Hmmm that would be cool to go on the 2cd for Nicholas birthday, but the 4th sounds like a good choice too :rotfl:

If you decide on the 4th, we will definetly meet there ::yes::

How fun! Yes, I'm thinking the 4th too. Either that or the 2nd, which is Nicholas' bday.

Oh, dear. A 15 year old was killed today because she drove around the barriers at the train track and her SUV was hit by an Amtrak train! :sad2:
How sad for her family! The news said she just got her hardship license, so she obviously didn't have much experience behind the wheel.

How sad :guilty:

That is so very sad. :( What is a hardship license??

Janet - I am so glad that the tree fell the way it did!

Kids who are too young to be driving can sometimes get their license early if they can demonstrate that it causes a hardship on the family for them NOT to drive. I'm not quite sure why she would have been out driving alone on a Sunday because there isn't school and she is too young to work. :confused3
There would have to be restrictions on the times and circumstances the kids can drive, but I don't know what the exact rules are.

In conclusion

- Loved the room, location, pool, & entertainment at the Boardwalk.
- BWI CM's not very Disney-ish. We had 2 negative experiences with CM's beside the one I mentioned.
- The parks were the most crowded we have encountered however with planning we were able to everything we wanted with very little wait. I am still amazed how many people wait in line for over an hour & never use FP. Boggles the mind.
- Weather was beautiful. What a shock to come home..it was in the 40's here.
- We did not have the DDP & we missed it. I think we spent more without it (even with DDE) than we would have if we got the dining plan
- The cruise was worth every single penny & I would love to do it again someday.
-If we do a cruise again, book WDW first & the cruise after so we are nice & relaxed when we come home.

Awesome trip....thank you God for all our blessings!
And thanks to all of you reading along.
Loved your TR!!! What wonderful photos! Looks like a very magical trip.

I stayed at BWV (through CRO) in 1998 and I too had a not so 'magical' CM.

Not 'officially'--but i heard fromsomeone that works there that they saw the list---the first list had over 80 people they were interviewing --the second list had about 20 people that made the "first cut"-I WAS ON THAT LIST!!
:woohoo:

Great photos! Looks like a great trip!!!

Well, Dad's mystery was a good one!
WOW! That is wonderful!:woohoo:

Happy Birthday Bernadette!

I hope you are having a magical time at WDW!!!

:bday: party: :cake:  :bday:
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! It was a magical day-starting with a walk up a nearly empty Main St and the weather was perfect that morning-ending with dinner at California Grill.

WOW! That has gone up a lot. I want to say that we paid $125-150 + tax & tip four years ago. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but I know that it was definitely less than $200. I don't know that it would be worth it for $275.
When I booked our Illuminations cruise for Oct 2005 it was around $150 but when we actually took the cruise (and paid for it) it was in the $250 range.

I just booked Garden Grill for a late lunch!
I was really dissapointed with the late lunch I did at Garden Grill last May. It seemed like the food had been sitting around for a while. I would do an early lunch or early dinner.

Hi DDA! I'm sorry to have disappeared lately. We had quite a bit of a scare with Baby A last week, and I needed some time away from the computer as often as possible to pass the time until today's rescan. I'm happy to report that all is well now, and we'll just continue to monitor closely these next (last?!) few weeks. I'm sorry I fell so behind. Please PM me with anything you'd like... and I'll try to be around more this week! :goodvibes

If you're interested, details (both from last weeks crappy scan and today's wonderful one ;)) are in blog entries. Right now, apparently I have to go eat.

Take care!

I talked to her when she was checking in at the resort (all room requests filled!) and right before they all got on HM. She wouldn't let me ride HM with her though. :confused3 I think she'll be getting internet sometime in the middle of the week to upload pics and say hi.
That was Emma's first time on HM and she loved it!

Monday i got to meet a puppy in training. i was  heres a picture. his name is trotter and he is a golden retriever. photobucket is being a pain. go to www.ksdsteamkaren.blogspot.com and they are there. GRRRRRRRRRR
How cute!!!!

Aidan update:

May 07, 2008 at 10:04 PM CDT
Well they moved up Aidan's Mapping Date. He gets his Cochlears Activated TOMORROW morning. On Monday Naomi went in to pick up the equipment and to her and the Audiologist's surprise they received confirmation that it is going to work. She didn't even bring a camera. Usually no response is registered on the first visit so we scheduled it while I was out of town (the only time available), but once again my Son surprises all. Each time they played a tone, he would turn, look at Naomi and Giggle. 21 of the 22 channels are working which is better then normal(so they say), and they can redirect that missing one. We will have one tomorrow and were hoping for the same when they fully begin mapping. He's not a fan of the head piece and likes to pull it off rather quickly but I hope he learns soon that sound works when it's on and not when it's off. We are going to record his mapping and hopefully will upload to the internet once I figure out how. Till then "Hears" to a succesfull mapping...
Thanks for the update. What wonderful news.

:thumbsup2 Emma wanted a photo with one of the statues in the pin store and Goofy was right there. I'll try to get it in the mail this week.

Well, I just tried my hand at decoupage on some journals that I was planning on using as gifts. It's the first time I've done this, and I can't decide whether they look good enough to give or not. The paper and stickers were nice and flat before I put the top coat of Modge Podge on, and then it bubbled some. I'm more critical of my own work than other people are, so maybe they are good enough. They certainly don't look professional, but the thought was there.

Anyone have any Modge Podge hints for the future...if I ever convince myself to try this again?
I found I got better with practice. I also got better results when I put the modge podge on the book only at first. I used a 'sample' credit card to smooth it out then I put the modge podge on the top of the paper. I think I did 3 or 4 coats of modge podge. The last 2 books I did I cut the paper a bit larger than the book and just used a glue stick to stick the paper on then I sanded the extra paper off rather than try to fold it over to the back. This was a lot quicker than using modge podge and the book isn't sticky like the modge podge ones are.

:lmao: Exactly the issue for me. It's the getting it packaged up and into the post office. I still have some things that I'm supposed to mail Tammi, Deb, Amy, and Elizabeth. There might be more but I can't remember. I have gotten them out several times but don't have the right size boxes and keep forgetting to get the right packaging. I really have no excuse for Amy's because it would fit in a regular envelope.
Hope I'm on your list too. Hope you still have those old planning DVD's as I didn't get them back yet.

Bernadette must be having fun with her new cell phone. She send me 5 more pictures
Thanks for posting! It was hard to send the photos while running around in the parks and then my cell phone didn't have service in the room. I sent those photos when I left Emma with Terry (my FL friend). For months before the trip Emma said she wanted a Timon stuffed animal. We found one at DTD and then when Terry & Halley were there Friday night we had dinner at the food court and Halley always has a stuffed animal with her. I don't let my kids take things with them and didn't even notice Emma had Timon til we were already at the food court. We walked around the resort after dinner and I saw Emma put Timon down while I took a picture. Sure enough we get back to room and no Timon. Terry went looking for him while I was packing but couldn't find him. We checked that night and again in the morning and no one had turned him in. We went to Epcot in the morning and I checked Mouse Gears but they didn't have Timon. So I left Emma with Terry while I went to DTD to buy a new Timon. I just couldn't end the trip on a sad note of no Timon and I felt responsible because I saw her put him down. So I had time on the bus by myself to send the photos.

So now we wait some more. We wait for the oncologist to figure out what needs to be done after he consults with the surgeon, then we wait for the OB/GYN to do more tests on 5/22 and either share those results with the oncologist or not. :headache: Insanity.
How frustrating.

Anne Marie, Bernadette & I met Art at the BC. He is such a sweet man :goodvibes We told him that you said hello & look forward to seeing him in Aug. He said to tell you hello as well & said he feels so blessed with the all the friends he has made. Bernadette took a picture of him for you!
:thumbsup2 He was so sweet!!!

It's been a crazy couple days here.

We had a grand time at the party yesterday!!
That is wonderful!

So I have injured my back...and I can barely move....this is the pits. I have taken every imaginable drug and have gotten no relief!
:wizard: Hope you can find relief!

Does anyone have a whirlpool front loading washing machine? I am thinking of buying this one

I have the Maytag that is made in the same factory and have been happy with it.

We had a great trip. Emma had a great time! It was HOT!!!! It was 95+ on Friday :scared1: and I had forgotten the ice cube trick.

It was so wonderful to meet Lindsay & her Mom and Janet.

I am really exhausted-it's going to be hard to get up for work in the morning.

Had a nice Mother's Day. DH gave me Bose headphones and kids gave me nice hand made gifts. We went to MIL's and I went to see my Mom.

I got my photos uploaded to my computer but not on line yet. Let me know if you want the link to the photopass photos.

YIKES...look at the time-staying up doesn't make the morning not come-I've tried that many times and it just doesn't work.

We had a grand time at the party yesterday!! It wasn't how Jim or I envisioned Cassidy's 16th to be but she enjoyed it.

We did have a "yikes" moment in the morning....as you all might remember I bought Cassidy necklace way back in January...well we took it out yesterday morning and it was tangled so badly it broke:eek: So we had to run and find a new necklace for the pendant (didn't want to send the whole thing off for the 2-3 week repair we paid for).

The girls loved their presents.....Abi's photo collage was the hit of the party and Cassidy was almost in tears with her present.
glad to hear the party was great.

great news on Aidan!!

from the 4 in my house:

to all of the DDA aunties!!!
Ditto
Chocolate covered pineapples....MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
oh yummmm
You are going to love DVC!!! There will be no stopping you then!!! :rotfl2:

So I have injured my back...and I can barely move....this is the pits. I have taken every imaginable drug and have gotten no relief!
:wizard: that it gets well fast.

welcome home Bernadette and Emma.

Chanon and Janet have fun in Dec.

Chanon the price for my flight down is 91 right now and 78 coming home. I used the 15% discount they had that you posted about and got both flights for 78 or 75 each way plus tax.

Night all

Welcome back Bernadette! Sorry about losing Timon, glad you had time to get another one. I would love to see the photo pass pictures.

Jennifer :cool1: for great prices on your flights!

Welcome back Bernadette! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Welcome home, Bernadette. Although you are going to be tired this morning, I know you had a WONDERFUL time with Emma and that will get you through today. :)

Good morning everyone and have a good monday
we had some nasty weather overnight..it was raining so hard at 2am that it woke me..right now its just windy, but rain is coming back....gotta love mondays

This is not the best picture, nor is it an accurate rain-gauge, but I think you will get an idea of how much rain we have gotten since Thursday. I have a set of Rubbermaid nested containers that I always set out to catch water for my plants. The green handle you can see on the left is for my watering can (it is completely full). The container on the right is 12-inches in diameter and holds 3 gallons of water. The other two containers are slightly smaller. According to reports here we have had over 6 inches of rain since Thursday.
