick I just wanted them out and I would do anything to move that along

Wow, that looks so nice. very upscale. Ours looks nothing like that :rotfl: We have a large room with even less furniture. One chair was starting to fall apart and I'm afraid to put it back in the room as I wouldn't want to scratch the floor :confused3 I also have not put anything on the wall yet. You should be proud of all your accomplishments :thumbsup2

Our school (or college) never gave out diplomas at graduation...always a piece of paper stating it will be mailed. There are always some seniors that seemed to be waiting for test results to come in from the state, or some teachers never competed their grading in time, so they quit giving them out.

Janet, the floors, walls, furniture and lights look amazing!

Yes they are.......the days I need them! I can't get ANY room at ANY dvc resort for Dec. 3-5.

Happy Anniversary Jennifer and Kyle!

The room looks great, Janet! Gary did an awesome job. Do you rent him out?

Congrats to Laura!

We leave just 3 weeks from tomorrow at o dark thirty in the morning. I'm very excited now, but still have a ton of things to accomplish. I know that I need to make a few new autograph book pages. Hopefully we'll start to see reports of Star Wars characters soon and I will know which to make. It might just be easier to take blank pages and get them signed and create a page when we get home  I did that with Bowler Hat Guy last year and you'd never know that the page was created after the fact.

I'm off to tackle my kitchen.

That's my plan for all my pages. I will have them sign a blank page with a black sharpie. I'll scan it so I have just the autograph. Then I'll design a page for the name for my scrapbook. Then I'll be able to do the same for the girls scrapbooks if they are interested.

Well, Chuck remembered to say Happy Anniversary when we first woke up this morning. I was bummed he beat me to it. I thought he was still sleeping. He asked if I minded that he hasn't gotten me a card since we have been so busy prepping for our trip. :lmao: Hmmm, Honey, I didn't have time to get you a card either! :rotfl: I told him I knew he didn't love me any less because I didn't get a card.
