anybody else watching the Pixar cake challenge???

Of course! That way I know our trips would be thoroughly planned. ;)

Yes, they would be! :rotfl2:

Um, just suppose......what would happen if they DIDN'T get a tip? I think this whole tipping thing goes overboard. JMO. Please don't shoot me!

I would never have come up with tipping the DESK guy. That was pointed out to me (nicely) on another thread. But on that same thread another guy posted that you can always go get your own bags (implying that you don't have to tip). If I go get my own bags I will not be tipping as much as I would if they had to bring the bags all the way to my room! If I have to leave my bags with someone I would tip, but picking them up I might be tempted not to. I don't tip the valet when they call a cab for me (though I suspect they think I should) and I don't tip the BAGS person when they check us in at the resort. I do tip the curbside people at my home airport because I would prefer that my bags actually make it on the plane. My friend had a sky cap CHASE after her when she didn't tip him. All she had was a $20, but he scared her so she gave it to him. I wasn't with her, and it wasn't at our airport, but still...:scared1:

I would prefer that all tipping jobs were eliminated. Pay everyone a reasonable wage and get rid of tipping!

I agree! We tip cab drivers 20% of the fare, but I guess if they help load the bags I would tip more. But if the bell guy puts the bags in the cab then I guess we tip him and keep the cab at 20%. And then what if a bell guy wants to take the bags OUT of the cab? We should say "NO!" because by then it would have already cost us probably $30 and we're not even close to being in the room yet! :headache: It's crazy.

The nickel and dime stuff for this trip has just ballooned completely out of control.

Has anyone here used the magical gatherings people to do their ADRs? I think Lindsay has, but she isn't available.

I still have NO idea what to do about our Dec. room ressies. I was thinking about just staying at OKW the first 3 nights and then going to Pop for the 3 nights that we can't get OKW, but then that screws up the whole thing for my parents and the DDP, because they don't have annual passes. They will have bought a 6 day ticket and used half of it before checking in at Pop. So how would that affect their ability to get the DDP, since it would be a room only ressie?

Hi everyone-
I am officially home! I am uploading soem pictures now, but i know i wont get my trip report started tonight.
Welcome home!

Hi all! I hope you all are doing well! I've been trying to stay busy, despite the circumstances. It's June, though, so we've been telling the girls they can come at any time! My restrictions are lifted a bit too, which is another reason I'm not around -- I'm actually allowed DOING some things throughout the day!
:woohoo: Congrats on 34 weeks!

I thought I'd share another picture, I can't remember us ever having a picture made with just the three of us so this is a rare shot. The coordinating colors was purely coincidental.

Beautiful!!!!!

Thanks. It's pretty ridiculous.... this pregnancy has been no cakewalk, that's for sure, but this is by far the worst. I just hope it goes away a week or two after delivery as it's supposed to. Some people keep it for a month or two! :faint:
:wizard: Hope it goes away fast. I had a rash (doesn't sound like PUPP) on my arms and thighs when I was pregnant with Joe. It was going way while the dr was still at the end of the bed.

There were a lot of DDA kids born in '99. Hmm, anyone still believe in arranged marriages?;)
 I think Lizzy has her eye on an older DDAer.;)

We went garage saling yesterday without Cassidy and picked up some good bargains...our best will be Cassidy's Christmas present....A Louis Vuitton handbag for $20 (even if it's a fake it's a good one and Cassidy won't care):cool1:
:woohoo:

Grrr! This whole mess with moving the bags is going to cost us a fortune.
See the value in packing light?

I know someone already told you something like this and you didn't think too much of it but let me see if I can word it any differently....instead of thinking of it as $100 you could spend on Mickey bars or whatever....you're going for 16 nights and you know you don't want to pack light or do laundry so why not think of it as $5/night to bring what you want and pack how you want.

Awesome.

John went to the community yard sale and got me a Winnie the Pooh Christmas snowglobe for $20 (regular $85) :woohoo:
:woohoo:

Fun test. John and I both scored 77%, and our necks are red! :rotfl2:

20%

Hi and good bye everyone! This is my official notice that I am leaving tonight for London and won't be back until June 10. Try to keep the chatter down so that I have a chance of catching up when I get back.

Everything is packed and ready to go, so I'll chat with y'all when I get back!
You are going to have such an awesome time!

I just took a Disney quiz about the Disney movies and for the first time ever taking any Disney quiz got a 20 out of 20. :woohoo: I must be spending more time on Disney stuff! :lmao:

You are a total Disney Maniac!

You have correctly answered 20 of 20 questions.

