DDA Chapter 5

Nick went to bed complaining of a sore throat. Hunter was in bed about an hour when he began complaining of a bad headache and a stomach ache. I really hope that they are not coming down with the flu. We don't need that.

Oh no! I hope that they are ok this morning!!! We did have the flu run through our house, but with the exception of Katie, everyone else had it pretty lightly. Sending good thoughts your way!

I wish, oh to read again like I used too. (sigh)

I think that's the reason I've been pretty cranky, lately! I used to get up at 5:00 in the morning, shower, get ready for the day, and have an hour to read before having to get the kids up and going. Since the time change, I haven't done that, and it's really throwing me off! I need to do that!!!!

Thanks Elizabeth!!!

Tammi,
I meant to post this before, sorry about Nicholas not placing. In our school the only kids who win school-wide contests are the kids of the parents on the PTA & school board. Needless to say we do not get dissapointed around here! Its funny one of the moms has 7 kids & 5 of them are in the school. They all win EVERY contest & fair. Funny eh???

Thats why we are so pleased Katie has won some awards for her art that were county wide or even state wide contests..then the PTA can't judge those! Yes we have a very clique-y school.:sad2:
Thank Anne Marie. I really thought he had a shot at winning because they are not judged school-wide, only against the other 18 kids in his classroom and because his project was different. Not the same "which cereal gets soggies in milk" or "which cleaner makes a penny the shiniest." No names are on the front of the projects, only on the back. Hopefully the judges wouldn't peak.

oh no poor boys, :wizard: that thy get well fast and it misses the rest of the family.

I googled swim suits last night after I read your idea. The problem is I wear a 34J cup bra. So its hard to figure out what size to even oder. I would need seperates as I am wearing a 10 to 12 in my pants/shorts now. The suits come in s, m, L etc. I searched for 3hrs last night and did not find any that were sold seperates

They are not nursing suits, but Lands End has separates, Jennifer.

Amy -- love the pictures! I don't think Matthew will have problems from wearing pink boots. Did I tell you that pink was Andrew's favorite color until around 5 or so? I think pizza for the party is great! I don't let myself eat it much, so it would be a real treat. And I don't think the Mom's would expect you to do something different for them. Have fun!

Karen -- love your pics of the rodeo. I hope your attendant showed up last night.

Deb -- I hope your kids are better this morning!

Denise -- I know you'd do a good job. PD and prayers said for the interview!

I haven't been sleeping well because of the darn audit, and so I was almost asleep last night (a little before 10) when Randy's nephew called asking where to register his truck. While I don't mind helping him, he could have gotten that info anywhere and much earlier in the evening. I guess it's good he did call, as one of Randy's brothers had left a message on his cell phone that the oldest brother is in a hospital in Houston because of heart valve problems. Needless to say, it took hours to get back to sleep, then I was tossing and turning.

I'm off to work on audit prep... I can't wait for tomorrow to be over. I may have a bottle of wine to myself tomorrow night!

Jake has soccer at 5:30 tonight and also baseball, so he'll go between both. Andrew has soccer at 6, and both baseball teams are practicing at 7, so he'll go between them. Since it rained earlier in the week, all teams are practicing tonight! :faint: And, we're supposed to get up to 80 degrees today, 90 tomorrow! :upsidedow

Marci - I'm so sorry that this audit has you tied up in knots! After tomorrow, you need to run yourself a bubble bath, light the scented candles, and indulge in chocolate and that wine while you soak in a tub!

Thanks for all the well wishes, but I think we must have the sticky sickies because they stuck around. Both boys are home today. Nick says that his sore throat is worse and Hunter now has the sore throat along with a headache and stomach ache. When I called the school this morning they said that it is going around and to expect it to last 3 days and expect for everyone in the family to get it  :headache: If we are all going to get it I certainly hope that we get it over the weekend when we aren't scheduled to work. Chris has arranged to get out at 4 today so my parents won't need to take care of the kids and be exposed to it. Dad will come and get my brother's kids off the bus at 3 in hopes of shielding them too. Will this winter ever end?

Jennifer here are some links to nursing swimwear

There are lots of other places too, just google nursing swimwear.

I'm so sorry! Do you have any Tang handy? One of the things my mom used to give us when we had sore throats was hot Tang. It was so soothing on an aching throat!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it passes quickly, and that you can all come through before the weekend is over.

Apparently I didn't get to have any that was left over. Bob took it to work. Even though MY name was on the lunch... :confused3

Get used to that! Alan eats anything in the refrigerator, labeled or not! I really have to hide anything that I particularly want to save. It drives me crazy, but since his good qualities outweigh the bad, I'll overlook it!

They are not nursing suits, but Lands End has separates, Jennifer.
And you can get the Lands Ends suits in Sears, which means they can be tried on prior to purchasing.

Since Amy mentioned the Fancy Nancy books it got me wondering what book series would be good for Alyssa. She keeps bringing home the Clifford early reading books, and is progressing in her reading. She not ready for Junie B. Jones or the Fancy Nancy books yet. Any suggestions on what might be good for her?

Oh, it's a gray, dismal day here! We are getting a rain storm here that's supposed to last until mid-afternoon. I hate these kinds of days, but I remind myself that it could be snow! Rain is better than snow. Anyway, I'm hunkered down in my house with some music and the DIS. Not too shabby, eh? I also watched Monster-in-Law early this morning. Cute movie!!!! I started watching Napolean Dynomite. Could someone explain to me why my husband thinks this movie is one of the greatest ever made???? I only watched about 45 minutes and couldn't take it any more.

Our library has a good selection of early reading books. They are all kinds (Disney princess, Frog and Toad, Berenstein Bears, etc.). If you have some time, you should call your library and ask the children's librarian for some suggestions. Make sure you ask for the children's librarian. They know all the latest titles, and can help you get age and reading level appropriate books.

Thanks Glynis. My mom was asking for suggestions as to what to get the kids for Easter and I thought some books would be a good idea. She seems to enjoy reading more than Nicholas.

Well Sophie loves the Captain Underpants series (Very silly but they love to read them). She also like the "Biscuit" series (little yellow dog), & Curious George.

I like Glynis's idea to call the library to see what new.

I love to put books in their baskets!!! You should get quite a good selection of titles from your librarian, then a trip to the book store is in order!

Nicholas sounds like Jacob. He's a good reader, but it's not something he'd do just for fun.

All 3 of my kids love to read..they do it when I am not even watching!:lmao:
I am so glad they find pleasure in reading. I am putting some books in their baskets as well. So far I only have one of the Clique books for Katie & Diary of a Wimpy Kid for Daniel. Sophie has a book fair today so I am waiting to see what she brings home.

Leighanna loves the Dr. Seuss books.

Also the Biscuit books.

I tried to interest her in the Fancy Nancy books at her last book fair, but she went for a book on kitties instead.:goodvibes

I think any early reader books are good beginners. Leighanna has shown quite an interest in reading, and reads every night before bedtime.

Well when the girls are old enough, I recommend Nancy Drew.

What are the ages of your kids again, Anne Marie?
