DDA Chapter 8

[UP Disney]

I got 45%, but I lived in 6 different states by the time I was 10 so I picked up things from each region that stuck. That's also why my accent is so odd.

I have always lived in Michigan. One grandmother is from Pennsylvania and the other is from Arkansas. I believe my grandfathers were both from Michigan.

I checked some of the answers to see where the pronunciations and words were from because others use them in my family. Chuck says Bubbler where I say drinking fountain. That is from Southern Wisconsin (he was born in Milwaukee area). I say Devil's night which is from Michigan.

Hmm.
Apparently DS is developing a bit of a bubble butt. I bought 4 pairs of shorts for him at Nordstrom. I washed 3 pairs, and ran 2 through the dryer. Now they are too small! Too tight across the seat and too short in the rise. Luckily I still had all the tags on the 4th pair, and I had the receipt for all of them. I took back 2 pairs, one pair isn't THAT bad (but won't fit very long) and the last pair I caught while they were still in the washer so I am not going to tumble dry them. They are all 10 slims. I got a pair of 10 regular for him to try and they are HUGE, so those will have to go back.
I bought 4 pairs of Nike shorts for him at Macy's, and I am going to exchange them for the next size up. The smalls fit, but the mediums aren't that much bigger! I am wondering if they will charge me the difference in price if I got these on sale? They aren't on sale anymore.

So I survived Pirate camping. I ended staying up there Friday night through today in the afternoon. I spent most of Saturday leading scavenger hunts and hikes all over camp. Today I helped at the rock climbing wall.

Tomorrow it is back to the office. I will probably take a half day.

Of course! That way I know our trips would be thoroughly planned.

Grrr! This whole mess with moving the bags is going to cost us a fortune.

Apparently even if we bring the bags down to the bell stand ourselves, the guy who takes them from us at the stand has to have a tip. And when we get to the new resort, even if we get the bags and take them to the room ourselves, the person who goes and gets them out of storage will also expect a tip. Which means we might as well make them bring the bags all the way to the room if it is going to cost the same amount!

Given that scenario, we might as well take a cab over to the new resort and bring the bags with us. Cab fare plus tip isn't going to be drastically higher than tipping the bell guy per bag! Then we'll have our bags in our hands, so if by some MIRACLE our room is ready we can just take the bags directly to the room and skip having them stored.

Um, just suppose......what would happen if they DIDN'T get a tip? I think this whole tipping thing goes overboard. JMO. Please don't shoot me!

I would prefer that all tipping jobs were eliminated. Pay everyone a reasonable wage and get rid of tipping!
