Night Jennifer!

Maybe you should wear some ear plugs :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear this Denise. I hope the damage is minimal & everyone is safe :wizard:

Tornado went through downtown Atlanta and did a bunch of damage. Watch CNN for pictures. It was right during the Bama vs MS State basketball game. John and I graduated from both schools, so it really hit home.

I think I'm off to bed too. I am reading Peter & the Secret of Rundoon. I had trouble getting in to the story when I first bought the book. I finally am in a mood to read it. I've read about the first 70 pages and am enjoying it.

How I miss Harry Potter!

So my lovely 8 year old DD was missing for a bit this evening.

Her best friend called and asked if Emma could spend the night. Yes. Eric dropped her off at friend's house, friend lives next door to Eric's parents around 4:30pm.

At about 7pm friend's sister called her wanting to know if I knew where Emma and friend are. :scared1: :scared1: No, I don't and Emma hadn't called. Did you check at my in-laws? Yes, no one there. What about the girl who lives next to them on the other side. Not there either.

OK, my heart is in my throat but I am also getting angry. Is that normal?!? I felt she was fine but of course was a tad worried. Eric and I try to get in touch with his dad. No answer at home or cell phone. Mom is at work. Eric heads over there to see if he can find them. About 5 minutes later, Eric's dad pulls into the driveway with the 2 girls.

Apparently Emma and her friend told the parents they were going to take in-laws dog for a walk. They did that then convinced FIL to take them to the park and for ice cream. He asked them to go make sure it was ok and they left, went next door and came back and said it was fine! Yeah, right:rolleyes: So he unknowingly took them to the park and to get ice cream then stopped for a pizza. They hadn't eaten dinner yet! Good golly!! She is only 8, I thought I'd a little more time before this all started. :faint: Eric let her stay over there, why I haven't figured that one out yet. But Emma is safe and sound.

Good Afternoon DDA,

I love all the Kiddo's pictures, there sure are a bunch of cute ones here!

Amy - my favorite is the one of Matty hugging the snowman, is that a snowman kit or something, since we get snow here maybe once every 10 years I'm not familiar with it.

Robyn - Lucy is so photogenic, just like her sisters. I love the one with the tongue. And I also love pictures of babies with bare feet,

Jennifer - It's about time we got to see your two princess, I can't believe how much they've grown. Olivia looks like she is great at being a big sister.

Robyn - loads of PD for your BIL :wizard:

Deb - I hope your household is feeling better today.

Tammi - I love the idea of make your own pottery for Bob's birthday, I think I would let Bethany pick out what she wanted to paint for him, it really doesn't matter what it is, it's all about her being able to give it to him. Have I told you that I think this one is a keeper? I think you should tell your X thank you, if he hadn't decided he wanted a divorce you wouldn't have met such a wonderful man.

Theresa - glad to see you posting again, hope your feeling better.

Elin - hope your headache has vanished.

Terry - Congrats on 42 years!

Well, as sloooooowwww as it's going, I have finally reached mini goal number 2. I have had to do a little shopping for work pants, I put on my old ones this afternoon just to see how they fit now, they a waaaay to big now. So now it's on to number 3 which is a big one, when I make this goal I will weigh what I did when I had surgery in 1992, but even that is a long way from where I need to be. I'm off next week so if you have a little extra PD dto send this way I could use it, the days that I don't work are the hardest to stay on track, I hope to get some serious cleaning done, among doctor's visits, going to Wrestling and of course dying Easter Eggs with Brandon.

I'm glad that you are reaching your goals. I think it is wise to set mini goals as you can more easily see your progress. Keep up the good work. I find I do much better if I have plenty of healthy snacks around. That way if I'm going to snack I will at least have some good options.

Sending prayers for him and his family!

Great update! I'll second this, and also tell you WTG! Congrats on your progress! PD for success for next week!

Thanks for all of the PD for the audit. IT'S OVER! :yay: Relieved would be an understatement of how I'm feeling. :goodvibes

We got through both soccer practices, Jake's baseball, then Andrew's tournament team scrimmaged his rec team.... until 9 p.m.! He played with the rec team, since they haven't been practicing together as long. He got to pitch two innings (struck out several, but could have done better if he'd stayed in form) and had a great hit, caught a pop-up at second etc. A good night, just late.

I'm getting ready to leave work soon. A bath, wine and music are in my very near future...

Tomorrow is Andrew's first soccer game of the season, then we are off to the Great Wolf Lodge (an hour away) for a few days. Not as good as skiing, but sometimes we have to make sacrifices for work. They certainly did for me when Mom was sick.

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Your life exhausts me. I have no idea how you can stay so busy all of the time. Kudos to you.

Next year I won't worry so much about his Science Fair project being so...............science-y. :rotfl:

Hunter had to submit 3 ideas to his teacher and then she chose the one that he is doing. I'm not entirely sure that he is doing an idea that he originally submitted. :confused3 He is going to test varying temperatures of water and how the effect skin wrinkling. I think I'll have him soak his feet in different temperature water for 10 minutes at a time and photograph the amount of wrinkling :confused3 Only the testing will be done here, the rest will be done at school.

