DDA Chapter 5

Thanks Elizabeth,

That's what's wrong with most diets, we go on them and what we allow ourselves isn't something that we can stay with for any length of time. We need to make changes to our diets that we can live with and stick to them permanently. Now if I can only take my own advice . . . . . .

The main problem is that I don't WANT to change how and what I eat. I am REALLY happy eating the way I do now! :rotfl2: Dragging around 30 extra pounds is kind of a bummer, but I want to keep eating ice cream at 10 PM and not exercise! I want to continue with my bad habits and drop the weight without trying! ;)

Who did you get the email from? A neighbor who knew about this, or does your town have some sort of notification system? :wizard: for safety for you all. I hope you both feel better.

The school sent out the email and it was apparently the buzz around town. Of course Chris and I both work in the next town over so we didn't hear about it until I checked my email this morning. I haven't seen anyone around today and I have definitely been looking

What if you did both at the same time? Like eat ice cream while on a treadmill? Would they cross each other out? ;)

Well,

I worked for 15 years in corporate America...and then became a Realtor...so more or less I was always my own boss.

Next, I took a job at TDS because I was in love with the concept of being a CM...

The very very bad:

....never in my life have I seen worse pay. I think if I would have clipped a few coupons and did more buy 1 get 1 free I would have been more ahead than working there.

the things they made you do I was shocked by...example...after working register...straightening that horrible mound of stuffed animals for the millionth time...when the store closes...someone has to vacuum...are you kidding me?! Where I came from so to speak, there was a cleaning crew..I didn't know WE were the cleaning crew!! :scared1:

Any time you left the store, break or lunch etc...they search your purse...which I found terribly demeaning...

I think bottom line is...I am not a retail person. It truly gave me a new appreciation for those who work in that field..I have no clue how you do it.

Plus....with DVC, the current employee perks, I didn't find all that amazing.
That is one thing that I do not like at all (& I find demeaning) is the bag search. I just think it is the worst part of my job & it makes you feel very untrustworthy. Yes, it can stink & I can't say I will be doing this for years to come (I refuse to clean the figures way up above the registers, my asthma would go wild) I do clean the windows in the morning but we do not have to vaccuum or stuff like that. I also do not touch the "mountain" It just looks like cr@P 5 minutes later!:lmao:

The parents that come in think they are in Disneyworld..not a store. "Go ahead Bobby, play in stuffed animals, isn't he cute?":rolleyes1

I just paid 3.28 for gas about 20 minutes ago. Another gas station that I passed was at 3.39.

Mom lives out in NV - in the middle of nowhere mind you - and her backyard is basically Death Valley. There is ONE gas station in all of Death Valley (that none of the locals would use mind you because they know where and when to get gas when driving through a desert ;) ) and this gas station was at 5.20 last Saturday.
 :scared1:

Well DD had a monthly visitor this morning so Brandon won't have to worry about us forgetting all about him. I would love to have a granddaughter but now is not the best time for them, since they are struggling financially with all the fallout from SIL's surgery, they got a break on the surgery itself but there is plenty more to go with it.

The AC man left without putting me in the poorhouse, but it most likely isn't the end of it.

DH doesn't care to wear matching shirts and I can only get him to wear one on his BDay for our November trip, even then he prefers it to not be covered wtih characters, he does love Chernabog so this is what I came up with,

I think it will meet with his approval.

As for gas prices, I refuse to even think about it.
Nice design!

Anne Marie - Yah, the "Nothing tastes as good..." line isn't working that well for me, either. :rolleyes1 Today I have had a container of organic yogurt, 2 slices of apple, and a South Beach Diet granola bar thing. I don't think I will be able to keep this up very long.
I have only had a bowl of cocoa krispies & skim milk today...not because I am being good but because theres no food in the house..I am not hungry though, I know I will be eating like a woman possessed in 28 days!:yay:

Doesn't matter - I don't have a treadmill! :rotfl2:

DH just called and said he did NOT pass the exam for the promotion. :guilty: He can try again in 6 months. He DOES get to keep his current position.

He said he got some sort of packet and he is supposed to sit down with the supervisors and put together a plan to help him learn in whatever areas he is lacking. I am irritated that he didn't pass the test because it was one of those that didn't have right or wrong answers. It was "pick the BEST" answer. :headache: The one example he gave was one about if he was a supervisor and he went to an account and saw an opportunity to sell additional product to the store would he do that, or would he tell the store that the driver would do it, or would he go to the driver and suggest that the driver approach the store. The end result is more product being sold to the store - HOW you arrive at the end result isn't really all that relevant! (But apparently it IS, and he chose the WRONG best answer.) Well, whatever. He'll try again next time.

It's $3.85 a gallon here.:sad2:
:scared1: We range from $3.06 to $3.19 depending on where you go.

This is one of the things I fight at the preschool, too. I will sweep up after class and even vacuum the rug. I will not, however, clean the bathrooms or mop floors there. That shouldn't be my responsibility. Oh, we have to take the garbage out to the dumpster, too. Personally, I don't think that "real" teachers do any of that, so I don't think that I should have to either. I am willing to make some concessions, though.

Our cooperative preschool requires the parents to go in an clean on a rotating basis :headache: that was one of the reasons that my kids didn't go there. As parents you had to go in and be the room parent, rotate making snacks, rotate cleaning and do a ton of fund raising. All that plus a huge monthly fee. No thank you.

Tell him that it is very manly ;)

Colby is still not up to par and even asked for a nap this afternoon. I need to wake him up soon as I don't want any accidents. He was dry for the 4th consecutive day :cool1: He seems to have his head wrapped around it :thumbsup2

I still have a sore throat and my head feels all mushy.

Our mortgage officer called again and wants us to sign a bunch of paper work to get things moving. According to her we have the highest approval rating possible so it should fly through. I had to remind her that I need time BEFORE the appraisal to get things done so flying through is NOT my top priority at the moment. I want at least this weekend to see how much I can achieve. It seems like such a daunting task at this point.:headache:

I am sorry Elizabeth. I am glad he gets to keep his current spot though.

Being allowed to keep his spot is actually the very best outcome since he didn't pass the exam. I am HOPING they don't just kind of abandon him now. He was about a week away from being finished with his first term in that spot when they all of a sudden had to scramble to get him on a convenience store route because he had never been on one. They had been saying he needed to be cross trained, but they always need him to cover grocery stores so cross-training just got put on the back burner. He is really good at what he does so they know they can send him out and he'll do a great job without having to be micro-managed. That also makes them kind of lazy about teaching him new things, and then the term is over and he's no better off than when he started! So I hope they are serious about helping him fill in the gaps in his knowledge.

Thanks for all the concerns for our neighborhood. I talked to Chris this morning and he says we should only answer the door while sporting a 357 magnum :rotfl2: I can just imagine the look on the UPS guys face :lmao: I think I'll just stick to common sense and looking out the window before going to the door.

Deb - I hope you and Colby feel better! :wizard: There is no way Princess would be asleep if she wasn't sick. Those guys next door sound like they are trying to shoot down a helicopter with a machine gun. :headache:
Good luck on the home improvements! Hopefully the timeline for that will all work out!
That co-op preschool would NOT be the place for me! :scared:
We looked at swim lessons for one of my charges where everyone had to take turns being the "swim" parent. (The lessons were at a private home.) Which basically meant you had to be responsible for all the drama so the instructor never had to stop teaching. The swim parent would escort kids to the potty, fix hair barettes, and whatever else came up. I told my boss I was NOT willing to do that. And I wouldn't want to enroll my child in a class that operated that way!

Great design Debbie!

Elizabeth I do not exercise either, I just plain outright do not like it :rotfl:

Deb sounds like the mortgage people need to slow down & let you get things taken care of at home.

Anne Marie I really like the way you deal with computer/game time. I could have used that advice a few years ago :thumbsup2 The boys do not have their own computer anymore & getting on Gary's computer is a big no-no. So I do let them get on mine, but I do limit it.
