DDA Chapter 5

John's MRI was normal. Good news, but frustrating as they still have no ideas what's going on. He goes back to the ENT tomorrow afternoon. My grandmother's surgery is at 8:30am tomorrow. My parents were in route to her house when I talked to them tonight. I'll keep you posted.

I am so happy to hear that the MRI was normal. I understand the frustration though. It was what we dealt with for Becky until the table test. Your family will continue to be in my prayers until you get your answer!

My grandmother did great in surgery. She came home today after the lumpectomy. They will not do any other treatment. The surgeon feels he got it all, but if not, then this is it. Everyone is very pleased with the decision. If he got it all, then he said it would be 5 to 10 years before it came back. She's 85, so that's not really an issue.

John went to the ENT and saw the doctor (not the PA) today. He scoped his sinuses, really listened to him. He diagnosed him with Ageusia, but it's very hard to find the cause. He put him on steroids as it may be inflamed and irriatated nerve endings. If it is the cause, John should see results within 7 days. If it doesn't help, then they will have to explore other possibilities. Thanks for the prayers.

I'm happy to see this good news for both your grandmother and John.

Are you bored already? The first on is of Lexi. She's alot bigger now. The rest are of Kirsta. My Disney version of the Poodle skirt, Dinner with Cinderella (we had all kinds of people tracking us down to tell us how beautiful the dress was), MNSSHP as Cinderella and we had so many people ask where I got the dress becuase thier daughter wanted one. And CM telling me it was the most origional they had seen in ages. And my favorite, and embellished Tshirt and skort.

We could never be bored with custom designs (Disney or not). It just makes it that much better that so many are Disney. :cheer2:

I'm still not caught up and have a Disney trip to write for you all. However, that will have to wait. Things didn't go so great at work last week with me off (I cheated and peeked at email on Thursday which was a good thing because I averted a catastrophe but there will still be cleanup tomorrow). I'm off to bed as I'll be up early to try to get caught up on all my email. I haven't looked again since Friday morning to make sure things were set for the day. Have a great Monday DDA. I don't know when I'll be on tomorrow.

Welcome home, Vicki! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Glynis - Sounds like a fun day trip and party.

Terry - Glad your exciting evening was a safe one.

Denise - Buckets of :wizard: that John's hints of flavor are a sign of good things to come. I can imagine that list!

Great recap, Tia! I will "ditto"! :thumbsup2

Did I see GF in your ticker? Did I miss that? Is that where you're staying with your Mom? Are you going to do tea there with her?

Yes, you're seeing right, but as it was just decided on Thursday, you're not too far behind the curve. ;) We started out at the Swan, then when AP rates were released, I held a std. AKL room (was a great price with the discount). However, after giving it a lot of thought, I pounced on an AP rate for the GF (wasn't available at first), and I'm splitting the room difference in cost with my dad as a Mother's Day gift for my mom (MD will be a few days after we get back). My mom LOVES the GF, and really wanted to stay there, but I had her convinced it was way too expensive. ;) She will be so thrilled when we drive up that first full day (we get in late on the 30th, and are staying that night at ASMu).

I don't know if we'll do the tea or not. We did it in Aug. '05 when we stayed there for our last "girl's trip". I think we both enjoyed it, but don't know if it's necessary again. (Admittedly, I'm not a huge tea person.)

I finally got my pictures all burned today! One copy is already in the firebox and have an extra copy ready to be stored at Kristi's house. I also got my music files cleaned up. There's no reason to be concerned that I have 184 hours of music loaded on this computer 133 of those hours are Disney music and 113 of those are WDW park music, right? :thumbsup2 Now, admittedly I have a lot of CDs on our computer upstairs that are not down here, but I'm guessing that the Disney music would still be leading by a landslide. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I think I'm right there with you, Tia! My Disney collection (followed closely by my Christmas collection) eats up a ton of memory, both on my external HD, as well as my iPod!

Vicki - I absolutely loved your photos. You all have such wonderful smiles! I was really struck at how impressive Spaceship Earth looks in those night-time photos. The symmetry of it is just beautiful in that light (and w/o the wand!).

Tammi - loved the pics of the kids, and GREAT job on the science fair project, Nicholas! :thumbsup2

Karen - I like both necklaces, but think I like the first one just a little bit better. Good luck with your decision! And have fun at the HLSR! I haven't been to it in several years, but my in-laws have season tickets. My FIL loves the bullriding.

So my road is still closed. There is a police car and a barricade at the end I came home from. There is another half barricade up further. The other end is totally shut off. I was questioned about where I lived before I could return home. You can tell that there are a bunch of lights in the direction where the house is that the police cars and coroner was at earlier.

The meeting wasn't that bad but they are highly frustrated about things that are out of my control. But since I am the rep from Girl Scout council they see, I am there release valve. Often times I agree with what they say but can not tell them I agree with what they say. Irritating to say the least.

