DDA Chapter 5

Oh Elizabeth guess what I discovered today. We drove down to Richmond this afternoon for a big craft fair. About 40 miles from here is a Dillards, right off I95. You'll have to let me know when they have great sales. It is basically the same as a Macy's?

It's pretty similar.
Foley's was always my favorite, but since Macy's took over I have just had to deal with it.

I like Dillard's because they have Wacoal bras and Jones NY Sport & Lauren clothing for me, and a decent selection of stuff for DH & DS. They also have good luggage and good home stuff like bedding and towels.

They do not run "coupon" sales like Macy's so unless something is marked down you pay full price. The pricing is also not uniform from one location to another which drives me batty. Their return policy is 30 days, period, the end. But they put bar codes on your purchases so you don't have to keep up with the receipts, which is nice. Several times a year they run an extra 30% off all clearance merchandise which is awesome!

We were in Dillard's today but with DH and DS it is impossible to accomplish anything.

Becky - great pictures!

Debbie - love the T-shirt design. Very original!

Virginia Center Commons! One of our favorite malls. And Dillard's is similar to Macy's but with different lines. The store at that mall is divided up into two different parts of the mall like the JCPenney's is here at Spotsylvania Town Center.

I guess that's it. Maybe someday I'll venture down there.

well, maybe I will venture with you... :rotfl:
That's a good idea. I might drive you crazy though, the way I shop. I tend to browse, which means I quickly walk around and if something hasn't jumped off the rack and caught my eye, they don't have anything that I like. Have I mentioned that I hate shopping.

Did you get any packing done?
Absolutely nothing!!!:sad2: After Daniel got in from baseball we went to Modell's to get him new cleats, baseball pants, bat, gloves, & helmet. Then we had dinner at Friendly's to celebrate the kids good report cards. I just got the kids to sleep.

Oh, good. It ends tomorrow!:rotfl2: Of course we could have aced the "singles" challenge!:rotfl2:
DH's schedule is not conducive to that sort of activity since he goes to bed before DS! Even when he has the next day off he is asleep by 8 PM because that's what his body is used to. He knows better than to bother me when he wakes up in the morning, so those encounters are incredibly rare for us.:rotfl2:
 :rolleyes1

Debbie,
Nice cruise designs!

Becky,
Wild pictures....I would be scared walking around there with critter tracks. I prefer to hike at the mall!:lmao:

Kristine,
Good luck with the deal.:wizard: Also hope all goes well for Jonathan & his teeth..Ouch! Thats no fun!

Tammi,
That was sweet of you to take Bethany shopping for Bob's present. Sounds like you have formed a wonderful bond with not only your man but his dd.

P.S. I HATE shopping too.

Earlier this week I happened to check the Delta site and our flight itinerary for the September/October trip. Imagine my surprise (and horror!) to discover that our 12:30 flight hand been canceled and we were rescheduled for one that leaves Richmond at 3:30 instead. I had booked my flight with SkyMiles and Bob's with cash. There would have been almost no reason to go to WDW that day at all, since this is a somewhat abbreviated trip.

So, armed with great info from our resident AAA travel agent ;) I called the SkyMiles people on Friday morning. Not only was Ms. Klein understanding, but she told me that since they had changed the schedule I could have any flight I wanted, including ones that were not previously available with the number of SkyMiles I had to work with!

So, we are now scheduled to leave Richmond at 7:15 in the morning and it is a nonstop flight that will allow us practically a half day more than what we had before.

I realized that this now means we will have to eat another meal at WDW.........................................

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yay for the earlier flights. I'm sure you can find a restaurant that you'd like to try ;)

Hello folks....

just popping in to say "hi" :wave2:

Welcome back stranger. I've really missed you.

it seems like once we changed the October cruise (for timing reasons) to June...that it just keeps getting longer & longer. With the crazy airfare, we have now extended it 5 days...so we are gone 21 days:eek: 10 in in AKV concierge, 1 in Port Canavrel, 3 on the cruise and now 7 at BWV. I have never gone on such a long trip before

That sounds like an amazing trip. What are your dates now?

Hi Elin ...I:) am still planning on buying that wine gadget...but now I have found 3 more models to chose from...I am not good with all these choices...Bill on the other hand wants to know "why can't we just use the damn refrigerator"?

