Good Morning DDA

Pretty cold here. Maybe a passing snow shower tonight but nothing significant.

Here is the link to our photopass pictures. Pictures 62-65 are some good ones. It rained most of the Pirate & Princess party so these are the only ones we got that night in our costumes. Pictures 40-41 show our Segway shirts that Deb designed.

I'm still not caught up and have a Disney trip to write for you all. However, that will have to wait. Things didn't go so great at work last week with me off (I cheated and peeked at email on Thursday which was a good thing because I averted a catastrophe but there will still be cleanup tomorrow). I'm off to bed as I'll be up early to try to get caught up on all my email. I haven't looked again since Friday morning to make sure things were set for the day. Have a great Monday DDA. I don't know when I'll be on tomorrow.

Yes, you're seeing right, but as it was just decided on Thursday, you're not too far behind the curve. We started out at the Swan, then when AP rates were released, I held a std. AKL room (was a great price with the discount). However, after giving it a lot of thought, I pounced on an AP rate for the GF (wasn't available at first), and I'm splitting the room difference in cost with my dad as a Mother's Day gift for my mom (MD will be a few days after we get back). My mom LOVES the GF, and really wanted to stay there, but I had her convinced it was way too expensive. She will be so thrilled when we drive up that first full day (we get in late on the 30th, and are staying that night at ASMu).

I'm sure you'll love the GF!!!

The meeting wasn't that bad but they are highly frustrated about things that are out of my control. But since I am the rep from Girl Scout council they see, I am there release valve. Often times I agree with what they say but can not tell them I agree with what they say. Irritating to say the least.

The situation on your road doesn't sound good.

We bought some new luggage for the cruise & Disney. I choose a red set so I can find it easily at the airport. Our old ones are black & so is everyone elses! We also got a nice garment bag to hold Dana's suits & the girls dresses. He can also use it for his business trips.

I love luggage.

Aidan update...

So one year ago this morning, we celebrated the birth of our third child. Aidan Pierce McIntosh was celebrated by many family and friends. In two days though his world would change and so would ours. Today family came togethor to celebrate his birth and the year he had conquered, and with all he went through I think conquered is a good word to use. We know that it was only by the grace of God that our son is still with us today. Many times over this last year he could have been plucked from our side, but he fought through and never gave up. Soon he will be going under the knife again and we ask that people continue to lift him up in prayer. We are hoping for a quick decision to be made by the insurance company, so we can start working on his implants, but for now we are working on learning sign as a family.

Our other prayer is for our daughter, we are trying to get her into one of the top ranked DISD Elementary Schools, Stonewall Jackson. This school is where DISD houses the hearing impared even though only 45 of the 500+ students are classified as such. What this school does do is educate and challange. They also teach sign three days a week and Mya would be in class with another girl who currenlty has cochlear implants, so it would be nice for her to learn from her.

Continued prayers for Aidan. That school sounds perfect ofr Mya.

Anne Marie -Yay for luggage! Red is the new black, you know. Our luggage is black and royal blue mostly, but we have Big Red the 29" Samsonite and also a red carry-on.

The bag I take to Disney most often is black and royal but all the others are black. But my new LL Bean duffle that I used as a carryon is orange floral.

The boys have their Stanford Achievement Testing this week, so I'm glad it's rained more last night/this morning and hopefully baseball and soccer will be cancelled. The thunderstorms that came through during the night did wake me up, and with the time change, it is making things seem a little off.

Becky got quite a few more autographs this trip. Genie, Mushu, Abu, the Palace Royal Guard, Aladdin finally (we have missed him for the last couple of years), Jafar, Mr. Penguin, Alice, Beast (can't sign), Anastasia, Drizella, and Jiminy Cricket.

Who is the Palace Royal Guard? That is one autograph that we don't have.

Deb got lots of compliments on her segway design. We had several people ask where we got our shirts.

I'm finally caught up again.

I've managed to get laundry caught up too. I washed bedding yesterday and it took forever to dry which put everything else on hold. Maybe I can managed to clean the bathroom or something else now.

So I called the insurance office AGAIN and told my agent AGAIN that the billing is STILL screwed up, and that now they are saying instead of subtracting what we don't owe I am supposed to pay it and wait to be refunded.

She said she will call them and make sure they fix it (which they haven't bothered to do the past THREE times she called ) and that I should send my payment (minus the premiums we DON'T owe) to her instead of the billing office. Hmm. OK. I guess we'll see how THAT turns out! So for now I am holding my nasty letters and we'll see if they can fix it. If not I do believe the insurance commissioner will be getting a call/note/e-mail from me.

We bought 2 camera lenses from EvilBay last night. The one seller is really great with responding to questions and he had really detailed photos of the lens on the auction. I feel pretty good about that one because he sells lots of camera stuff. He actually buys almost all of those lenses that go up for auction, then he resells them. We ended up paying a bit more for it than if we bought one from somebody else, but he sees enough of these to make what I HOPE is a good call on the condition of the lens. We were e-mailing back and forth last night to get my last few questions cleared up, and as soon as I paid for the lens he thanked me, said he would ship it out today, etc. Nice guy.

The other one appears to be just the guy's personal camera stuff that he is selling, but I haven't heard a peep from him since I paid for the item. That's a personal peeve of mine. If I pay you a chunk of money you RESPOND and tell me my item is on the way. I hope it goes well. He doesn't offer insurance but he guarantees the lens for 30 days against malfunction, so he better package it properly and hope it doesn't get lost or broken in transit!

since I am trying to make the trip in Aug a suprise, and the cost of plain onseies or T-shirts is the same as th ones that all redy have designs on them at target and walmart. I went ahead and bought 8 different designs in size 12 months for Virginia.

I ordered Olivia a swimsuit and rashguard shirt from disney shopping last night. I ordered a 2ndsuit for her to have at moms and will just use a regular shirt at moms, I had bought Virginia a swimsuit at walmart that is Ariel, I found a Minnie one at savers last week for Virginia for my moms house. she has a pool for them at her house and an ariel sprinkler for her house. just need to find a swim hat for Virginia in purple or white for our house and red or white for moms house.

Olivia can still wear the shirts from our 2006 trip as they were big on her then. I ordered a gift card for motherhood maternity from mypoints so I can get some nursing tops for our trip.

101 Dalmations was just rereleased.


I got Joe the Pixar Shorts DVD. I don't know if they will get movies in their Easter Baskets or if I'll leave Lizzy & Joe a movie when I go to WDW in May.

The Bee Movie comes out tomorrow. Is that any good????

The Bee Movie was OK, I thought. I liked the beginning and the middle, but it was too long and the end took WAY too long to wrap things up. We wouldn't rent it because we have seen it, but I would suggest renting it to see if your family likes it before you buy it.

Sally - Hi, and welcome to our family! I'm Glynis a SAHM to Katie (10), Jacob (8) and my twins Leslie and Mary (5, but they will be 6 on the 21st). Been to WDW once, but go to DL on a regular basis. I'm glad to see that you are feeling comfortable just jumping in! Very cool!


Alan is now making dinner for us all. Teriyaki chicken with sweet, sticky rice and Asian hot sauce. Yumm! And I don't have to cook it!!!!

Hi Sally. I'm Vicki. I'm a Disneyholic as well. Chuck & I just purchased DVC because we love our Disney trips so much. I have 22 and 19 year old daughters who are in college. Both are currently living at home going to the community college. We just got back from a week-long Disney trip. We have another planned in June with my mother, sister, niece & nephew.

I Vicki, I've been to Disney about 20 times in the last 18 years. I wish I could go more then once a year. I have done that on a few occassions when air fare was down.

I can't imagine why your sister would think that. It sounds perfectly reasonable to me. However, my sister thinks the same thing of me as well as my friends and my coworkers and ... I work very hard as I'm a workaholic and Disney is my release.

I think my sisters need the help! How can you not love Disney?

I'm Jennifer and a Disneyholic as well. I'm an RN, and mommy to 2 princess, Olivia 4 and Virginia 4 months. We are planning a surprise trip in Aug. to WDW.

I love surprises!

So my road is still closed. There is a police car and a barricade at the end I came home from. There is another half barricade up further. The other end is totally shut off. I was questioned about where I lived before I could return home. You can tell that there are a bunch of lights in the direction where the house is that the police cars and coroner was at earlier.

Sally- Welcome! I am Becky, I am 25 and live in PA. I work for the Girl Scouts and I am taking classes for a Masters in Non-profit management. I love Disney and I miss living less then an hour from the parks like I did when I went to college at the University of Central Florida and worked at Disney. I hope to move back some day soon.

Hi Becky, my BIL aunt works for the Girl Scouts also. I was a scout when I was younger. Just a few years ago.

Had a busy weekend here..didn't even have to time DIS!

I've read a tip that can help with black luggage. Stencil them. Maybe a Mickey head in a spot here and there. I thought next time I got a suitcase, I'd try it.

If Olivia's swim suit, shirt and flip flops comes in time she will get that, if not unsure. Virginia will get her swimsuit and not sure what else.