Maybe Nicholas can test cheese next year. One year at the science fair a kid set out different kinds of cheese on the counter (I think it was on the counter as it would take forever in the fridge) and recorded how long it took for the cheese to develop mold. He could start testing now :rotfl: As I'm sure that some is pretty well preserved.

For any of you Weight Watcher's people...have you tried the All-Bran Crackers by Kellogg's? I bought a box of the garlic Herb and they are delicious. 18 crackers is only 2 points. I always love when we find something low point and yummy.

Of course we will have the pool and the Ariel Sprinkler to play in.

Here are some game ideas I found:

Water Sponge Relay: Need two buckets per team and one large sponge. One bucket will have water placed near the team the other empty off a distance. Players must soak the sponge and carry it to the empty bucket and wring it out then take it back to the next in line. Continue.

Water Balloon Relay: Need a pile of water balloons per team (more than one per person). First in line takes balloon runs to designated area, sits on balloon, pops it and runs back to line. Next in line goes. If they drop their balloon or it pops before sitting on it, they must run back for a new one.

Old fashion water fight: balloons, squirt guns, bottles etc

HOT POTATO- (OR BEACH BALL)
Use the Under the Sea CD for this game, and also for background music.

Okay I want to do this but do not want to mess with sand. What else would you do?
Bury seashells, gold covered chocolate coins, gems (aquarium decorations from the pet store), costume jewelry and other trinkets in a sandbox or a plastic pool filled with sand. Give the children plastic shovels and let them hunt for buried treasure under the sea

Ariel's Treasure
Ariel is completely enchanted by all objects related to humans.
Can the children help her find them?
Before the party, hide simple household items around the party are or yard; forks, combs, spoons, bowls, toothbrushes, stapler, hanger etc.
the children will work together to find all of the items and then give them names

Little Mermaid Freeze Dance: Play "Under the Sea" song from the Little Mermaid movie, and invite the kids to dance to the music. When the music stops, whoever is still moving - goes out of the game.

If you have a ball pit you could hide items in a ball pit. You could also put various items in a box or boxes with just a hole to put their little hands through. They would need to guess the item just by feel.

You could also do a Sebastian Race (crab race). Kids love crab races and suddenly it is themed.

You could bounce ping pong balls and try to get them into a bowl or fishbowl of water.

How long were they missing before the parents starting looking for them :confused3 Very very scary and angering.

Tornado went through downtown Atlanta and did a bunch of damage. Watch CNN for pictures. It was right during the Bama vs MS State basketball game. John and I graduated from both schools, so it really hit home. Dozens injured, did damage to the Georgia Dome, CNN Center, Omni hotel, Ritz, Centennial Olympic Park./p>

Praying for those effected.

I worked tonight and got home about 9:45 PM. I noticed that all the lights were on in the sugarhouse so I knew that they were still boiling. I ended up changing clothes and heading out there for an hour or so and packaged the hot syrup. We ended up having a filter press malfuntion before we got it all packaged so we'll finish tomorrow. We were making fancy tonight and it tasted wonderful though I only let myself have a taste off my finger when I spilt on it. I am so trying to be good.

We have a busy day tomorrow so I guess I'd better head to bed as I'll be getting up soon :lmao: Good Night er Good Morning all.

The first place winner in Nicholas' classroom for Science Fair did an experiment on static electricity. She mixed salt and pepper together, took a blown up balloon and rubbed it on her shirt, then held the balloon over the S/P mixture to see which the static would attract.

He couldn't remember what the 2nd and 3rd place winners were.

That was the "try this trick" thing in the back of Family Fun magazine a few months ago if I remember right. Kind of cool, but soo easy I'm surprised it won 1st. Especially if she only did S/P. Better if she wouldn't have tried several different combos.

All I did was google Little mermaid party. If your serious I will help you with ideas if possible but so would every one else here.:)

What is Alyssa's theme? How old will she be?

Communion is easy. What time do you get out of church?
I'm just kidding. She will be 6. I learned a long time ago not to try to do a party at my house. I ended up spending just as much money plus I had to do all the work. So I think she wants to have it at the pottery place where I'm taking Bethany today, so I'll inquire into th prices. Each child gets to paint a piece of pottery and I can bring in food and cake. Sounds simple enough!

For Nicholas' communion I think we are just going to have a cookout. Mass is at 10:30, plus group pictures afterward so I'm figuring being home around 12:30. I'll do burgers, dogs and chicken on the grill, a few side dishes, and dessert.

The problem is that his communion is on the 26th of April and her bday is the 30th, which means I'm going to have his party on Sat and hers on Sun, since my family will be in town. That way they can attend both.

I'm glad that you are reaching your goals. I think it is wise to set mini goals as you can more easily see your progress. Keep up the good work. I find I do much better if I have plenty of healthy snacks around. That way if I'm going to snack I will at least have some good options.

How are you going to keep the temp of the water constant? Or am I getting to science-y again? :rotfl2:

This year there was a bread experiment like that....how long it took different types of bread to get moldy.

Good morning. It is a glorious, beautiful day here. I think I'm coming down with something............spring fever! :rotfl:

Wow, sounds like a busy weekend!

I was seeing that on CNN this morning. Crazy!! I'm glad that you guys weren't too close. It almost seems even scarier to come through the city like that.

Its 42 here but gloomy. Showers all day off & on. Daniel has baseball so not sure it thats going to go on or not.
