Anne Marie are you packing yet? You are almost to your 30 day mark :cool1:
Nope!!! Nothing!!! The new suitcases we bought are right where I put them down when we got home with them! I am hoping to get some packing done this weekend as the kids are obviously not wearing shorts, tees, & bathing suits right now. I need to get a new bathing suit for me but I always think its a waste. I always have a tee shirt on the beach so I do not burn my back. I have too many beauty marks on my back & my Dr warned me about getting tan all the time...I still tan my face, arms & legs though.:rolleyes1

Do they know it is a Disney cruise?

Did you buy one of the stinky bags?
Yes, all they know is that we are taking the cruise & hanging at Cape Canaveral to see the KSS. They do not know we are actually going to Disneyworld after. They are also going to be excited about staying at the Boardwalk as we have been in there a few times & my kids think it is "pretty".

The first place winner in Nicholas' classroom for Science Fair did an experiment on static electricity. She mixed salt and pepper together, took a blown up balloon and rubbed it on her shirt, then held the balloon over the S/P mixture to see which the static would attract.

He couldn't remember what the 2nd and 3rd place winners were.
Ummmm o.k. One question, who is the child related too in the school? :rolleyes1

DH and I have just had a huge epiphany moment. It is completely conterproductive for us NOT to have DS on his ADD meds over school breaks. DS just doesn't have the impulse control to think about his actions before he does things, then we get mad at him. The he feels bad and gets upset and we all go round and round. I think that from now on we won't be taking breaks from meds. I want to see if I can tell a difference in DS's mood and attitude. I tend to think I will. If not then we can think about not having him take meds over the summer.
Good luck with that!

Bernadette,
Yes, I bought one bag like a month ago & its still stinky.

I can't wait to hear what you thought of the cruise! It is on my list to try sometime. I do hope when the time comes I can talk Gary into going with us.

I have been wearing the same bathing suit for a couple of years now. I do need a new one, but that is something I do not care to do. So for now I will keep wearing the same one :rotfl:

I keep thinking I need to start tanning a little for the May trip. The last couple of years though I have a hard time staying in the tanning bed any longer than 10 minutes. Don't laugh but I start having panic attacks. Once my heart was racing so fast, I had to get out of the bed & I just sat on a chair till the timer went off :rolleyes1 Hopefully it will warm up a little & I can just go out into my own back yard.

I actually know at least one of the judges from Nicholas' elementary school.... she is as fair as they come. So that is not the reason his terrific project was not a winner. :confused3

What bags are you all talking about?

They are red, white & black shopping bags sold at the disneystore right now. They can be used as a "green" shopping bag for the grocery store. They have a funny smell (i liken it to formaldehyde).

Of course we will have the pool and the Ariel Sprinkler to play in.

Here are some game ideas I found:

Water Sponge Relay: Need two buckets per team and one large sponge. One bucket will have water placed near the team the other empty off a distance. Players must soak the sponge and carry it to the empty bucket and wring it out then take it back to the next in line. Continue.

Water Balloon Relay: Need a pile of water balloons per team (more than one per person). First in line takes balloon runs to designated area, sits on balloon, pops it and runs back to line. Next in line goes. If they drop their balloon or it pops before sitting on it, they must run back for a new one.

Old fashion water fight: balloons, squirt guns, bottles etc

HOT POTATO- (OR BEACH BALL)
Use the Under the Sea CD for this game, and also for background music.

Okay I want to do this but do not want to mess with sand. What else would you do?
Bury seashells, gold covered chocolate coins, gems (aquarium decorations from the pet store), costume jewelry and other trinkets in a sandbox or a plastic pool filled with sand. Give the children plastic shovels and let them hunt for buried treasure under the sea

Ariel's Treasure
Ariel is completely enchanted by all objects related to humans.
Can the children help her find them?
Before the party, hide simple household items around the party are or yard; forks, combs, spoons, bowls, toothbrushes, stapler, hanger etc.
the children will work together to find all of the items and then give them names

Little Mermaid Freeze Dance: Play "Under the Sea" song from the Little Mermaid movie, and invite the kids to dance to the music. When the music stops, whoever is still moving - goes out of the game.

Here are the party food ideas I found

*"Seanut" Butter & Jelly Fish: Create a bunch of peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Next, cut them into fish shapes using cookie cutters or butter knife.

