She did awesome. She didn't look scared at all and remembered everything. Way to go Alyssa.
Thanks. She wasn't scared at all. She loved it and now wants to be in a show. Drama camp here we come!

I haven't posted photos in a while so here are a few.\

The concert was pretty short. The kids did well. Thankfully my headache was gone thanks to 800 mg of Ibruprophen. :thumbsup2

No, Becky, my airport parking issues are WAY simpler than that! :rotfl2:
And we are NOT going to rent a car at WDW despite reports of people waiting for an HOUR for a bus from AKL AND SSR because it would cost over $400. It would also be our luck to get in an accident, then DH would be put on probation at work. He would be driving because I am not good at driving in unfamiliar territory. Especially territory like WDW where 8 out of every 10 drivers is also unfamiliar with the area! :scared:

We are going to ask both of Aunts if they can drive my parents and brother. I will meet all of them at the airport and then one of them can drive my car back and the other can drive the van. Then one of them can pick us up at the airport in one vehicle.

I agree just about everyone in Florida has no clue where they are going. I will gladly drive in Florida though as I know the area well. The thought of getting stuck in California rush hour traffic worries me.

This is tentative We are thinking about renting a car from the Avis as they are open 24 hours a day. Driving to the Disneyland area. Returning the rental car in that area. Meeting family and going to Disneyland Friday. They have not been to Disneyland for several years. Saturday doing Downtown Disney and meeting family for dinner. Then driving to a hotel near the port or staying at the same hotel again.

We are not sure if we want to stay near Disneyland or head towards the Port Saturday night. There is a tall ships Festival that weekend at the port. So that will probably affect traffic and hotel stays.

I know it will all workout and I am not worried about it.

You must tell us the whole story.

Not much to tell. A few years ago, Alan was sent by the station to cover the opening game for the Jazz. He was down on the floor by the sidelines, and one of the players literally tripped over his own feet and landed on the floor, tripping another player (and so on, and so on), and the pile up ended right on top of Alan. Luckily, he had slid his camera out of the way so it was safe. I did have to laugh when I was watching the game and there it was! It looked kind of like when boys play "dogpile", and my poor hubby was on the bottom. He looked so surprised when he saw what was happening. I don't know how he had the presence of mind to save the camera. I would have curled up in the fetal position!

I just talked to Molly's coaches wife. She is a friend of mine, I've known her since Emma was 3. Anyway, she was also involved in the soccer debacle. She read me the official complaint against her and Eric. The 16 year old coach stated that the coaches of the opposing team treated their players like dogs. The only way they could get the kids attention was to blow a whistle which she equated with trained dogs. :headache: Do any of you really think that any parent would continually allow Eric, the coach and her treat their kid like a dog week in and week out? She feels that whistles are not acceptable on the field. Crazy.

From what I got out of my girlfriend the other coach's mother does not like my friend. So this is her way of getting back at her. If so than it's a really pathetic way to go about it. Hopefully the President of the organization is able to weed through all the nonsense.

That is totally horrible! Dragging reputations through the mud is unconscionable! Here's hoping that the truth comes out!

Glynis- Do you or anyone else have hotel recommendations within walking distance of Disneyland. I know there are lots. The one that keeps sticking out in my mind is Candy Cane Inn.

Also I will have to return as It's a Small World is going to be closed for refurbishment.

When you sign in, click "Options" in the upper right (if you're using the regular version, not beta). There will be 3 columns, the middle says "management". About 2/3 down there is "Vacation Response". :goodvibes

thank you!
Oh my good golly!! Those are two of the most precious kiddos I have ever seen!!:lovestruc :lovestruc
LOVe the pictures!

I just got a phone call from Alan. He was covering a high school baseball tournament, safely by one of the dugouts, and ended up getting hit in the ankle by a foul ball. His ankle has swollen and is black and blue. He's waiting for a replacement photographer to come so he can go to the hospital and have it checked out. Any spare pixie dust you've got would be welcome! I just don't have the energy for a housebound husband these days! That would drive both of us crazy!
Hope hes okay!
That was truly wonderful. :goodvibes Alyssa did fabulously. And I think she was the best one of the bunch, she looks like a true ballerina. You should be very proud of her.

And I love, love, love the music.
Tammi--looks great!

Well, I make this post from the hospital! :sad2: The good news is, my cervix is actually holding up, or at least holding steady. Still closed, which is great (and surprising to us all!). The bad news for the day was that Baby A's fluid went from "low normal" to just "low"... and pretty low at that. The current plan is a lot of fluids overnight (1L bolus just completed, and is beeping incessantly in my ear, plus 150/hr all night), then repeat the scan at the peri's office (connected to the hospital) tomorrow morning. If the level went up, then I'll go home tomorrow and we'll recheck it again at the end of the week. If it stays up, we're back on track to have BPP's and appointments every week until further notice. If it doesn't go up, or doesn't stay up, then they will consider steroid boosters and a fairly quick delivery. We'll see! I know this isn't a very nice birthday present for Kyle. Instead of the nice dinner and fun evening we had planned, we sat around at the office all afternoon, didn't eat for hours, then had Wendy's in the hospital room -- and not a good room at that, a triage room since I'm just short stay at this point. It might be a long night... 2 heartbeats and a monitor in my right ear, and IV pump in my left, a nurse that comes in continuously because Baby A is so low the monitor won't pick her up at all the second she moves any...... but hopefully it's just one night!