My next gadget:

My neighbors 2 dogs irritate the crap out of me with their barking...so this is the "Super Bark Free Bark Stopper" and they disguise it as a bird house :rotfl2:

I hope that it works

Here's a couple of pics of the newest addition...Bill's son had their first baby....he is very cute. They are having a tough time adjusting......he is not sleeping much at all. I don't think they anticipated how hard the first few weeks can be.

He is adorable. What a beautiful head of hair.

MASSIVE TORNADOES about 2 miles North of us with major winds, damage, and fatalities. Our County isn't big and a small population. This is going to greatly impact our lives. I am praying so hard for our friends who live that direction. This is scary. It's been on the ground for almost an hour and still going strong. OMG, this is just horrible. More are developing, they are reporting tornadoes all over our area, and now some are headed our way. Please pray for Forsyth County, GA.

 I was hoping to hear an update by now. I hope that you are all safe.

This device has two settings, ultrasonic and audible. When set to ultrasonic it will NOT be heard by humans. Humans can hear the audible setting loud and clear. Both settings are effective at deterring dogs from barking. When a dog barks within 50 to 60 feet of this device it will respond by blasting the offending dog with a strong ultrasonic blast of 130 dB. This blast can be effective for over 100 ft if placed in a line of sight to the dog and there is little or no foliage to buffer the sound waves. This level of sound is about the noise level as if a fire truck were to pass by you as you stood preparing to cross a street. This device can be set so humans cannot hear it. The sound is emitted for few seconds past the time the barking stops, and then resets itself waiting for the next bark. It can be set to allow 1,2,3 or 4 barks before it is set off. This allow a dog to bark a time or two before it is blasted.

Keep safe Denise....been thinking of you all day:hug:

The 4 of us would like to parasail...but no go for Bill

Thanks

I say do the parasailing and make Bill the official photographer :thumbsup2

So, it dawned on me that with the whole family going on the Grad cruise we will have to have T shirts, so her's what I came up with.

This will be on the back, with the names on the pocket.

Very nice. I like the ship outline. Very unique

:lmao:too funny.....trust me, it has been exhausting

:lmao: :lmao: I wondered if you had signed up for the challenge :lmao:

The kids had been feeling much better, but Nick just started complaining of a bad tummy ache and nasal congestion. I'm hoping that it is very short lived since we were planning on skiing tomorrow.

The kids are planning a campout in the living room so I'm being kicked out now and need to head to bed.

Sweet Disney Dreams DDA

Bethany. Close, they both start with B. ;) She picked out a puppy dog. I tried to steer her to a plate, where she could put her handprint in the middle then around the edges she could have painted Happy Birthday and I Love You Daddy, but she was more into picking out what she thought was cute.

I agree. Bring on the belly shots, Jennifer!

as Cassidy would say "Oops, my bad!!":rolleyes1

Bethany....got it!!

Whoa, congratulations! That's exciting! :cool1: Too bad I never wore gold! :rotfl:

Me too!

I have been searching through my stuff to see if anything is gold. I have found very little if any. I do have some stuff that was my Nana's like her class ring that I think is gold. I doubt it would be much of anything else considering she graduated in 1938. I also think I have her wedding set, but my Mom might. I have my first pair of earrings I ever had, that the balls are dented, I know they are at least 10 K. I have ordered a mailer from USA Gold Buyers and plan to mail it away. It isn't doing me any good so I figure even if I make $50 it is better then nothing. Although I am trying to decide if I think the price will continue to rise or if it will drop.:confused3 If we are in for a recession I think it will continue to rise, but if everyone is dumping their stuff the value might go down.

That's a good idea. I might drive you crazy though, the way I shop. I tend to browse, which means I quickly walk around and if something hasn't jumped off the rack and caught my eye, they don't have anything that I like. Have I mentioned that I hate shopping.

You and I would do well shopping together then.:thumbsup2 I am so bad if something jumps out at me that I like I hold it up to see if the legs or sleeves or shirt length is long enough and then, maybe I might venture into a dressing room but maybe not. As you know the chemicals on the fabric cause me to sometimes break out. I guess not only do I dislike shopping, it doesn't like me either.

Arrrgh! I'm at that lovely "if I have to get up and go to the bathroom, I can't fall back to sleep for hours" stage of my pregnancy.

So, good morning DDA! :)

It's been nice to see so many pictures this weekend!

Robyn, Lucy is the happiest baby EVER!

Jennifer, thanks for finally posting some new ones of your beautiful redheads.
