So those Budget Board girls just pushed me to the point I couldn't stand it anymore. DH and I went back through the jewelry box and went to sell our "old gold". There was a place on the news last night, and the guy was really nice when I called so we went there. He gave us $600!! That helps out with the Disney fund!

Whoa, congratulations! That's exciting! Too bad I never wore gold!

A quick update on Emma's drama last night. Apparently her friend went in, Emma stayed outside, and "asked" if it was ok if they went to the park with Eric's dad. Her parents said fine- they thought they were going to the park at the top of their street, not all around town getting ice cream and pizza!!

That's all I have time for. My ride will be here in a few minutes and I haven't gotten myself ready. Have a great night.

A touch of Spring from today

I sold most of my gold last summer. I had 2 charms, 2 rings that the stones fell out of, 2 herringbone bracelets, some hollow gold beads that were dented, and at least 3 herringbone necklaces. The guy gave me $55. That's why I was hesitant to go sell more stuff.
I figured this guy must be pretty good or there wouldn't have been a news crew at his shop.
Today we took a "nugget" ring that was too small for DH, DH's class ring (the stone was broken, and it wasn't like he was ever going to wear it), DH's old wedding ring that was engraved from his Ex, a ring that we think belonged to his grandmother that I wouldn't wear, 2 "rope" bracelets, a charm, 2 pins, a herringbone chain, and a tiny pair of gold earrings. We also have a ring guard that turned out to just be electroplated. I actually like the ring guard, so maybe I will wear it at some point.
I still have a fair amount of gold left, but it is all stuff I wear.

So last weekend in between two of the events on Sunday I stopped at a state park and killed some time. Considering there really is not much in the area to do it was a good place to kill time. I wish I would have worn better shoes for walking as I had a dressy pair of shoes on and there were things I would have like to have done that were not happening in the shoes on my feet.

Thank you, we like it too. I remember when Guenna was going to take German in high school, her German teacher just loved her name. She was able to use her name and it was pronounced like Gunna.

Since Kristin heads back to school tomorrow we have grocery shopping to do today. She also needs a few more basic wardrobe additions for the "real world" of interviews and auditions. So, I suppose we will be forced to shop yet again...

Then, a group of friends (including our college kids home on spring break) are headed to a decent German restaurant for dinner tonight.

Hello, DDA!

It's been a very strange week. I have started to post several times, but I keep erasing it. The short story is that my co-teacher's father died as the result of a work accident. I am taking it much harder than I think I should be. He was only 58 years old.

I am getting ready to head out to Albany with dd for the weekend for a synchronized swim meet. The "boys" will be on their own.

I have been reading along and thinking of the and and along the way.

I made a couple of designs yesterday which helped keep me distracted.

it seems like once we changed the October cruise (for timing reasons) to June...that it just keeps getting longer & longer. With the crazy airfare, we have now extended it 5 days...so we are gone 21 days 10 in in AKV concierge, 1 in Port Canavrel, 3 on the cruise and now 7 at BWV. I have never gone on such a long trip before

Holy cow! That sounds fabulous! Can I come along???

Hi Elin ...I am still planning on buying that wine gadget...but now I have found 3 more models to chose from...I am not good with all these choices...Bill on the other hand wants to know "why can't we just use the damn refrigerator"?

While we were at the gold shop today I realized my driver's license expires this year. Which is a problem because we'll be at WDW on my birthday. I just looked and I think I can do it online, and it says I can do it up to a year in advance. I will probably submit the renewal in June so if there is a problem I will still have time to fix it before the trip. Since none of us have passports my DL is the only ID I have.