Vickie- Welcome Home! As for Segways, in college my friend Peter's brother was a Segway campus rep for Miami University. UCF where I went refused to allow a Segway rep, but many of us wanted to be one. We would ride his Segway around at Pete's home, when his brother was also home with the Segway. He had the Segway at no cost and rode it around campus trying to sell them to other students. He got some other neat perks as well. So perhaps, he can convince the college he teaches classes at to allow him to be a campus rep and ride them around the campus. I have no idea if this program still exists.

Sally- Welcome! I am Becky, I am 25 and live in PA. I work for the Girl Scouts and I am taking classes for a Masters in Non-profit management. I love Disney and I miss living less then an hour from the parks like I did when I went to college at the University of Central Florida and worked at Disney. I hope to move back some day soon.

I should head to bed, I have a busy week. I am out Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Have a great week!

It's amazing how many people asked my girls whether they were twins this trip. Not just the day that they wore Deb's matching shirts either. I knew they looked alike but somehow never realized exactly how much. What's weird is that at their age, I could have been Katrina's twin easily.

I also somehow didn't realize how much taller Katrina was than Becky & I. Katrina is almost 5'7", I'm almost 5'6" and Becky is 5'5". That two inches was really apparent in some of the pics from this trip.
I think you pass as her twin now! When I was looking at the pictures I was thinking how she looks exactly like you.

Great pictures! I love your costumes for the P&PP :thumbsup2

Here is the link to our photopass pictures. Pictures 62-65 are some good ones. It rained most of the Pirate & Princess party so these are the only ones we got that night in our costumes. Pictures 40-41 show our Segway shirts that Deb designed.

Good morning,

Vicki,
Welcome home! The photopass pictures are great. The P&PP pictures are my favorite. The costumes are awesome!

Tammi,
Nice pictures!!! Nicholas's science project looks fabulous!!!

Had a busy weekend here..didn't even have to time DIS!:scared:

We bought some new luggage for the cruise & Disney. I choose a red set so I can find it easily at the airport. Our old ones are black & so is everyone elses!:headache: We also got a nice garment bag to hold Dana's suits & the girls dresses. He can also use it for his business trips.:thumbsup2

Aidan update...

So one year ago this morning, we celebrated the birth of our third child. Aidan Pierce McIntosh was celebrated by many family and friends. In two days though his world would change and so would ours. Today family came togethor to celebrate his birth and the year he had conquered, and with all he went through I think conquered is a good word to use. We know that it was only by the grace of God that our son is still with us today. Many times over this last year he could have been plucked from our side, but he fought through and never gave up. Soon he will be going under the knife again and we ask that people continue to lift him up in prayer. We are hoping for a quick decision to be made by the insurance company, so we can start working on his implants, but for now we are working on learning sign as a family.

Our other prayer is for our daughter, we are trying to get her into one of the top ranked DISD Elementary Schools, Stonewall Jackson. This school is where DISD houses the hearing impared even though only 45 of the 500+ students are classified as such. What this school does do is educate and challange. They also teach sign three days a week and Mya would be in class with another girl who currenlty has cochlear implants, so it would be nice for her to learn from her.

Has anyone tried to sign into the AP site lately? The past 2 days I have been repeatedly told I was entering an incorrect number. Does not seem to matter if I put in mine or Bob's...

Good morning, DDA!

Becky - I hope all the excitement has toned down at the end of your road!

Elin - Sorry, haven't tried the AP site lately.

Mac - Best of luck getting the transfer order for Mya!!:wizard: Happy Birthday at Aidan!!:dance3:

Anne Marie -Yay for luggage! Red is the new black, you know.;) Our luggage is black and royal blue mostly, but we have Big Red the 29" Samsonite and also a red carry-on.

Lindsay - How fun to stay at GF with your mom! :goodvibes

Vicki - I hope today isn't too wild for you! :wizard:

Tammi -- the pics of the kids are awesome!

Karen -- sorry about the job. I hope you find something soon. There are a number of great crock pot recipes on the What's for dinner thread.

Vicki -- welcome home! I loved the pictures. Especially the ones at the party in costume, and number 43 (with the girls) and #93 with you and Chuck in the HSMusical pose.

Sally -- cute designs!

Denise -- I hope John continues to see improvement.

This weekend was crazy. Work, errands for work, clothes shopping for Easter for my kids and the other 5 nieces and nephews, more work, a Mavericks basketball game, Sunday School and Church, baseball practice, soccer practice, dinner with the family, and getting ready for school, work and that darned audit this week.

The boys have their Stanford Achievement Testing this week, so I'm glad it's rained more last night/this morning and hopefully baseball and soccer will be cancelled. The thunderstorms that came through during the night did wake me up, and with the time change, it is making things seem a little off.

I'm glad Dallas ISD and SMU are both out this week. Maybe traffic will be a little more bearable.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Marci - sounds like you are really busy again this week! Good luck to the boys on their standardized tests this week too.

Elin,
I just got in the passholder site o.k.

ETA: I got in but it is taking a long time to go from screen to screen