The average of surfers gave 15.15 correct answers.
I got 18-missed Rescuers-I always thought it was a girl-don't remember the last time I saw it. And the name of the Aunt.

Elizabeth-you are an enabler...we decided to check Dillard's today...1 pair of Croc's on clearance for $8.74...in my size. I am the proud owner of a pair of swirly pink mary janes:cool1: .

I had to promise Jim he would get the next pair:rotfl2:

I can understand your frustration. I hadn't read the further tip talks when I posted above.

They would have to buy a 1 day ticket to the DDP but that ticket wouldn't expire as long as they didn't use it so they could use it on a future trip. I've used my extra 1 day tickets toward the renewal of my AP but I had to do it in person at Guest Relations.

So I survived Pirate camping. I ended staying up there Friday night through today in the afternoon. I spent most of Saturday leading scavenger hunts and hikes all over camp. Today I helped at the rock climbing wall.

Tomorrow it is back to the office. I will probably take a half day.
I'm sure you'll be exhausted tomorrow.

One of Lizzy's Mickey Croc's got washed out into the ocean today at the beach. She was crying (the drama queen of the family) and DH just walked further down the beach and found it. Everyone on the beach was cheering for the recovery. She's still upset that she lost a sock.

I know. And that's what I don't want to have them do, after already paying for a 6 day ticket, the DDP and the resort. It's ridiculous, just because we change resorts, that we lose the DDP.

I think that's one of the flaws of the system...and one which should be changed!!

I thought this was interesting. Alittle on the long side so feel free to skip around, but the work that went into the original plans for Epcot are unbelievable. It's amazing how it has come to be almost nothing like what Walt had planned it to be.

And with that I say goodnight friends!!!

Wow...What a terrific photo. :goodvibes

Isn't that ridiculous. Here you are worried that someone was seriously hurt, and it was just some dumb drunk.

I was more concerned that someone had hurt him and was loose in the neighborhood.

But your DS and Abi are the same age and neither thinks much about the other sex so maybe they'll get married to each other just to get their moms off their backs:lmao:

Cassidy is actually a little disappointed there aren't any DDA boys her age range...I better make sure she doesn't see this post:rotfl:

I'm sure they are just not talking about it

:rotfl2:
I don't know if DS is interested in girls and doesn't mention it, or if he really has no use for them. My cousin's 14 year old DD is beautiful and very sweet but when she gets with her best friend they are RIDICULOUS! I couldn't tolerate having a girl if that's how they act! So maybe that's why DS wants no part of them. Maybe the girls at school act like his cousin! :rotfl2: DS's friends don't like girls, either, so I'm not too worried.

My boys admit that they are interested in girls, but both agree that there is no one cute enough or nice enough in their own grades.

We are working on finishing moving the pond. It has been filled with water. Now we need to get the rocks around it and get the fish back in it.

Why would you take on such a large project so close to your trip :confused3 I hope that you have it finished and that you are all ready for your trip :wizard:

Fun test. John and I both scored 77%, and our necks are red! :rotfl2:

30% Dixie. You are a dandy Yankee Doodle.

Because for some odd reason, Chuck decided to clean it last week-end. He emptied it all out and I didn't think it made sense to fill it back up and then move it later in the summer when he had already went through all that work. It really didn't take that much time.

Deb-Abi still doesn't "like" boys...the boys in her class are a bit odd I will agree with her on that. But she also doesn't have "crushes" like most kids do at this age. I figure that will come eventually or not:confused3 I think part of it is her personality(just uncomfortable around anyone new)

I know. Like I said, no matter what we do it is going to cost a fortune. Which is just aggravating more than anything, because in no way do I think rolling my bags out of storage to the desk warrants the same tip as bringing them all the way to the room!

We had a rental car and moved our own luggage with the exception of BWV. They insisted that they unload it from our car and move it to our room. We took it all back to the car ourselves.

Have a great trip and take care of yourself and peanut.

31%, I'm definitely a Yankee.

My grandfather used to tell me he was English, Irish, Dutch, Scotch, Welch and Blue-Bellied Yankee.

Another similarity...I should have known.

We didn't tip bell services when we had them hold our luggage after checkout, but before ME. I had no idea that we should. We brought it to the window and picked it up there :confused3

I didn't either until I read another thread a year or so ago. There is good and bad about becoming more educated about Disney!

 Jennifer PUPPP sounds horrible. I cannot imagine how uncomfortable you are. I can totally understand wanting to deliver immediately

Jen the start of your trip report is great.

Now I'm off to check out Kristine's thread.