Well they aren't coming today, we can just about count on it! My body is doing a decent job of keeping them in :) .... and if they have to come out becuase they aren't doing their job, it will be at least 48-72 hours from tomorrow to get steroids on board. We're thinking it will just be fluids and I'll be back in my bed tomorrow night. :goodvibes

Oh, Jennifer! I am so sorry to come home from work and see this. I hope that the fluids work and you can go back home tomorrow.

Hi everyone. Well, Alyssa did it, and I am surprised. She got on stage and did her recital. It was only dress rehearsal, but they all did well. Please pardon me while I have a proud mommy moment. If you are interested, here is the dance.

Tammi!!! She's beautiful! What a poised young lady she is! She looked so comfortable there, and so confident! I have to confess, it brought a tear to my eye! You must be so proud!!!

Did ex show up to take Nicholas?

Great pictures, Deb! The boys look so grown up!

We always stay at the Park Vue Inn. It's directly across the street from the main gates, and is the closest hotel to the park. It's clean, but not fancy. It's also right by an IHOP which is great for us! Candy Cane Inn is nice, but you'll walk a bit farther.

I'm sorry you won't get to see IASW. It's really one of my favorites. I like to stand outside and watch the clock go off every 15 minutes. So cool! You definitely need to come back! Perhaps when I can be there and we can pal around!!!!

Thank you! Yes, he did. I was prepared for the worst and had a back-up plan in place, but luckily we didn't need it.

I agree. I can remember just a few short years ago when all of our kids were mere babes. Now they are big kids!

I liked the penalty box! :rotfl2:

Bernadette thanks for the heads up on ordering from Minimus!

Jennifer prayers for you. I hope you can get some rest tonight

Robyn Molly & Lucy's pictures are adorable! :goodvibes

Elizabeth congratulations to ds for his great test scores :cheer2:

Becky I hope you are able to get some time to rest, sounds like you really need it

Glynis I hope all is well with Alan's ankle :wizard:

Tammi, Alyssa did a wonderful job! I would be having a proud mommy too :goodvibes

Deb glad you were able to enjoy the concert, great pictures!

Robyn- Great pictures the kiddos are getting so big.:goodvibes

Deb- It looks like the boys are having a great time with Lacrosse, school and band.

Glynis- I hope Alan is OK and can continue to go to work.

Tammi- Alyssa looks great at ballet. I hope she does as well at the actual recital.

Jennifer- :wizard: :wizard: Hope you get to come home tomorrow and the babies continue hanging in there.

Well, I just happen to know a family from Utah who is also going to Disneyland in 2009 and would love to meet up with you and Stephanie!!!

Seriously, any time of year is great at Disneyland. Summer, we stay away from, since the locals really crowd the place up. Our favorite times of year at DL are right after Labor Day (CA schools begin, and the park is pretty empty), and the first week in June (CA schools are still in session, and the days are warm, but not hot).

DL does not do a Food and Wine, and I don't believe they do a flower show, either. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure on that.

Let me know what you decide and I'll see if I can help out in any way. We are planning on going with my extended family in September of 2009. It will be our new peanut's first DL trip! Already my kids are so excited and planning what rides will be first, etc.

Listen to everything that Glynis says, except that California Adventure now does have a F&W Festival! It was new this year... Here is a little about it:

Celebrate the palate pleasing flavors of California cuisine and spirits as the Disneyland Resort plays host to a food lover's festival that showcases the diverse tastes of the Golden State. Join celebrity chefs, noted sommeliers and fellow culinary connoisseurs in a series of demonstrations, seminars, and epicurean adventures that will have your mouth watering every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from April 11 — May 4, 2008 at Disney's California Adventure Park.

I think it's important to capture all their firsts :lmao: :lmao:

I can't believe how quickly the boys are growing up. Colby has a buzz cut and it makes him look even older. My babies are growing up.

Today I realized that Hunter has dandruff! :scared: Of course he won't let me scrub his scalp so I had to offer up dandruff shampoo and let him deal with it. Hopefully it will clear up quickly. Why is it that they need to take care of everything on their own now :confused3 :sad1:

Alan update:

He just called from the hospital. The doctor looked at the x-rays and there is no break. However, the ball hit the ankle bone directly, and left a deep bruise on the tendons surrounding the bone. They are fitting him in an ankle brace and sending him home. The doctor said it will be extremely painful for several days. Oh, and they can't give him any pain meds, since he has to drive 45 minutes home.

He is going to stay home from work tomorrow, but doesn't think he'll take any more time off than that. I can deal with that!
