Denise I saved this from one of the threads. Unfortunatley I have not tried it yet.

Corned Beef and Cabbage
3 carrots, cut in 3" pieces
3/4 lb of corned beef brisket
2-3 medium onions, quartered
3/4 - 1 1/4 cups of water
half a small head of cabbage, cut in wedges

1. Layer all ingredients except cabbage in crock
2. Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours, high 5-6 hours
3. Add cabbage wedges to liquid, pushing down to moisten. Turn to high, cook an additional 2-3 hours.

Note:
To cook more cabbage than crock will hold, cook separately in skillet. Remove 1 cup broth from crock during last hour of cooking. Pour over cabbage wedges in skillet. Cover and cook slowly for 20-30 minutes.

Variations:
1. Add 4 medium potatoes, halved, with the onions.
2. Top individual servings with mixture of sour cream and horseradish.

Have a safe trip, Vicki!
I am sure your sister & her kids will be thrilled to see you! I know they will want to talk bout the WDW trip! :goodvibes
Ditto!

Good morning all...Last night was a blast, just a bunch of friends playing cards and a good old fashioned witch session too. Just what I needed!!

Today we are headed to my niece's birthday party. The girls are very excited, it's a swim party. Daddy not so much as he is the one to go swimming. I get to be the party photographer!
I'm glad you enjoyed your evening. Have fun not swimming at the swimming party. ;) :thumbsup2

"then the baby will be addicted to it" no clue how someone 3 weeks old can have any addictions...buy hey, that's just me. you know how it is...people get things in their mind...especially first time moms...you can't tell them a thing...nor would I want to... I just smiled & nodded...laughing on the inside
I give it 4 more days. Anyone want in on the action? :rotfl2:

OK, let me throw this meal thing out there for those of you still on here to take a look at.

For our meals in September we have planned the following lunches: Biergarten, Coral Reef, Tutto Italia (or its replacement), and Chefs de France

Dinners include: California Grill, Citricos, Kona Cafe' and Yachtsman Steakhouse

We need another lunch now that we arrive in the a.m. instead of the early evening. Epcot will be a madhouse that Saturday since it is the first weekend of the F&W Festival. We would prefer to stay away from there that afternoon. We are eating a late dinner at CA Grill (Wishes is at 10:00 that night so it fits our dining preferences perfectly!) so we can eat a pretty substantial meal for lunch if we wish. We can use our DlxDDP or pay OOP using DDE. Any suggestions?
I would suggest anything at any of the monorail resorts or WL. How about Artiste Point or whatever that is over there?

Right. :rolleyes1 I guess I better learn to bite my tongue before I have grandchildren. Nah. I will just tell my DIL she is doing it all wrong. I know how to raise babies, people PAY me to do it, so obviously I am qualified to tell any DILs who come my way that they are doing it wrong! ;) :rotfl2:
Oh you crack me up! :lmao: :lmao:

Please explain to me why I am going to my parents house for Easter. It is only going to be in the low 40s up there. Here it is supposed to be in the mid-upper 60's. Here the trees are all blooming, the daffodils are open, the grass is turning green. It's going to be dismal up there. Blech.

Has anyone seen Michael Clayton? or August Rush? They are both on PPV tonight. I might watch one.

August Rush is the movie for our plane ride home--havent seen it yet!
So my lovely 8 year old DD was missing for a bit this evening.
.
How scary--glad she is okay!
Hi, everyone. The damage is VERY bad and quite extensive. 28 people hurt, some buildings have collapsed, all of downtown Atlanta is closed, they are playing the rest of the SEC basketball tournament at Georgia Tech with no fans. We are supposed to get another round of very severe weather early this afternoon with more tornadoes. It is very eerie to watch. We had tickets to the game last night but didn't go.
Scary!
 for you, Beth. I hope the weekend in Albany helps make you feel a little better. How sad for her family. :sad1:
Ditto to this

Hello folks....

just popping in to say "hi" :wave2:
Hi Kristine!!

This is true -- but only because I'm super picky and you're a great hostess. But who doesn't like pizza?! ;)

It's probably easier than listening to any flack than if you don't go

Maybe the weather will change & it will be sunny & warm :wizard:

Yes! That's it!

Jen - I'm so glad you are having a great time.

It is so nice here. I just went outside and washed the van. I wish I had a power washer. I'd do the deck. For some crazy reason I'm feeling motivated today.

Do you WANT them to come to your house? If you do, you could call and just run it past them.
Motivated, eh? Well, come on over! DH took DS to the lake for a bit and I am doing laundry. I could use some motivation! Maybe then I would accomplish something besides laundry!

Jonathan brought home laundry in a bag big enough to fit a large body! I am on the 6th load!!

I just called and made an ADR for Tutto Italia. We were going to eat CS that night, so if the restaurant does close it isn't like we can't go back to our original plan!

he caught me in a weak moment...you know the old I haven't seen him in 3 months...getting teeth ripped out tomorrow story...although I haven't recovered from the last time he did his own laundry:scared1::scared1::scared1:. It was SCARY!

Um, why are YOU on the 6th load? (Asks the helicopter mom who does her child's school projects. :rolleyes1 )

If he does laundry like DH I can see the appeal in just doing it yourself. DH was off last Tuesday. I didn't get our laundry finished last weekend, so he said he would work on it. Hmm.
There was a load of towels still in the washer YESTERDAY that he had forgotten about!:scared: So he washed them AGAIN.
He also doesn't gather up ALL of the laundry and sort it before he starts, so we end up with little dribs and drabs of stuff that can't go together. It is easier for me to just do it all. :sad2:

His laundry style is to wash everything together...and stuff it so full that no water can possibly fit in!!!:sad2:

if you need hotel suggestions...let us know

Thank you, I will! The only area I'm familiar with at all is a few blocks from Navy Pier and that has been awhile. So I had figured I'd start there if looking for a hotel on my own. I'll check around Midway for sure. Thanks again.
