DDA Chapter 6

I understand! Someone stole Mom's figment topper at Target last month. I thought Terra was going to cry. I assured her we could look for another one in Dec and that helped, but she still asks why it happened every few days.

It just seems so silly. I've never put the "specialty" ones I have on my car, because I figured those would be easy targets. I see enough of the plain black Mickey head ones, though, that I figured I was safe. It's been on there for 3+ years with no problem!

Maybe it was a Universal lover...:lmao:

sO I guess we're having a sleepover tonight. Kristi called because Chris brought a little convertible sports car home from work tonight and they wanted to see if someone would come over long enough for them to take a drive. She told Mom, "If you need something from Target or something we'll go to the one in the Valley and get it." (The Valley is about 12 miles away and there is a Target a quarter mile from Kristi's house. ) I told Mom to call back and tell her that I was needing some Ted Drewes. ;) So, Terra and I went over to play while they made an ice cream run. They hadn't even left yet when the lights went out (with the girls in the now-pitch-black basement, no less). I guess a car hit a light pole on the main street and knocked out the neighborhood. So, now the older kids will sleep here and they'll take Chase home when they come back with my frozen custard. :thumbsup2 I'd have offered to keep Chase overnight too, but she's been up crying at 2:30am twice this week. ;)

I hope the kids manage to go to bed for you guys!

Your custard sounds delightful - all this talk of ice cream, I think I'm going to have to go get my own serving!

Vicki - just saw this on another thread.

The Overland Donner bag that I mentioned the other night is on clearance on this site (the "older" model): http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,54804_Overland-Equipment-Donner-Bag-.html

If you use code AC38YY, you'll get an additional 15% off!

I got my "newer" model in the mail tonight, and I think I'm really going to like it. :thumbsup2

You are a horrible enabler! I love the Twilight colored one. Of course, if I was to be a true DISer, I should get the Aloe colored one. I'm going to sleep on it but I have a feeling I'll be ordering this in the morning. I like the look of this bag. It looks like it would be easy to open for security as well plus I'd be fashionable (a big plus since my sister will be along in June!).

That is a pretty color! I noticed that the true DIS color is backordered, so you wouldn't have to feel guilty passing it up! ;)

That's a really good price. I think they retail for almost $60. I got mine for about $36 from Shoebuy with a 20% off coupon, plus another 10% for being a new customer.

The bag appears really well made. There are just enough pockets to keep things organized, but not so many that you'd have too many things to open. It's pretty roomy, too, but not bulky.

I really like my little Mickey drawstring backpack I bought last year, but it was just a cavernous black hole that I was always digging through. Plus, the canvas of it rubbed all the back of my shirts wrong, and pilled the cotton. This is a nice material!

That's my issue with a backpack as well. It looks like this is going to be the bag. I really don't want to use the black one that I have. I have a bright pink one but my sister will die if I use that one! :lmao:

Sweet dreams, then. ;) I bet that beautiful turquoise will meet your sister's approval! :goodvibes

I think I'm going to grab some ice cream (perfect idea at 10:22 p.m.! :rotfl: ), and head to bed for some reading/TV time. Catch you girls in the a.m. - sleep tight! :cloud9:

Thank you Lindsay! I just ordered the chocolate one, I really love the one I already have. Cost with discount & tax was $29.00 :thumbsup2

Pixie dust to all in need.:wizard: :wizard:

I have had the most amazing week not spent at Disney.:cloud9: Dinner for 8 turned into dinner for a dozen, but what a wonderful day this has been.

Just what the doctor ordered for me. My friends (that I went to Disney with in December) came here for spring break. Thier son and my grandson are bestest buds. :goodvibes With two trips to Chuck E Cheese, one trip to Hands On House, a stop at Choo Choo barn and a few shared meals. What a week.!:dance3: :dance3:

Then we just relaxed at my home. I hate leftovers. Well, I don't have to worry about that. There is not a drop of leftovers. I'm sipping the last of the cabernet sauvignon ( a wonderful John Shaw 2001) out of a Go Diego Go Dixie cup. Every glass is in the dishwasher...:woohoo: :woohoo: What a wonderful evening.

I think the boys are going to sleep until noon. My DGS did not have a nap. He was falling asleep standing up. Their DS was so tired, he had to be carried to the car.:goodvibes :goodvibes

I finally washed all the dishes and just turned on the dishwasher. I'm off to bed.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lindsay - THANK YOU for all those comments! I think Bob and I are leaning towards the shrimp scampi for the dual fish/vegetarian option too. We won't have to worry about Kosher meals. Some might have a nut allergy, so that will be brought up since we seem to be leaning towards the Tuscan Stuffed Chicken.
My current problem is the pork tenderloin. If we fall in love with that would/should that be subbed for the chicken? Then my options become pork/beef/fish. And alot of red meat. And to me that just seems odd. So I'm leaning towards not even trying the pork just so I don't put myself in that that spot.

Why not try the chicken and the pork and make a choice between the 2. I bet one will stand out above the other. Then you can choose your scampi (will all your vegetarians eat fish??) and a beef offering.

Also, I figured out (I think) the answer to your question about the difference in the two cuts of steak yesterday. I forgot to post this last night!

When you order a filet as a single serving it is simply a filet. When you order it for two it becomes a Chateaubriand. For a larger crowd it is beef tenderloin. I am betting that when you roast the entire loin that a strip is cut from they change the name too.

yep... I think you wil be able to see it here...

My exact thoughts. It was like "That was the end?" Becky thought there must be a sequel or something. I told her I hope not.

Since the character Sweeney Todd has occurred in many literary forms for the past 200 years or so, I wold not put it past Tim Burton to find a way to make one of his famed sequels.

I'm back! Luckily, I didn't hear or see anything that will give me nightmares tonight. Sometimes hearing it is even worse than seeing it. My imagination is very vivid when it comes to stuff like this.

You know, Vicki, that is one reason Kathrin didn't want me to go see the movie. I said I would go with her and just close my eyes and she said the sounds would "haunt" me anyway. After her vivid description of said sounds, I am very glad I opted not to go.

I'm heading to bed. I hear the thunder way off in the distance, which will be getting closer as the night goes on.

Well, I never heard it! I hope it didn't keep you up last night, Tammi.

I think they were referring to Mr. Magorium. Remember, Vicki wasn't watching Sweeney.

Thanks, Tammi! In the end, it's a $5 piece of foam, but it just seems so stupid and pointless to have stolen it!

It just seems so silly. I've never put the "specialty" ones I have on my car, because I figured those would be easy targets. I see enough of the plain black Mickey head ones, though, that I figured I was safe. It's been on there for 3+ years with no problem!

Don't you wonder what motivates some people? One of my students brought me back one of the Mickey snowmen antenna toppers. My car had not been parked on the streets of downtown Fredericksburg more than a week before it had been stolen! :sad2:

I told Jonathan it's going to be embarassing that my parents will be all ripped on the beaches of Kauai this summer, and we'll be the pudgy duds with them.

:rotfl2: Good for them! I don't care if I am ever "ripped" but I need to get back into a more regular exercise regimen. I can tell a difference in my body even though I have not gained any weight. (Of course, I have not lost any more either, but that is a completely different story and one upon which I have begun yet another chapter. )

Well, no rain. I wish I could have a job where I was wrong 90% of the time and still get paid. We were supposed to have rain all afternoon and evening yesterday, into today, which we didn't. So that means we DO have our 8AM soccer game. Or they will cancel it at the last minute. Guess I better start getting ready. TTFN.

Good morning, Elin, and to the rest of you eventually.

ah! yes, I forgot that there were multiple screenings on the DDA last night! :upsidedow
