to anyone I missed!

Off to get Leighanna ready for school.
Leighanna is having issues with some older kids on her bus, so I have opted to drive her to school, and pick her up. She is starting to get anxiety attacks, and she is making herself sick just thinking about riding the bus.
She used to love the bus, but all it takes is a few rude kids, who like to pick on little ones to ruin the whole experience!:sad2:

Have a great day all!

Sorry to hear this, the poor little thing...so much cr@p happens on the bus because no one is really watching them. You are better off driving her.
When my oldest was in Kindergarten, an older kid punched her in the face. We brought it to the principal & I also went over to the kid's house & let the mother have an earful.
10.gif
It stopped then & there, however not all issues can be resolved that way. Good luck & hope you let the school know why you are driving her.:wizard:

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go today....I wonder if they have seen the store closing list yet? My manager is at Disney right now..wonder if anyone called her. I hope not, let her enjoy her vacation. 2 of our closest stores are closing. If May 1 is the day of the turnover then I guess I won't be working when I get back from our trip.:confused3 Oh well, I guess I could make alot more money somewhere else.:sad1:

Robyn--that cake looks GOOD!

Like there is such a thing as a bad cake? ;) It does look fabulous. I really like cake, you know.

Post 15,000 for me :dance3:

Yay! Congrats!!

looks great Steffy

Yay for the new kitchen!! Some house that I have lived in over the years had that metal grate/scrollwork across the front of the sink. I hadn't thought of it in a long time. :)

So we are changing our dates.

Jeff thinks it will be cooler and less crowded in Sept. We thought about going for our Anniversary but free dining stops on the 20th. Our Anniversary is on the 28th.

We are now leaving the house on the 13th driving to Houston to see an Astros game at 6pm. after the game drive to the other side of Houston. Stay overnight at a hotel, get up around 5am and head to Disney. Arrive late on the 14th stay thru the 22nd and head home. Thinking of doing MNSSHP on the 16th.

How does this sound?

Sounds like you will miss all of us in August! :guilty: But I am sure you will have a great time! We'll catch you guys at WDW another time! :)

Congrats!!

Tom, poor Leighanna! I am sorry to hear this! I hope the school is working with you to punish the bullies!

Well, the Annexes are preliminary. Also, don't rule out driving to another store until you find out how the benefits are changing. If they reinstate really good benefits that include parks and/or resorts then it might be worth the drive!! But if not, you have current retail experience so you can get hired on at any other shop in the mall. Gap is a good company - I looked at going into mgmt. with them a few years back.

Happy Monday, everyone!!

Bernadette I love the clothes you have made!

Stephanie your kitchen is so bright now :thumbsup2 My kitchen is very dark as well, I can't wait to have it brightened up.

Jennifer bummer that I will not get to meet you & your family :(

Elin congrats on your personal milestone :cheer2:

Anne Marie I hope you still have a job when you return :wizard:

Tom sorry Leighanna has had to deal with a bullie on the bus

The sun is shining this morning & as the week goes on, it is slowly going to warm up :yay: Hopefully it will start to feel like Spring!

Gary made a comment the other day that I need to slow down on the trips with the remodeling that is going to start.

I know fixing up our home is important & that it is going to cost quite a bit, but I need my trips. So maybe next year I will just plan one ;)
Yeah, one really BIG one! ;)

Unfortunately the school is doing NOTHING about the problem on the bus.
Looks like I will be driving her to school from now on.

Leighanna was having trouble at lunch too. She packs her lunch alot, and when she does, she doesn't have to go through the lunch line. Apparently the lunch monitor seats the kids in first available seating, so Leighanna couldn't eat lunch with her classmates. Most of the time she would come home with a lunch box that was barely touched, just so that she could be excused and let outside to play. At least her teacher has fixed this problem, and lets Leighanna go through the lunch line with her classmates so that she can sit with them.
Leighanna usually has no problem making new friends, but some kids can be cruel and heartless, and Leighanna is so tender hearted she would get upset.
It was starting to get so bad, that the last two Fridays she was so worked up with stress, she made herself sick.

Since I have promised to drive her to school and pick her up, her whole attitude has changed. I hope this helps.

Katrina spent most of 3rd grade with an upset stomach for many of the same reasons. Kids can be so cruel.

Three weeks from today I will be getting ready to leave for the airport to head to Disney! :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :yay:

Here are the kid's sleep pants. I forgot to make the pattern big enough for the elastic casing and hem so I had to add cuffs. I was able to find a coordinating print for Emma's. They all loved them!

I also bought a PDF file for an ALine top. I made one for Lizzy first to practice on:

I still need to refresh myself on how to do button holes. Lizzy tried it on and it looks so cute!

Here's Emma's Car's A Line top and I made shorts to go with it.

And some things I'll be working on.....

The fabrics for Lizzy's twirl skirt:

I'll make Lizzy an A Line top and white shorts with matching cuff out of this:

I bought these fabrics years ago to make Lizzy & Emma pillowcases but now I'm thinking I might make them A Line dresses for CP. You don't think Lizzy is too old for that fabric (the green one) do you?

Wow...You've been hiding your sewing talents. I'm very impressed :worship: I don't think the pooh fabric is too young looking, I think Lizzy would look cute in it...the important question is what does she think? It is a lot of work, so I'd ask her first.

Please remember, my house is the same age as me....

This is the yucky color it was before...

Basically, anything would be an improvement...

This is without the hardware and stuff. I still have to put the baseboard up, but it is so bright and organized, I like it a lot.:dance3: :dance3:

I love it :goodvibes It really brings out the flooring. I had to go back and see if you changed that too

Good morning, Tom. We miss you here, so it was nice to come on and see a post from you. Poor Leighanna... kids can be so nasty. I can't believe the school won't do something about the bullying! :sad2:

Hopefully you will find a place where you enjoy working as much as you have liked being at TDS, Anne Marie.

Elin,
I like your new siggie pictures.

Thanks! I figured my new post count deserved a donation to the DIS and that prompted a change in avatar since they stuck the DIS Sponsor picture smack dab in the middle of my signature in the middle of the night! As long as I was working on it I decided to scraplift some shots from the Disneyworld dot com site. :goodvibes

I've been meaning to make a donation to the DIS as well. I guess my 10,000 post count would be a good time to do that. Thanks for the idea.

53 days! Wow, I can't believe I'll be at Disney in 53 days. We are going to have so much fun with my niece & nephew. My only concern was whether my sister was going to listen to me about the rest in the afternoon. She seemed to think it wasn't necessary. Well, she took her kids to an indoor water park last week-end and told my mom afterwards that her kids were going to need a rest in the afternoon while we are at Disney! Yeah! She understands!

I'm off to the post office sometime this morning to pick up the dresses and see whether I like them. I'm hoping my overland donner bag is here as well. There are two packages at the post office. The second one is either my bag or my movies from the Disney Movie Club. I just had a 50% off all additional movies if you buy one at regular price so I bought about 12 of them. I also had free shipping.

My girls and April do not mix when it comes to haircuts!

Molly decided this morning that she needed a haircut, so she gave herself one.

It's certainly not even but it's the best I can do! It took us so long to grow those bangs out. :headache:
