I just saw a ticker on the CB and clicked on it and it took me there, never been there before so not sure if its new, but they say you can send in a request for a banner/slider.

the Contemporary banner is a new one for them too, I think. It looks very cool with the monorail slider!

BTW, anyone willing to take some of the wind that is blowing here? Pretty bad when you are under a wind warning for a couple of days. :sad2:

What?!? He doesn't listen to you either??

:rotfl2:

Yeah, and the worst thing of it is no one keeps me updated on anything. So, if something is happening, I am the last one to know. I finally blew up at everyone telling them they need to keep me in the loop or they will get no help from me.

Of course, Hal just shakes his head, and lets me rant and then goes on about his way doing just the same thing. AAARRRRUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  :headache: :lmao: :confused3 :rotfl:

I'll never understand gas prices. At our local WaWa it is 3.21. Three miles away, in the same county, at Sheetz, it is 3.13. How can it be so different. :confused3

the differential is worse here 3.10 down the block...less than a mile later 3.03....5 blocks later 3.15. Don't get it at all!!

where is it 3.13??? on route 3?

Well,

I worked for 15 years in corporate America...and then became a Realtor...so more or less I was always my own boss.

Next, I took a job at TDS because I was in love with the concept of being a CM...

The very very bad:

....never in my life have I seen worse pay. I think if I would have clipped a few coupons and did more buy 1 get 1 free I would have been more ahead than working there.

the things they made you do I was shocked by...example...after working register...straightening that horrible mound of stuffed animals for the millionth time...when the store closes...someone has to vacuum...are you kidding me?! Where I came from so to speak, there was a cleaning crew..I didn't know WE were the cleaning crew!! :scared1:

Any time you left the store, break or lunch etc...they search your purse...which I found terribly demeaning...

I think bottom line is...I am not a retail person. It truly gave me a new appreciation for those who work in that field..I have no clue how you do it.

Plus....with DVC, the current employee perks, I didn't find all that amazing.

:lmao: Do you care to share what happened & what was your last straw?

Thanks!!

I literally thought I was going to get blown off the road this morning!!!! I think the wind has died down a little now. I came into work for a few hours today to get some work done. It is quiet here and everyone thinks we are closed. Well, almost everyone. There is always the few people who don't read the sign at the door. :lmao:

we are too... Bob bungeed our trash cans before he left for work this a.m.

This is one of the things I fight at the preschool, too. I will sweep up after class and even vacuum the rug. I will not, however, clean the bathrooms or mop floors there. That shouldn't be my responsibility. Oh, we have to take the garbage out to the dumpster, too. Personally, I don't think that "real" teachers do any of that, so I don't think that I should have to either. I am willing to make some concessions, though.

I just paid 3.28 for gas about 20 minutes ago. Another gas station that I passed was at 3.39.

Mom lives out in NV - in the middle of nowhere mind you - and her backyard is basically Death Valley. There is ONE gas station in all of Death Valley (that none of the locals would use mind you because they know where and when to get gas when driving through a desert ;) ) and this gas station was at 5.20 last Saturday.

Well DD had a monthly visitor this morning so Brandon won't have to worry about us forgetting all about him. I would love to have a granddaughter but now is not the best time for them, since they are struggling financially with all the fallout from SIL's surgery, they got a break on the surgery itself but there is plenty more to go with it.

The AC man left without putting me in the poorhouse, but it most likely isn't the end of it.

DH doesn't care to wear matching shirts and I can only get him to wear one on his BDay for our November trip, even then he prefers it to not be covered wtih characters, he does love Chernabog so this is what I came up with,

I think it will meet with his approval.

As for gas prices, I refuse to even think about it.

thank you all for making me thankful for my low $3 a gallon gas:lmao:

It is gross that it WILL get higher just in time for summer AND the gas companies have record breaking profits. How about cutting those profits a teeny bit:confused3

I worked at TDS for 3 days...by far it was the worst 3 days I have ever spent...

I remember that now that you bring it up! :rotfl2:

Elizabeth,

Horray for the last 2 payments on the braces!:cool1:

As soon as we are done paying for Katie's, Daniel will be getting his!

:wizard: Hopefully he won't need much work done!

Here is the info on TDS & TCP.

Disney is only planning on taking back 2/3 of the stores so the rest may be closed. I spoke with my manger this morning & I was told that they have no news other than TCP is pulling out of TDS.

The guy at my store was talking to me about this today but he couldn't remember the exact details. I still haven't read any of the links.
I got THE CUTEST Disney Dollars today! Classic Mickey! 1's and 5's to give to DS for Easter. My store is sold out of gift cards! :scared1: He did find a Christmas one for me since I don't care about the design, but all of the "regular" ones are gone.

It's $3.85 a gallon here.:sad2:

Coming back from the mall it was $3.27 but that station is usually a little bit higher than the others.

BTW, anyone willing to take some of the wind that is blowing here? Pretty bad when you are under a wind warning for a couple of days. :sad2:

I hate wind. It was really windy the day we played mini golf and I had a headache the rest of the day.

I worked specialty retail for 6 years - 5 years in management. "Standards" vary from store to store (the nastiest place I ever worked was Contempo, which I don't even think exists anymore). A sales associate had to vacuum at EVERY store I ever worked in. And we had to straighten every rack, take out the trash, etc. At The Limited we had a checklist to complete EVERY DAY that was dusting each and every rack, moving the racks to dust underneath (the store had wood floors), it was all very tedious.
I once had an employee who came to me from Victoria's Secret where she had to dust the racks with a Q-Tip! They had wooden racks with little curlicue parts carved in them and they had to use Q-Tips for the crevices.

Bag searches were mandatory everywhere I worked. I guess if you start in retail you don't think of those things as being unreasonable because that's how all retailers do things. I used to LOVE to talk to Byron, our loss prevention guy. He had the BEST stories about people stealing! I don't have the ability to think that creatively. Or maybe I am just not the "stealing" type. :confused3 One girl would bring her lunch every day. She would only eat half of her sandwich and bring the other half home, so at bag check the other girls just saw a sandwich. She was stealing earrings and hiding them in the sandwich! :scared1: That wasn't at my store, but I thought it was the most bizarre thing I ever heard.

Heidi - Yay for a new ticker!! :yay:

Princess still feels crummy and those idiots are not only hammering, now they have the saw going, too. :headache:

Debbie - That's a cool design! Richie should wear it proudly! :thumbsup2
I hope there will be a DGD in your future, but maybe not for a little while.

Anne Marie - Yah, the "Nothing tastes as good..." line isn't working that well for me, either. :rolleyes1 Today I have had a container of organic yogurt, 2 slices of apple, and a South Beach Diet granola bar thing. I don't think I will be able to keep this up very long.

Thanks Elizabeth,

That's what's wrong with most diets, we go on them and what we allow ourselves isn't something that we can stay with for any length of time. We need to make changes to our diets that we can live with and stick to them permanently. Now if I can only take my own advice . . . . . .
