Heidi,
Love the new ticker!

Well my kiddos are home today & already begging to play Wii! We have time limits on that & the tv & computer so days off get tough since they have more free time. I am going to take them to the mall later just to get them out of the house.

Vicki,
Hope you enjoy talking Disney with your family!:goodvibes

Debbie,
Great news from the Dr. Keep up the great work!

Marci,
Hope it goes away fast!
Ditto from me!

I think I would take a job at TDS just to be a CM! ::yes::

Deb,
That is scary. Its good you know so now you can keep a look out. Hopefully now that the guy was seen in a garage he may stop or go elsewhere.

Mommy's have no time to get sick, didn't you read the parenting manual?:rotfl: Hope you both feel better!

I'm going to need to implement this come summer. Between Webkinz, toontown, and the school's portaportal sight, I don't even get time on MY computer. Does each kids get a set amount of time, say a half hour each, or do they get specific time periods, like 6:00-6:30?

Oh Tammi I would be over the moon! They do not pay much so perks like park tickets & discounts on resorts would be such a great benefit. Some of the people I work with now were there when it was owned by Disney & they loved it then.

Deb,

I had a dream about you last night. I drove to your house (in a snow white tee shirt) met you & your family at your house & then we went out for Italian food. Then I couldn't get back home. Wierd!!! I know why you must have been on my mind though..I was thinking about how many of us were at Disney the same time in Oct 2005 & even some of us at the same party. Thats the year you guys were all Hercules characters & I remember seeing you but not knowing you then.

Isn't it strange how we dream about people that we were thinking about :confused3 I remember that party. We bumped into Marti and Paul that night :thumbsup2 We had so much fun, it was probably our favorite Disney experience of all time :goodvibes

I didn't check my email last night so I had a shocker this morning. Apparently a man in a hooded sweatshirt has been trying to break into homes in our neighborhood  At times when people are home. Apparently someone came home yesterday to find him in their garage. He fled. That is pretty scarey. I guess I need to go out and lock the shop and camper :sad2:

Colby and I are both feeling a bit under the weather today. We both have colds. He's got a little cough and I've got a sore throat. Hopefully the dimetap will help him and the sudafed with help me. I do NOT have time to be sick now.
Who did you get the email from? A neighbor who knew about this, or does your town have some sort of notification system? :wizard: for safety for you all. I hope you both feel better.

On school nights my kids don't get much time since they are so busy, but on their off days they are allowed 1 hr of Wii, 1 hr of computer, & 1 hr of tv (or any combo thereof) After that no more "screens" for the day. They have a sign in sheet where they log in their time on & time to be off so they all know whats expected. This seems have worked best as they know they will all get a turn, they just have to wait.

ETA: of course this changes in the summer (unless we have a bad weather day & are stuck inside). During the summer they are out all day either in the pool or beach so thankfully those priviledges don't get abused.

Ditto from me!

I was getting ready to put my application in at our Disney Store, and then they closed it! I miss it so much.

Hi, all! No school today! I have a massive headache, and I'm waiting for the ibuprofen to work so that I can go get a few things done.

We are heading to my parents' house tomorrow, so I need to do laundry and pack.

Happy first day of Spring! I wish that it felt more like it. We have snowflakes dancing around out there.

The log-in sheet is a great idea. Do you have one sheet next to each electronic or just one sheet overall? I love learning different parenting ideas from you all! :goodvibes

That sounds like a great way to do it. We definitely have days where I lose track of the "screen" times around here.

I love all the ideas, too. I think I stink as a parent, but my kids are turning out terrific, so I guess I'm doing something right.

Chanon- I'd respond to you but you really aren't there are you? It told me that there were 2 Robyn S's and I know for a fact that there is one in Maryland. I find it hard to believe that we are both in MD.

Debbie- :yay: for a great checkup! I agree it is more expensive to eat healthy but I guess in the long run it is much better for us. We've been trying to eliminate certain things from our diet and it's a task but we all feel better.
I'm sure Brandon will adjust quickly to a brother/sister should he need to. :wizard:

Marci- Your ulcer sounds very painful. I tend to get a lot of them and they are no fun.

Tia- Your day sounds fun! Enjoy. Yay for Terra on her Aha moment!!

Molly woke up dry this morning and has continued to use the potty! I hope and pray this is it!!!

Our storm door finally bit the dust morning, the wind got a hold of it and blew the glass out. Thankfully it didn't shatter. It has been broken for a while now but we've managed to "fix" it each time. My aunt worked last week at a building/home products show and she asked me if there was anything we needed. I told her to be on the lookout for a door, the price tag would be perfect. Free! Well she got one and then her husband (he drove down and met her there) promptly gave it to his uncle who they visited on their way home. UGH, thanks! I thought it was a bit rude to say the least. So tonight we get to go shop for a new door.

Good morning DDA!
I've been really trying to get re-started with WW and watching what I eat. When we were at Great Wolf Lodge, I didn't have a lot of choices, so I ate a lot of fruit. Well, now I have a huge ulcer on my tongue, the most painful one I've ever had, and I have that event tonight. UGGHHH. I have the worst timing. At least I'm starting to feel like I'm doing a little better on losing the weight/watching what I eat.