Dole® Pineapple Fish (available in a can)
Tuna Salad
Gold Fish Crackers assorted flavors
Gummy Sharks
Vanilla Ice Cream
Fish sticks

Bernadette - DH is having a big time with that 50 mm lens. I am sure he will let you have a turn with his cameras in August. He doesn't want a gorilla pod because the big lens is too heavy to go on it. He wants a tripod that is big enough to hold the camera but small enough to go in the lockers at all 4 parks. :)
Luckily there just aren't many things in my life that need to be graphed, so I think I can remain clueless in that aspect.:lmao:
Glad he's having fun with it. The SLR Zoom gorilla pod holds 6.6 pounds. I use mine not only as a tripod but as a hand hold too. It definately helps me get some of those night time shots without dragging a tripod everywhere. I always have the gorilla pod with me in the parks.

I bought this tripod but just couldn't it to do what I thought it should with a ball head. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...il&Q=&sku=287754&is=REG&si=feat#goto_itemInfo It wouldn't work for you DH's camera anyways. Tripods can be VERY pricey!!! Just the heads can be VERY, VERY pricey!:scared1:

I placed an order with Disney shopping today. I got Emma a swim shirt. I got her the Mickey boy's one. I like the tink one (for Lizzy) but why doesn't it have sleeves? I got her some Mickey (boy's) PJ's too and I bought Joe so PJ's because they were cheaper if you bought 2. AND....I bought each of them the 5 barbershop pin sets. So with the 30% off they were just about $3 each. I thought about 2 sets per child but wasn't up for $90 of pins. I was hoping I could add the 15% Disney Visa code but it wouldn't let me stack the coupons.

How cool!!!! So they will be all sad thinking they are going home and they are really going to BWI!!!:woohoo: Will any of them catch on that you've got lots of extra clothes?

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure I was not missing out lol

:scared1: Did you try febreeze? It is just so cute.

Hang out with me and you'll look very tanned.:rotfl:

Those sound great!

Yes the backyard & the beach..thats how I tan..I have never used a tanning bed & don't think I ever will...It would be to chlostrophobic in there for me too.

That was a joke. ;) I had mentioned to Tammi that the judges in my dd's school are less than fair to put it mildly & we always know who the winners will be..its usually this one moms kids (there are 7 of them) & she is the PTA pres. The only chance my kids have are in county or state-wide competitions that are not judged by the moms at their school. There are certain cliques here & if you are not in them you get left out.

The boys swim shirts are also cut more generous than the girls. I like the longer sleeves on the boys better too.
Yep, I made them shirts for our cruise departure day. They say "surprise we are going to Disney". Once I get them all up, I'll give them their clothes to wear for the day & then the surprise will be out!
I am going to pack the WDW clothes when they are in school. I am a huge overpacker so they know mommy packs too many cases anyway.

Jennifer the party games & food sound wonderful, Olivia will have so much fun!

So my lovely 8 year old DD was missing for a bit this evening.

Her best friend called and asked if Emma could spend the night. Yes. Eric dropped her off at friend's house, friend lives next door to Eric's parents around 4:30pm.

At about 7pm friend's sister called her wanting to know if I knew where Emma and friend are. :scared1: :scared1: No, I don't and Emma hadn't called. Did you check at my in-laws? Yes, no one there. What about the girl who lives next to them on the other side. Not there either.

OK, my heart is in my throat but I am also getting angry. Is that normal?!? I felt she was fine but of course was a tad worried. Eric and I try to get in touch with his dad. No answer at home or cell phone. Mom is at work. Eric heads over there to see if he can find them. About 5 minutes later, Eric's dad pulls into the driveway with the 2 girls.

Apparently Emma and her friend told the parents they were going to take in-laws dog for a walk. They did that then convinced FIL to take them to the park and for ice cream. He asked them to go make sure it was ok and they left, went next door and came back and said it was fine! Yeah, right:rolleyes: So he unknowingly took them to the park and to get ice cream then stopped for a pizza. They hadn't eaten dinner yet! Good golly!! She is only 8, I thought I'd a little more time before this all started. :faint: Eric let her stay over there, why I haven't figured that one out yet. But Emma is safe and sound.

I was going to stay and chat but the more I read the more confused I get. I just think my brain is on overload. So I am going to call it a night and go curl in bed with Mo. I promised her I would sleep with her tonight.

:wizard: and 's all around.

Robyn, I would have been scared too, and FUMING right about now. So did the girls lie and say that the parents said it was okay for them to go? I'm glad everyone is safe and sound.

Jennifer the party sounds great. Want to come plan Alyssa's bday party and Nicholas' 1st Communion celebration, both of which are next month?
