What is it with you and blue dye?!?!? :rotfl2:

That's precisely what I was wondering! :lmao:

Deb - I am HOPING it goes away without medical intervention. And I am hoping I don't get a cough. Princess has been hacking like an old man who smokes 2 packs a day. :scared: Glad your projects are progressing! :thumbsup2

Amy - Since we all know I am really the domestic diva of the thread, I think I might make PLACE AND BAKE cookies today! ;) :rotfl2:

Elin - I think Kristin could use a visit! :)

Hi, everyone. John and I went to lunch for my birthday for Mexican. Then we went FURNITURE shopping! Now that I have a real job, we are splurging after 13 years of marriage and buying bedroom furniture, drapes, etc and making our room a true Master retreat. Our bed is literally just a mattress on the metal frame. I'm so excited to finally have a real bed! We have a cherry armoire, dresser with mirror, and man's Highboy already. They are accented with pewter knobs and a little black iron on the mirror. We got this cherry bed, this chair and ottoman, and either these side tables or these black and cherry ones (we're going back to decide after lunch). Our room is large with a vaulted trey ceiling and a reading alcove. The walls are a soft yellowish-taupe. The bathroom is done in that color with a soft sage green, white, and black accents. We have white plantation shutters on the windows in our room. I'm getting drapes in either black or a darker sage green, a silk comforter in a solid sage, and then pillows in black/gold/green patterns. I can't wait!

My in-laws came over yesterday afternoon, and we all went to dinner last night. They are watching the kids this afternoon so John and I can go out. They are leaving later today, and then we'll have Easter just us tomorrow. The kids had an Easter Egg Hunt this morning, and it was a lot of fun. We still haven't had my birthday cake, so I can't wait to have a big piece after lunch.

Hope everyone has a great Easter!

I have no idea about computers..i think im going to a store today to look at other computers...ill probably order one this weekend--i dont want to be without a computer!

No idea what the allergic thing was--im still a bit swollen, but not nearly as bad

I'm glad your swelling is going down! Good luck with the computer hunt!

Vicki just phoned and asked me to please let everyone know that she made it to her sister's house safely. :) She's not sure when she'll be able to get back on to post.

Jennifer - I've never done urgent care with this insurance. Since we have a $500 deductible whatever they charge would be 100% out of pocket. I don't feel worse since I have been up, so that's a good thing!

I don't think we're doing Easter eggs this year. :confused3 DH will eat hard boiled eggs, but DS and I won't. I don't even think we have any eggs. I need to go buy some groceries at some point today since we have no food. I don't think we are doing a special dinner tomorrow (DH is working), but we still need groceries.

I hope you continue to feel the same or better!

I talked to Kristin this a.m. and she sounds a bit stressed. She is playing Portia in "Merchant of Venice" this semester and is having an awful time with all the lines. Her character has a LOT of lines and she has over half of them down. Part of the problem (in my opinion) is that she waited a bit late to work on them, but the rehearsal technique of the director is a little odd... she has never been the whole way through the play and they go up in 2 weeks! They are performing the entire play (probably over 2 hours + intermission) in the outdoor amphitheater at VCU. Should be a great venue for the show, so I hope she gets her lines down soon! They are working on the courtroom scene today and I don't think she knows half of her 15 or so monologues.

Anyway, I mentioned how quiet it was around here and she intimated that a drive to Richmond for the day tomorrow might be a very good stress-reliever for her. So, we may go spend time with a child on Easter anyway. I thought I would let her get through today's rehearsal and then talk to her again.

I love that show! I'm sure she'll be great, but I hope she can find a less-stressful medium with getting her lines ready, dealing with strange direction, etc. I hope she is feeling better when you talk to her later!

Denise, that furniture is GORGEOUS! What a good birthday! :goodvibes Without seeing them in person of course, I think I like the first side tables with the rest. The chairs and ottomans are to die for!

Elin....that is a nice place. I have been there a few times for corporate events...

Anyway, I know for certain that you can get picked up from the airport via limo...they charge around $20 per person.

As far as going downtown....they are 5 minutes from the train station...they offer a free shuttle to the train station...and back from the train station. (unless you are out really late)

Depending where they want to go downtown...I'd hop into a cab from the train station.

Kristine (and anyone else in Chicago-land)... do you know anything about the Eaglewood Spa and Resort? One of Kristin's friends' mothers works for the parent company of that place and for graduation has given them all 5 nights at any one of the resorts in the company. For some reason they chose the one near Chicago (Itasca). :confused3

Anyway, I am wondering about public transportation to and from the airports to that place as well as into downtown Chicago. Any thoughts or ideas?

Vicki-Glad you made it safely.

Theresa- I staye away from the CB generally. Sorry they weren't very nice.

Jen- I have a HP desktop that I've been pretty pleased with.

Deb- Sounds like you're making good progress on the house. I hope you feel better!
Elizabeth- I hope you feel better, and yea for more Disney money!

Elin- the Irish place sounds great. I can't wait to try the F&GF for the 1st time in April!

Terry- Can I come along on your summer trip?

Debbie- Have a nice time for Easter with your family! And WTG on the continuing weight loss.

Robyn, love the pictures of the girls. TOO CUTE!

Denise, I just found out a "little girl" () I coached several years ago is going to 'Bama this fall for college! :goodvibes
Tell her ROLL TIDE for me! We're taking the kids to their first Bama game this fall. They play Clemson at the GA Dome in August, and my FIL got us 5 tickets.

My allergies have me feeling like crap today. We intentionally stayed home yesterday so I wouldn't be outside, but it didn't seem to help. I really need to go in to Dallas today, but I think I'll just hang out at home, clean out another few drawers and veg. Having this horrendous mouth ulcer has helped my diet -- one really good thing! :)
Feel better, Marci! And thanks again for the beautiful flowers. Any word on Randy's interview yet?

We dyed 4 dozen eggs :scared1:....what a mess. After I lectured the eggs to tone it down..not to spill..no messes etc etc etc...I dropped blue dye all over my dish washer, my kitchen rug, the wood floor...what a mess!!! Thank god it seems to have come out of everything except my hands...they have all picked out what they believe is the winning egg...we play an easter egg battle game.
Blue and you don't mix well, do they? ;)

Did the eggs listen? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Glynis' pot roast is in the crockpot, and I just put my dad's birthday rum cake in the oven. I don't suppose a small slice would hurt baby Noah (though I was right about dreading the scale yesterday). ;)

We had a great visit with my mom and Jim. I really need to take a picture of the Easter cut-out cookies she made the kids. My mom puts Martha Stewart to shame! We also dyed eggs together last night. Very simple, since Alyssa was in charge, though Matthew managed to crack and squish the heck out of the two we gave him. :)

Robyn, all your Easter pictures are adorable! :goodvibes

I hope all the sickness doesn't damper anyone's Easter weekend. Go away ulcers, allergies, and germs! :wizard:

Happy Easter everyone!

(Can someone come over and do the laundry?)
I hope you have a great Easter!

Sounds like a good birthday, Denise!
How is John doing? Did the steroids help with his taste?
Yes, he is starting to taste food again which is FANTASTIC! The ENT thinks it was neurological, even though it didn't show on the MRI. Hopefully, he'll be in full swing for Disney!

Me too. The chair wood is cherry with black veneers, so that was why we were wondering about getting the black and cherry table vs the solid cherry. We're going to pull the chair over to them today to compare. The bed is grand and makes quite a statement. It will come in right after our Disney trip. I can't wait!

That is just the info I was looking for, Kristine. THANKS! I had offered to spring for the limo for them, but they are sure they can get the train. :confused3

As for being out late at night... ummmm... we are talking 4 just-graduated-from-college 21/22 year olds. :rotfl2:

good point...looks like they will need a cab back to the resort from the train station!

it's in a good area though...so they will be fine.

today is Jonathan's last day....:sad2: the week sure went fast!!

That is just the info I was looking for, Kristine. THANKS! I had offered to spring for the limo for them, but they are sure they can get the train. :confused3

That is the best news I have heard all day, Denise. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if Yak & Yeti takes Landry's GCs? I have some I normally use for RFC, but there is no info on the Landry's site about Yak & Yeti other than to give directions on how to get there!

You are going to LOVE the flower fest! Do you think you could pick me up a brochure?
Absolutely!!! :) What day are you leaving to go to WDW?

Has anyone gone to the Kennedy Space Center? I looked at their website but it seems so confusing. They have a bus/ticket combo that picks up at ASMu. It is about $90/adult.:scared1: We were thinking of renting a car (pickup at Dolphin) but we would need a minivan for the 7 of us and I think we would need 2 days because the hours are limited at the Dolphin. The bus would be so much easier.
We are planning on going the day before our cruise. We will have a rental minivan. The website looks confusing to me too so we are going to wing it when we get there & see what we can see.

Ok I am off..wish me luck!:lmao:  :sad2:

We're off to Mobile to visit with our youngest today, then we are going to DH's sisters for a cookout tomorrow.
Have fun!

I have no idea about computers..i think im going to a store today to look at other computers...ill probably order one this weekend--i dont want to be without a computer!

:wizard: Good luck with computer shopping!

We went to the Kennedy Center last summer after getting off of the Wonder. It was fantastic! We did the up close tour, where we got to go out past the launch pads and got to get out at a couple of places to take pictures. Sorry I can't help with the tour from ASMu.

My allergies have me feeling like crap today. We intentionally stayed home yesterday so I wouldn't be outside, but it didn't seem to help. I really need to go in to Dallas today, but I think I'll just hang out at home, clean out another few drawers and veg. Thanks! Do you know if you had the ticket that is about $50?

:wizard: Hope your allergies and ulcer improve!:wizard:

Vicki just phoned and asked me to please let everyone know that she made it to her sister's house safely. :)
Thanks for the good news!

I agree that the web site is confusing!!

We are going the day before our cruise...and having a town car service take us....but I haven't figured out which tour we are doing
You'll have to let me know what decide to do. We're not going til August. I've got to ask Terry(my FL friend and atronomy prof) for advice.

oh very funny!! ;)

I bought it at this little polish deli...I have never seen such dark & vivid dye...too bad blue never made it to an egg
That's too bad! I cooked 2 dozen eggs. 2 cracked. I gave 5 to Lizzy to take to her friends house, Emma & I did 8 so we have 9 more to do with Joe and I don't know if Lizzy did one with her name or not yet.

I talked to Kristin this a.m. and she sounds a bit stressed. She is playing Portia in "Merchant of Venice" this semester and is having an awful time with all the lines. :wizard: Good luck to Kristin!!!

We got up and going this morning. The entry floor is now down to plywood. The boys and Papa had fun with that little project. I've applied more Durabond to the wall corners and the ceiling to repair the cracks. Now we are waiting for that to dry in order to sand and/or apply more. I feel like we are watching paint dry, but we aren't that far yet :lmao: This seems like a hurry up and wait kind of day. My Mom and Dad both came to help, but since we hit a standstill they headed home to do things at their own house. Apparently my SIL is painting next door today too :confused3 I'd say something is in the air, but it's too cold here to breathe.

At some point I need to run to the store and pick up some very important items for late tonight :goodvibes I also need some groceries
:wizard: Good luck getting things done! Sounds like you're making great progress!

I really need to take a picture of the Easter cut-out cookies she made the kids.
Would love to see a photo!

Great news!!!

Rees had his IEP for the 2008-09 school year yesterday, and the school ONCE AGAIN is just going overboard to make sure he has EVERY resource possible and whatever he needs. :yay: And his new wheelchair should be here in the next 2 months. It may not arrive in time for our trip. If now, we will just rent one for the week.
