That's one thing I was going to ask you. I saw the one club was for 3-7 yrs and the other was for 8+. Sophie isn't 8 yet is she, so did she go to the 8 yr. old club with Daniel? How did that work out for her?
Yes, the have the Oceaneers Club which is for 3-7 years & the Oceaneers Lab which is 8-12. Sophie was allowed to go into the Lab with Daniel & Katie. The counselor suggested that as she thought the stuff in the Club looked alittle young for her. My kids spent a total of 2 hours in the Lab so I can't give you too much info. Daniel & Sophie thought it was o.k. & Katie did not as she is on the verge of being 13 so it was just not cool enough for her.

It looks like Janet will be there around the same time as us. I'm thinking the beginning of December will be good dates for you, Anne Marie! :thumbsup2
:)

Evening everyone! Here's what my girlfriend and I worked on tonight! :teeth:

I'll be back when I'm done with Survivor! (Please no one post who won in case I don't make it through the whole show!!!)
That came out very nice!!!

Ditto!

You should think about a trip in Dec. :rolleyes1
I am thinking!!!!:rotfl2:

I thought "someone" couldn't go because of their childrens birthdays?? :confused3 ;) :rotfl:
:snooty: I said I can't go without my kids on their birthdays.:rotfl: :lmao: Now the 3-8 is not my kids birthdays........:rolleyes1 :lmao:

This is a short trip, Dec. 3rd - 8th with Chanon :cool1:

Flights were on sale for $94, plus I used the $25 off on 2 one way tickets for a total of $50 off. I told Gary how cheap the tickets would be, he said go for it, I called Chanon & well you know the rest :rotfl:

Are you going to MVMCP? We are thinking of going on the 4th. We will have to meet!
Cool!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Where are you staying?

This is not the best picture, nor is it an accurate rain-gauge, but I think you will get an idea of how much rain we have gotten since Thursday. I have a set of Rubbermaid nested containers that I always set out to catch water for my plants. The green handle you can see on the left is for my watering can (it is completely full). The container on the right is 12-inches in diameter and holds 3 gallons of water. The other two containers are slightly smaller. According to reports here we have had over 6 inches of rain since Thursday.

OMG!

Bernadette,
Welcome back!!!! I would love to see your photopass pictures.
By the way, we only did 10 photopass pictures in april & I was too impaitient & looked at them already. There are none I would buy though because I had the camera person take the same picture with my camera. Thanks!

Kristine,
Hope your feeling better today.

Welcome home, Bernadette! Sounds like you had a great time with Emma! :)

I have decided no DVC for us this time around. I am going to call and talk to them this morning.

Elin, that looks like some serious rain!

Anne Marie - Good luck deciding on a December trip!

Tammi, is your basement any wetter this morning?

Knock wood the backyard is just a tad flooded. I hope it stays that way.

And school is on a 2 hour delay this morning!! Emma was pretty excited about that.

Welcome Home Bernadette and Emma. I would love to see your Photopass pics.

Janet and Chanon- :cool1: on your December trip!

Chanon- I love the favors!

Elizabeth- Sorry about the DVC, but there will be a better time for you all.

I had an unusual, but lovely Mother's Day too. I slept in (close your dropped jaws, everyone) and had kolache for breakfast. We have a new Czech bakery in our area so Kristin and I stopped there on our way home yesterday. Pretty close to what my MIL makes!

Kathrin called and we talked and when Kristin woke up we went to VA Runner and were both fitted for new running shoes. I have about worn mine out over the past year so it was past time. I got a pair of Nike's much like the ones I already had, but these have the coolest innovation...

Under the insole of the left shoe is a small removable oval foam insert. You replace it with this:

and then you put your iPod Nano in this armband:

Then you choose the kind of workout you want, the music you wish to walk/run to and start. It will monitor progress and give spoken feedback! Progress can be logged in at www.nikeplus.com

I hope the weather improves soon because I want to play with my shoes.

Aren't those the coolest?! Kyle and I have been DESPERATE to get something like that since they came out, but neither of us have ever found a pair of Nike's that work for us running. We keep waiting for other brands to make a deal with Apple and jump on it, but so far no luck. Enjoy your shoes! :goodvibes

Leighanna made Angie a bracelet at school, although we think she used her wrist to measure it! DW is going to use it as an extra key chain.

Hope everyone had a good day!

This is too sweet :) Enjoy your vacation! I hope it is productive and relaxing both!

Evening everyone! Here's what my girlfriend and I worked on tonight! :teeth:
I'll be back when I'm done with Survivor! (Please no one post who won in case I don't make it through the whole show!!!)

Those are great!

I just went down and checked the basement. The carpet is damp around an area that we had waterproofed several years ago. I guess I'm going to have to dig out the paperwork and call tomorrow. I believe there was a lifetime warranty that went with the waterproofing.

Ugh, what a pain. I hope you find the paperwork and it is a smooth (and covered!) fix!

Oh, dear. A 15 year old was killed today because she drove around the barriers at the train track and her SUV was hit by an Amtrak train! :sad2:
How sad for her family! The news said she just got her hardship license, so she obviously didn't have much experience behind the wheel.

Kids who are too young to be driving can sometimes get their license early if they can demonstrate that it causes a hardship on the family for them NOT to drive. I'm not quite sure why she would have been out driving alone on a Sunday because there isn't school and she is too young to work. :confused3
There would have to be restrictions on the times and circumstances the kids can drive, but I don't know what the exact rules are.

That is terrible :( Thanks for explaining the hardship license. That is a really cool thing the provide, assuming the extra steps are taken for safety (usually, obviously barring human decisions such as this one).

welcome home Bernadette and Emma.

Chanon and Janet have fun in Dec.

Chanon the price for my flight down is 91 right now and 78 coming home. I used the 15% discount they had that you posted about and got both flights for 78 or 75 each way plus tax.

Night all

What phenomenal prices on airfare! I would love for my DH's stupid schedule to come out, so I can actually book our 2009 trip! I don't understand their logic. How in the world can they wait until late May or early June (it gets later every year) to release the next years' schedule, when some people end up having their vacation in July?! Sorry, rant :)

Where did you end up booking through, I don't recall?

Oh my gosh! I haven't checked our rain gauge yet, but I guarantee you we haven't gotten that much!

48 degrees here..Brrr!!! Where is May????

it is 46 degrees here in the sunny south... and it is 10:00 a.m. ... and my heat keeps coming on!!

and many of our schools are closed due to flooding

Tammi - I hope you didn't have to scramble around too much this morning. One of my HS students said he was on his bus on the way to school when the bus driver got the call that the schools were closed. It was almost 7:00! :confused3

How is your basement????

Our crawl space is full and the water is coming up into the well where the access door is. The river is so high I can see it over the railing of the Chatham Bridge and part of Ferry Road is flooded out (near the kids' elementary school).

Yes, the have the Oceaneers Club which is for 3-7 years & the Oceaneers Lab which is 8-12. Sophie was allowed to go into the Lab with Daniel & Katie. Thanks. I was figuring they would let me put Alyssa in with Nicholas. I think they would both be intimidated if they had to go by themselves.

I didn't even check. Our schools were canceled.

What are you talking about? It's not sunny!

They already had high schoolers on the buses this morning when they decided to close the schools. I guess the drivers got out there and found all the road closures/high water/downed tree areas.

White Oak was closed just past Padrino's, then there was some back-up from Rt. 1 up past the Y, so I went up through Clearview Hgts. Rt.1 was closed in many areas because of flooding and trees. Needless to say 95 was VERY slow.

Robyn, Tammi & Elin stay safe with all the flooding!

The sun is finally shining here! It is a whole 50 degrees :yay: :rotfl: My heat has been kicking on too & I don't like it! This is May for crying out loud :sad2:

I added a link in my signature for my TR. I'm not real good with TR's, but it is a start lol

So Anne Marie do you think you might be able to join us in Dec. with the new dates?

Yesterday we made it to almost 80 degrees, today will be at least 70 (beautiful weather to walk in) and tomorrow?? Well.....it's supposed to snow!!:scared1: and stick:scared1:

Jim used some birthday money and took us to a lovely supper just the 4 of us!! :goodvibes This was after my grandma had my mom so mad that she didn't even want to be next to her...didn't want pictures. My grandma had stated that SHE was the only mother at the brunch....ummm there were 4 more of us there. She was in fine form yesterday.

We went and saw Iron Man yesterday and the girls saw Speed Racer the day before...both said it was time for a chick flick!!:rotfl:

Thanks. I was figuring they would let me put Alyssa in with Nicholas. I think they would both be intimidated if they had to go by themselves.

We had no trouble having Sophie moved up.

Jennifer I booked on southwest. Chanon had posted that they had 15% off one weekend and it worked out that we got a nonstop flight on a Sat that leaves here at 10:30 gets their around 2:00 and we leave on a Mon at 11:30 and get back here around 1:00 also nonstop. for those prices
