DDA Chapter 4

Hello everyone! Gary & I had a wonderful weekend :) Getting away alone together, does wonders for the soul sometimes :thumbsup2
I'm glad you had great weekend. Welcome back. Did the boys miss you?

Great recap, btw.

My sports break is over! Andrew had baseball Saturday, soccer today, soccer tomorrow, baseball on Tuesday, Kaleo on Wednesday, soccer on Thursday, baseball lessons on Friday and a baseball tournament on Saturday and Sunday, with at least four games over the weekend.

Well, it was good while it lasted! Jake and Andrew's rec baseball teams will probably start practicing in another couple of weeks, and Jake's soccer will probably start in a week or so. I hope we have good weather so I can walk around the park. My air card will definitely be used a lot this spring! :upsidedow
Holy toledo!!! That's quite a schedule you have there. My head is spinning just reading it.

We start soccer the 2nd or 3rd week in March, so I'm still free for a little longer! :cool1:

Well, I'm caught up again. Chuck & I just got back from shopping for some snacks and toiletries needed for our trip. I'm going to go work on packing as much as I can now. This is going to be a crazy, crazy week so I need as much done today as possible.
pixiedust: Good luck this week so you can have a relaxing vacation!

im a little better. i have been crying and tearing up no and then today. last night i was telling my parents i wanted her to make the decision for us or at least show us we needed to put her down and did it for us. at 4 today i heard the chimes on our clock go off and i was like dinner time and walk time for shocker. i just had to stop and think. i am trying to keep busy but also i am letting myself grieve too.
:grouphug:

What happened to the neighbor with the fire-starting DS?
He's on the other side.:scared: I think he might be a senior this year. I can't imagine he & his mom will stay there much longer but I also don't see them selling the house if the housing market doesn't pick up. She & her DH bought the house before they had the boy because her DH had 4 children from a previous marrage. They are divorced now so I just can't see her staying in that HUGE house much longer. It is a converted barn.

We had a lovely day at the mountain.
Glad you had a great day!

Deb - glad you all had a nice day on the mountain. At least someone from our group is enjoying the winter weather.

Elin - you are such a thoughtful mother. I'm sure Kathrin will enjoy the second pair of hands. But no crying on Sunday!

Karen- Sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

you know whats funny--ive lived this close to philly my entire life and never really been there to look around--just for concerts and stuff.

Is everyone doing sat-sun..or are people planning on friday too?

I hope to do Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I too have not done to much stuff in Philly. Well I guess that is a white lie, but I haven't done stuff in Philly in awhile. I have been to the Philly Zoo when my cousin Bobby was like 2 he is 13. I have been to the Franklin Institute and the Philadelphia Museum of art. I have done some of the historical sights. The only time I ever stayed overnight was on a youth group trip. We stayed in a church directly across from the Philadelphia Mint. We did some touristy things and prepared and served food in a homeless shelter.

Although I occasionally have worked in downtown Philly reccently I have not really done much tourist stuff in at least 7 years.

Things I would want to do... Duck tour or a Segway tour, maybe the Philly zoo but that is not really in Philly, The historical sights

Elizabeth-thanks for that video on lemons.:crazy2:

I am going to place an order from minimus.biz again for my May trip. I may have to order a few packets of lemon juice (10 cents each).

I always order water with no lemon, not for that reason though. Now I guess I will tell them to take it back if it has a lemon. Then again knowing me I will just take the risk and just remove the lemon off the glass, as long as it is not floating.

This reminds me of I think it was my second trip to WDW. My Aunt, brother and I grabbed a lot of the packets of lemon juice at the Crystal Palace and made lemonade with all the sugar and lemon packets. Apparently, we got bored or creative. This was before it was the Pooh character breakfast. My Aunt and I also had our picture taken in front of a mirror smelling the roses in a vase.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures. I took more today but have no idea how they turned out. The event went well. I got put to work but that is what I am there for. I hate standing on the sidelines, like I am there observing and critiquing because I am not. Two girls taught Irish step dance, there was a high school student who played the bag pipes, they did origami, learned songs and games and had ice cream sundaes.

Anyone familiar with the area that can tell me where the closest campground would be?
Not sure, I am assuming you are looking for someplace to park your RV?? Let me ask around. I am drawing blanks but I know lots of people who camp. I have just not really camped around the Philly area except at a Boy or Girl Scout camp and those are most likely in use for summer programs. I know their is a KOA campground in West Chester that is about 40 minutes away from downtown give or take. I will see if I can find something closer. This website has a list of campgrounds near Valley Forge, so depending where in the Philly area we do things will determine how long it takes to get there.

I need to do my performance review. It is due tomorrow. Do you think I've been avoiding it?

I really was going to do it at work Friday but then we were released early due to the snow.

I guess I better do it.:scared:
