Happy Anniversary to you and Chuck!

I didn't realize you 2 shared the date with Jennifer and Kyle.

Well, Chuck remembered to say Happy Anniversary when we first woke up this morning. I was bummed he beat me to it. I thought he was still sleeping. He asked if I minded that he hasn't gotten me a card since we have been so busy prepping for our trip. :lmao: Hmmm, Honey, I didn't have time to get you a card either! :rotfl: I told him I knew he didn't love me any less because I didn't get a card.

Happy Anniversary, Vicki and Chuck!!!

I had forgotten that we shared it with Jennifer & Kyle. It has been 26 years for Chuck and I. In two days, we'll have been together for 27 years.

Yes they are.......the days I need them! I can't get ANY room at ANY dvc resort for Dec. 3-5.

Hmm. If that is the case then I will just bank those last 20 points. There will come a time when I have to fish or cut bait on the waitlisted AKV night. If we can't get AKV and can't get SSR we'll bank and have 4 hotel nights in between instead of 3. That's how it is booked right now. July 31 is my banking deadline and we leave August 1, so I probably need to do whatever I am doing by July 25.
It chaps my fanny that CRO can have DVC rooms sitting empty but because of the way the inventory is designated we can't use points for them. There is a savannah view studio available for cash, but the dang thing is so expensive I don't want it! The SSR studios with the AP rate for June & July are cheaper than the DVC cash discount, by $20 per night. But even if the AP rates for August are lower I am not going to mess with my cash night at SSR. It is linked to our DXDDP and I don't want to fiddle with it.

So I survived the meeting today. :thumbsup2  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Enough said;)

Hope everyone had a great day.

I know you're relieved!

The restaurant was so slow tonight. I left early. Nick thinks he is feeling better. I'm not sure that the meds have completely worn off. I guess I won't give him a bedtime dose and see how he does during the night.

Chris fixed the wheel on our electric scooter so that is ready for our trip. We use that at the campground to run to the store etc.

We also attached the truck to the camper and checked all the lights. Everything looks A Okay. Some more things that we can cross off our to do list. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a lot done around here in terms of putting the house back together and putting items together for the trip. I think I finally have an entire day where I don't have to leave the house at all :cool1:

Here's PD for more progress!

I am trying to catch up on the TEN pages you all posted while I was at my convention today, but I had to comment on this. YourBob IS A GEM! A KEEPER! PRINCE AMONG MEN! I know how out of the way it is for him to do these things for you. I know you also do many things for him and Bethany... I am SO glad you found him. :goodvibes

I agree. What a sweetheart!

Amy - the pictures of the kids (and Kevin) are delightful!

Denise - your new bedroom looks wonderful.

Amy -- your kids are darling. I love seeing the updates. Matty is really looking more grown-up. Does he talk much about the baby?

Denise -- your br looks so elegant. I love it! It looks like a very peaceful retreat.

I have the lesser of two evils...the deep bone bruise....I've got the splint for another couple of days...and he resplinted it so it does feel better tonight.

there is something else that transpired on the way home.....I don't/can't go into it...I just would covet pixie dust and prayers this way.

I'm so sorry. Sending PD and prayers.

Thanks Tammi. Since we are staying DVC, I'll have free internet access so I'll be around. I didn't do as much as I wanted to but I think that I have done enough to make it extra special for them.

Have a Magical trip!

Nick was feeling better and insisted on going to school today. I would have given him another day at home, but he didn't want anymore work to make up. Of course Colby woke up at 5:30 with a tummy ache and has been running to the bathroom ever since. He seems to have it coming out both ends at this point. Thankfully I had planned to be home today so he can hang out on the couch and have me spoil him. He seems to like the extra attention as Nick did. He doesn't have a fever so there isn't much I can do for him other than hugs and sips of sprite.

I'm so sorry Colby isn't feeling well. Sending PD and prayers to him (and you!). I hope no one else gets it.

I don't see you going that route, yet. Today is your anniversary though. ;) :teeth:

Happy Anniversary! I hope you and Kyle have a wonderful dinner at the Melting Pot! :goodvibes

Happy Anniversary!

I don't know if I told you that our area is hosting the National Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships. Swimmers will be coming from all over the country to compete. It is a big deal, and the first week of July is going to find me beside a pool 12 hours most days.

Laura's team missed qualifying for Nationals, but they were chosen to pre-swim. They swim before the qualified teams to make sure that the judges are basically scoring the same. She was excited enough about that. The older girls' team did qualify for Nationals. They were already down to 5, because one girl was injured. Then another girl felt that she couldn't give it the time commitment that was needed. So, Laura and her friend were asked to try to learn the routine to swim up with that team. Once a team qualifies, they can make changes to the team as long as at least 50% of the new team was swimming when they qualified. The best part is that it is a different coach than the one that Laura was having so many problems with. The new coach told her last night, that the two new girls are doing well, and she is sure that if they continue the same way, they will be swimming Nationals. This is also the coach and team that Laura will be swimming with next year, because she ages up.

That is terrific news.

Some pictures of the living room. They turned out a little dark, but once the room is finished I will take more!

Our living room is small & this furniture makes it look even smaller, but I love it! All Gary has left is the baseboards & finishing the wall behind the couch. I still need to get some more wall hangings, but that will come in time.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Happy Anniversary!

Jake's allergies are bothering him. He's not been feeling well the last few days, but since I've had meetings I gave him meds and sent him to the babysitter and basketball camp. He always seemed to feel better after he was up for a while. Randy called me this morning that he was complaining about his throat, so I had him drop him at my work this morning and I took him to the ped so we can rule out strep (my sister's youngest had it last week and we are around them all of the time). It seems to just be allergies and he feels better after motrin and benadryl. He's happily playing on the floor of my office with blocks/tractors etc. It's kind of nice to have one-on-one time.

Orkin man never showed yesterday, so he's coming this afternoon. I'll have to be home by 3:30, then pick up Andrew at camp at 5, and get him dressed and out to the ballpark for his last rec game. Unfortunately, it's against my nephew's team (the first place team with 6 of the select team players).

We also might have a little rain today. I hope so, so the fields aren't as dusty. We've had 30 - 40 mph winds the last few days. And, when they gave the temp at 5:30 this morning, it was 82 degrees...

Have a great day everyone! :)

We just got back from GameStop & Target. DS bought himself a "Wii Points" card so now he is downloading games. At Target they were able to bend DS's frames back into shape, so we don't have to replace his glasses!
We bought a few groceries since Target was out of some of the things I wanted on Sunday. We finished the lunchmeat since we have all been eating lunch at home this week, so we got more of that.

Speaking of lunch at home...
Have you guys seen the thread on the Budget Board where the lady who gets free breakfast and reduced lunch for her kids during the school year is worried about feeding them all summer, yet they are going to DL next Spring? Interesting reading. :rolleyes1

Yay for the glasses!

I haven't read the budget board lately, so I haven't seen that thread. I can't imagine having a vacation planned if I truly was concerned about feeding my kids! The number of people over on their high horses who would never, ever use a credit card, etc. annoy me. What works for me financially, may not work for you.

I didn't realize we had two anniversaries celebrated on the same day!!
Congratulations!!

It's locked now. I read over there because sometimes people post really good sales before I find them myself! :rotfl2: I don't usually post on anything related to ACTUAL budgets, debt, etc. because things get out of hand.
I didn't post on that particular thread because it was a flame fest from about the 14th post. I am not sure how the whole thing works, but I know that 80% or more of DS's school is on that program. It seems like if DS bought his lunch he would pay a reduced price (even though we are way above the income guidelines) because so MANY of the kids get it for free. I seem to vaguely recall reading that somewhere. But he will only eat lunch from home, so it's not an issue. :rotfl2: Anyway, this lady was saying it like it was really going to cause a hardship for them over the summer, yet here is her trip ticker, big as day. :confused3

Found this on the CB, don't want to scare anyone but it needs to be read.

Wow! That is FREAKY! I have NEVER heard of that!

Janet, nice.

Janet, the house looks great!! :thumbsup2

Thank you all! I am very proud of Gary's handy work :)

Wow, that looks so nice. very upscale. Ours looks nothing like that :rotfl: We have a large room with even less furniture. One chair was starting to fall apart and I'm afraid to put it back in the room as I wouldn't want to scratch the floor :confused3 I also have not put anything on the wall yet. You should be proud of all your accomplishments :thumbsup2

Janet, the floors, walls, furniture and lights look amazing!

The room looks great, Janet! Gary did an awesome job. Do you rent him out?

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Janet, nice.

Our school (or college) never gave out diplomas at graduation...always a piece of paper stating it will be mailed. There are always some seniors that seemed to be waiting for test results to come in from the state, or some teachers never competed their grading in time, so they quit giving them out.

Janet, the floors, walls, furniture and lights look amazing!

Ours did the same thing, but not for academic reasons! You got a note saying you would get it, assuming all library fines, parking tickets, health center bills, etc were paid!

Happy Anniversary! I had also not realized we shared the day! :goodvibes Kyle already doesn't say Happy Anniversary or Happy Birthday any time remotely close to "first thing in the morning" :rotfl:

I bet it is good reading! I'm going to avoid it, but those are always entertaining...

Happy Anniversary Jennifer and Kyle!

Love this!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JENNIFER & KYLE

Jennifer, Happy Anniversary.

Thanks!

I know what you mean. All of the lunches in our school district are partially subsidized even if you pay "full" price. I don't think many people realize that, and I can't remember the exact numbers. Regular lunch prices are $1.65 for elementary and $1.75 for middle/high school. Miles and Laura will not eat lunch from the school, and Matthew will on occasion.

I have no problem with people using free/reduced lunch and then spending their money as they see fit whether on vacation or otherwise. I just can't imagine being so worried about being able to feed my kids for the summer and then having a trip planned.
