I worked at TDS for 3 days...by far it was the worst 3 days I have ever spent...
I remember that now that you bring it up!
Elizabeth,
Horray for the last 2 payments on the braces!
As soon as we are done paying for Katie's, Daniel will be getting his!

Hopefully he won't need much work done!
Here is the info on TDS & TCP.

Disney is only planning on taking back 2/3 of the stores so the rest may be closed. I spoke with my manger this morning & I was told that they have no news other than TCP is pulling out of TDS.
The guy at my store was talking to me about this today but he couldn't remember the exact details. I still haven't read any of the links.
I got THE CUTEST Disney Dollars today! Classic Mickey! 1's and 5's to give to DS for Easter. My store is sold out of gift cards!

He did find a Christmas one for me since I don't care about the design, but all of the "regular" ones are gone.
It's $3.85 a gallon here.
Coming back from the mall it was $3.27 but that station is usually a little bit higher than the others.
BTW, anyone willing to take some of the wind that is blowing here? Pretty bad when you are under a wind warning for a couple of days.
I hate wind. It was really windy the day we played mini golf and I had a headache the rest of the day.
Well,
I worked for 15 years in corporate America...and then became a Realtor...so more or less I was always my own boss.
Next, I took a job at TDS because I was in love with the concept of being a CM...
The very very bad:
....never in my life have I seen worse pay. I think if I would have clipped a few coupons and did more buy 1 get 1 free I would have been more ahead than working there.
the things they made you do I was shocked by...example...after working register...straightening that horrible mound of stuffed animals for the millionth time...when the store closes...someone has to vacuum...are you kidding me?! Where I came from so to speak, there was a cleaning crew..I didn't know WE were the cleaning crew!!
Any time you left the store, break or lunch etc...they search your purse...which I found terribly demeaning...
I think bottom line is...I am not a retail person. It truly gave me a new appreciation for those who work in that field..I have no clue how you do it.
Plus....with DVC, the current employee perks, I didn't find all that amazing.
I worked specialty retail for 6 years - 5 years in management. "Standards" vary from store to store (the nastiest place I ever worked was Contempo, which I don't even think exists anymore). A sales associate had to vacuum at EVERY store I ever worked in. And we had to straighten every rack, take out the trash, etc. At The Limited we had a checklist to complete EVERY DAY that was dusting each and every rack, moving the racks to dust underneath (the store had wood floors), it was all very tedious.
I once had an employee who came to me from Victoria's Secret where she had to dust the racks with a Q-Tip!

They had wooden racks with little curlicue parts carved in them and they had to use Q-Tips for the crevices.
Bag searches were mandatory everywhere I worked. I guess if you start in retail you don't think of those things as being unreasonable because that's how all retailers do things. I used to LOVE to talk to Byron, our loss prevention guy. He had the BEST stories about people stealing! I don't have the ability to think that creatively. Or maybe I am just not the "stealing" type.

One girl would bring her lunch every day. She would only eat half of her sandwich and bring the other half home, so at bag check the other girls just saw a sandwich. She was stealing earrings and hiding them in the sandwich!

That wasn't at my store, but I thought it was the most bizarre thing I ever heard.
Heidi - Yay for a new ticker!!
Princess still feels crummy and those idiots are not only hammering, now they have the saw going, too.