Sending PD out to everyone who needs it. :)

I hope the sore in your mouth heals quickly! :wizard:
I am TRYING to eat sensibly this week. I had lost 2 pounds, gained back 2.5, now I am back down to about .5 less than I was when I started. Not terribly encouraging. There used to be a commercial where the woman said "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I keep telling myself that.

Anyone seen this article:

Children's Place to curtail Disney stores
Retailer is in 'advanced' talks with the Walt Disney Co. to take back many Disney stores.

The line that I find funny is...
"Disney confirmed it is in talks with the company, saying the stores could be an important expansion of the Disney brand."

Ummm, wasn't it already an expansion of the "Disney brand" before they sold the stores the first time? Is it really an "expansion" to take back something that was once yours already?

I saw an article awhile back that Disney had already warned Children's Place that they were violating the licensing agreement by failing to maintain the stores properly. I haven't read this article yet, but it seems logical that they would be getting ready to resume ownership.

Good Morning DDA,

My doctor's visit went well yesterday, my liver enzymes are back to normal. She has actually reduced my BG medicine, as my numbers have been within the target range. She started me on a new medicine for my arthitis and has given me something for the stomach issues, she feels like they me be a combination of meds and the change in eating habits, so we'll see.

She was very pleased with the weight loss, now all I have to do is stay with it, all I can promise is to take it one day at a time.

Best wishes to all of those here who are trying to eat well and lose, it's a struggle that's for sure. Another thing is it's expensive to buy healthy foods, and I think they only charge more because they can.

The AC man is coming today, hopefully it won't cost me a Disney trip

I've got to get the eggs boiled for tomorrow, we're taking Brandon to see Horton, and then we're coming home to dye eggs. We've been dying them together since before he was 2. DD is late and thinks she may be pregnant, my dad asked at lunch yesterday what would we do with another one, and Brandon had this sad look on his face and said "If you get another one you'll forget all about me", he's definitely going to have jealousy issues if it's true.

Have a great day everyone

Debbie, I am glad you are doing well!!
Have fun doing Easter eggs! Princess and I need to do that, but she has just not felt up to it this week!
Poor Brandon! :guilty: I always feel bad for the older sibling when a new baby comes. I know they get over it, but I still feel bad for them. Whichever way things go, I hope that it works out! :wizard:

So everyone knows the struggles Terra has with Chase, right? Still working on Terra not gently pushing Chase out of the toyroom and other little things like that (at least she's gotten more gentle). Well, Aiden, my cousin's 3yo boy, pushed Chase away from his toy yesterday and she fell (lightly) and was crying. Terra got this totally freaked out look on her face and said almost crying, "Aiden pushed Chase". I looked at her kind of shocked thinking, "who are you to talk." She then said very quickly and earnestly, "I'm going to be much nicer to Chase now" and ran over to hug her. Not sure what happened there, but maybe it's a turning point? The whole thing was kind of surreal.

Good luck! :)

Elin & Bernadette- I'm sorry to hear you don't exist:laughing:

Vicki- I hope this Easter will bring you lots of joy, even if it isn't your normal celebration.

Kristine- Where did you order that Bark gadget from?

Elizabeth- I wish I had a burglar alarm. I don't think the parents were home and I guess the kids didn't care that the dogs were barking for hours on end.

Heidi- Your future trip sounds wonderful!

Yep. All of that! :rotfl:
Sorry you don't have a burglar alarm. :guilty: Maybe you can get the bark-stopper. ;)

SEE why I didn't go outside to check out the alarm? :scared1: Be careful!
I hope you and Colby feel better soon!

Ditto from me!

I think I would take a job at TDS just to be a CM! ::yes::

The CMs at my Disney Store have asked me to apply for PT or seasonal, but there are certain days I would be required to work and some of them are days I am with Princess. I was just talking to one of the mgrs. last week and he was telling me what the benefits USED to be vs. what they are now. HUGE difference. Our store was also slated for remodel, but I haven't heard anything else about it.:confused3 With Macy's closing they were supposed to be able to get out of their lease, so I don't know if they are looking at that or just waiting to see what else happens.

I was getting ready to put my application in at our Disney Store, and then they closed it! I miss it so much.

Hi, Beth! Headache, be gone! :wizard:

I love all the ideas, too. I think I stink as a parent, but my kids are turning out terrific, so I guess I'm doing something right.

You are a good mom, Beth! Of course your kids are turning out terrific!

Yippee! The jackhammers are going already! The neighbor told Dadboss it would only be ONE DAY of jackhammering. If I am not mistaken, YESTERDAY was a day! :headache: Princess is coughing her head off and she is still feverish but we are going out today. We have to go to Target and I have to get shoes for DS to wear for band.

DS has the orthodontist this afternoon. We only have TWO more payments on his braces. :cool1: I hope they give us an indication of when the braces can come off. He has been really lax about keeping the rubber bands on so I have a feeling that will prolong his treatment.

Robyn -
Yay for Molly using the potty! What a big girl!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Sorry about your storm door. That was rude of your uncle to give your door away!

Terra is going to start something like this too. I'm making up little tickets 1 each for 15 minute computer sessions and 1 each for a show or dvd. I haven't decided how many of each, but am thinking 4 computer and 3-4 tv/dvd. Then she can see what shows she wants to use the tickets for as otherwise it's just on constantly.

Aww, poor thing, he has had you all to himself for so long.

"If you get another one you'll forget all about me", he's definitely going to have jealousy issues if it's true.
