DDA Chapter 8

DH won a bid for a route today. He will finish out his current term in the "specialist" position, then he can decide if he wants to go to his route or keep being a specialist. Which is odd to me. If he keeps being a specialist then somebody will have to cover that route. But the program is structured to allow the guys to win a route and have that route held for them until they decide they don't want to be specialists anymore. Weird.

It's adorable Bernadette! I *really really really* need to go buy some cork and photo frames and get all my favorite pins up on the wall. I hate that they just sit in a drawer.

Bernadette - I am so glad Emma likes her hat! It is very cute! Did you see that it is actually reversible? The girl in the store pointed that out to me. It got there fast - they told me it would be 3 days. They offered me 2 days for double the price, so it's pretty impressive that you got it in 2 days. We are looking forward to seeing you guys in August.
Time will tell if the route is good or not. It's a convenience store route with 26 stores on it! He knows grocery like the back of his hand, but he really doesn't have any experience with convenience stores. He thinks he will like it. If he doesn't then I guess he could always go back to being a specialist!

We just watched The Pixar Story" which I had taped a few weeks ago (Thanks Stephanie for mentioning it!) What a great story! So interesting to see how Pixar came to be & all the creative genuises behind it.

I signed up and ask for a young girl/tween and so far I don't think any children have been signed up. I have a box full Of HMS/HMS2 stuff. If not then I will just keep it and hope that someone signs up a child for the Christmas one.

Did you all see the update about checking bags through resort airline check in? It says you can call and pay your excess bag fees by credit card over the phone and then you will be allowed to check your bags through to the airport. So that's useful, but I am wondering if they will take our bags since we DON'T owe on them. If I call I wonder if they can tag it in the system that we were grandfathered in? Probably NOT, but it would be nice! At least they are working on getting the issues ironed out so we aren't all dragging our bags on the bus from now on.

I was thinking today about how much we are going to owe in Bell Services tips since we are moving so many times. It won't be pretty.

Yeah, maybe by August there will be a working phone number! It doesn't say anything about being an airline service, it just repeats the number and says to leave a message.

I'd love to do one. My biggest problem right now is I haven't gotten the itinerary from the congressman's office with the special tours I asked for, plus, the WH tour didn't come through, from that office, so I've had to go to another contact and haven't heard anything yet. Basically, I can't plan much until I hear more about the VIP tours.

What day of the week would work better for you guys? (and thanks for trying to make it work...)

If I was willing to give up on that waitlisted night at AKV we could be finished once and for all, but I am not to that point yet.

Yay!!

We just got in from bowling. DS really enjoyed it, so I am glad we went. They told us they will not put bumpers up for kids over the age of 8! But DS did OK without them. He and his friend bowled almost the whole 2 hours. The other kids got bored and wandered off, and some of them got kicked out for damaging a game in the arcade! It is a DARN good thing none of those kids rode with me or they would have been in massive trouble. We seemed to have WAY more kids then parents - there were only 5 moms, and about 25 kids. And DS was the only one I was in charge of.

I told DS I switched part of our ressie to WL and he is excited. I hope I don't end up changing it again!

Oh, and some VERY good news...
My mom phoned and said her uterine biopsy was benign again! They have told her she will NOT need a hysterectomy, just a D&C. She meets with the surgeon Monday for her consult on the breast surgery.

Great news -- I'm glad your DS had fun. TERRIFIC news about your Mom!

It's been a blah kind of day. I had to run from place to place, then I've just seemed to be off all evening, even though we made it to Waco without any problems. I can't put my finger on it. I guess I'm just tired. I really hope the tournament tomorrow isn't a disaster... I'd best get myself off to bed. My glass of wine has made me sleepy.

I can do any weekday too. I'm thinking we would take the VRE in, so I don't have to fight traffic. The kids will be out of school and I will be on vacation!

As long as it is a Friday I can do it. If you all need to go Monday-Thursday after June 16, I will understand, but I won't be able to go. I also was looking at the VRE schedule and thinking that made the most sense.

we have canceled the cruise based on dad's health. he is having a cath done Thursday. dog wise for the cruise its good news. i talked to the doctor today. didn't seem to concerned considering what i have been doing until i got a hold of her. she said keep an eye on weight for the next few days still and if it jumps 2 lbs or more call back. so far since Sunday the weight has stayed at 185 so that ok with me. just need to start working on loosing again. haven't found attendant yet.

Marci, Lindsay, and Elizabeth- start thinking about July 11 evening late afternoon if we can meet and have dinner. it will be here before we know it.

can someone help make a design that says Birthday Girl and has yellow and black lab on it and on that says something like with the birthday girl with same dogs. my cousin has a birthday while i get the pup.

Karen, I hope your dad's procedure goes well and that you can reschedule the cruise! I will keep July 11 in mind. I will have to work until about 6 PM, but I should be free in the evening unless I have to go out of town to see my mom.
