I usually watch him when he buys something, though, so I never have figured out how he lost that money. I only gave him about $30 each day to carry - we locked the rest in the safe. If he REALLY wanted something and didn't have enough money with him I would loan him what he needed and then take it out of his envelope that evening. The thing about the gift card is if he loses it then he loses ALL of his money. 
Maybe the best thing to do for him is what I do for me - charge back to the room and then pay the room charges with a gift card. Then I would just have to make sure he knew how much money he had left to spend. We don't put charging privileges on his room key, but DH or I can charge for him. Maybe that's what I will do for the bulk of his money, then give him $5 or $10 each day to carry. 
He is the exact opposite of your kids as far as allowance - he wants NO Disney money. I was really good last year about getting him Disney money every week so he had $150 to spend in August. This year he has been really snarky about only wanting "normal" money so he can go spend it all at Target or Toys R Us or whatever. I keep telling him he won't have any money for Disney, but he says he doesn't care. He doesn't care NOW. In 130ish days when he has no money for the trip he will care BIG TIME! 
We haven't heard of the "pinch" thing either.

) Anyway, it looks like DH is in a holding pattern until he hears if he passed that online exam. 
I am supposed to work late tomorrow, unless Momboss changes her plans. If they have to fly out to a funeral on Wednesday she may not go to her function Tuesday night. I suppose I could attempt to send DH to conferences, but it would be better if I went. I could take Princess with me but I am afraid she would be rather bored by the process.

Losing the $ is what I am afraid of..I am going to get gift cards for sure. YOu are right, DS will change his mind when he gets to Disney about the $. I have go back now & figure out how much my kids have earned since last August..I think they are going to get more spending $ than me.

So I guess he'll go to WDW for 16 nights and only have $135 to spend and that will be his own fault! Last August he had $150 for 9 nights.
We have 19 weeks before we leave. If I start putting $5 per week on a gift card for him he'll have $95, plus whatever he has now. I think that's MAYBE $40. He had money left over in August, but he spent it in December. I keep telling him that this trip is longer and he will probably find more things he wants, but he flatly refuses to listen to me.
If I can stay away from the pins I won't need that much souvenir money. I usually buy a shirt or a sweatshirt and several pins. I do want a new baseball cap because mine is starting to get grungy. Still, I think I can manage with about $100. DH hardly buys any souvenirs at all. I usually buy a shirt for him and give it to him when we get home. He did buy a camera strap in December, but he typically doesn't buy anything.
