DDA Chapter 4

I know I should stay in the safety of the DDA but every once in awhile I get pulled into a thread on the community board:rolleyes: :

I get called irresponsible.....I am sticking up for myself and putting it nicely as I don't want to get in trouble but I am about ready to slap some of the people on this thread:headache: :

I have learned my lesson posting on the CB.:sad2:

I have learned my lesson posting on the CB.:sad2:

I have actually found some great and fun threads on the CB....but I just couldn't not say anything when people were attacking us non licensed folks for our CHOICE. Last time I checked I wasn't breaking any law by not having a license...good grief!:upsidedow

I did think that at first. I had made an appt with this practice that had a woman in it. I thought I might be pregnant (with Katie 13 years ago) so I had to make an appt. Well only this guy was available for an appt that day so I booked with him. I was sitting in the waiting room & out comes this young handsome guy who looks like Robert Downey Jr. I was like OMG, this guy can't examine me! Anyway, he was so professional & so personable that I stayed with him throughout my pregnancy. He is the only one in the universe that is allowed to call me "Annie" his nickname for me. Even Dana can't call me that!:lmao: When I was in labor with Katie for 32 hours, he let me try to progress on my own & didn't insist on a c-sec right away since the baby was not in distress. There were bumps along the way & each time he handled them. I was very confident in him as a Dr. He was there for all my fertility problems & eventually the birth of Daniel & Sophie.
After Sophie was born he was no longer on my insurance. He said "no problem we can work something out" which he did. Now my insurance changed & thankfully his practice is on it. He can never retire or I won't go to a GYNO anymore!:rotfl:
He sounds wonderful. I loved the ob/gyno that delivered my kids, then he had health issues and closed his practice. I really liked the fact that it was just him, and not a group. I had a female gyno when I was younger and I actually now prefer having a male. She seemed rough!

Sounds like a great time, with bits of Disney Magic spread throughout. Enjoy dinner, and your last night as a thirtysomething!

:wizard: :wizard::grouphug: I hope everyone is staying safe in this wacky weather. I got to work around 10 am and it was already snowing because I had to drop things off with a co-worker in Berks county at 9am. I left at 1:30pm, the driving was not bad either way but I am glad I came home when I did because if I was coming home now it would take forever. People are not making it up hills and things. So not only was it snowing/icing in places there was a tornado near Port Canaveral, FL.

Keep your fingers crossed that the weather remains crappy enough so the office closes tomorrow, so I can stay home.:snooty: I do not want to go in again for something like 3 hours, plus I can use the break to catch up and get ahead on homework.

:wizard: :wizard: to all of those who are sick.

I love my child, I really do, but he is a dingbat. :sad2:

He called DH at 3:50 to see why nobody was at school to take him home. Because, son, you have band practice until 5 PM. Hopefully the band director wasn't angry at him when he finally showed up!

So. This little episode spurred DH and I into a conversation about a cell phone for DS. I am opposed to the idea SOMEWHAT because the phone will disappear or break within the first week. That's the kind of school he goes to - the kind where things disappear. But I called and ordered a phone for him and added it into our existing plan.

I told DH for DS's own protection I DO NOT think DS should know his own cell phone #. If somebody gets ahold of that number and starts sending text messages we will get charged for them. I despise text messages, and our phone plan doesn't have them included. If DS doesn't know the number then there will be no text messages. He doesn't need to call himself. What do you guys think? I am absolutely sure that DS won't be able to keep it to himself even though he will be given a stern lecture about proper use of the phone. He will give out the number, some bully will get it, and he will have 800 text messages that we'll have to pay for because some little middle school jerk will think that is funny. What do you guys think?

We already plan to tell him it has to stay INSIDE his backpack with the ringer OFF so it doesn't get taken away by a teacher.

Lucky her! is she going to use it???

So, I am sitting here at my sister's computer and right on her desk is----you got it-----

A big postcard with a CODE !!!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

She askes me, is this what you were talking about? :lmao: :lmao:

Well I think if the phone is only to call you or DH then no he doesn't need to know his own cell #. Just program yours & DH's in his phone so he can contact you both when he needs to.

I gave Daniel a cell phone when he started his new school last fall. He is an hour away & on the bus so I included a GPS on his phone so I can "see" where he is at any time.

Glad you're having a good time! Bill must have been great as "that guy".:lmao: Have a nice dinner.

I've noticed that in 2 different female drs. I've had.

You should be able to block text messaging from the line completely.

Elizabeth-I think it's great to have a cell phone just to call you all on. But....he may be able to figure out the number. If it's stolen it won't matter the #. I wouldn't worry about text messaging if you don't have that capability on your plan people won't be able to text message. We let Cassidy text message on hers but ours is exactly the same phone and we don't have that capability.

I am looking at getting us new phones as they are old and decrepit at 2 years old. :lmao:

Elizabeth - have you looked into those Firefly phones? I think the basic phone is around $20 and you don't have to have a plan. You pay as you go. The 'kid' phone can be set up so it only takes calls that are stored in the address book. No text capabilities, no camera, etc.

I had a female obgyn once, nope male for me please.
