DDA Chapter 4

Happy President's Day!

Got a question, the 800 number I have been using is no longer active, does anyone know of one?

Debbie - I have one at home. If you haven't gotten one by the time I get there I will post it for you! :)

Bernadette - Ah, so! It sounds to me like the next round of AP discounts are coming out on Thursday, which would be why the poster Lindsay mentioned was told they can't book it until Thursday! They told me I can book it on a rack rate room, but that defeats my purpose entirely.

Fingers crossed for AP rates on Thursday!!!! There is no way I want to spend $200 per night for Pop!

I am hoping that if a good rate is available to switch to Contemporary or another deluxe.

Denise - I just checked my paperwork, and we were in room #2573 at the BC. Based on that DisneyZone map, it looks like it's categorized as a water-view room (but one-door down would be standard), but I know that I asked several different people if we got upgraded, and they told me no! Could be that they reallocated some rooms. I know I would have likely been pretty ticked if I'd booked a water view, and that's what I got!

Here is a link to pics of our room, if you're interested:

Thanks Elizabeth, it's time for me to make some decisions and get our November trip booked. I would prefer to stay at POFQ but DH hated the bus sharing, so I think it will be CSR again, the buses were great there.

Jennifer - love the plans for the nursery, remember to save some things for others to buy.

Well, I'm going to head out again for a bit. I had the day off for the holiday, and went and had my first massage at my V-Day present spa. It was awesome!!! I am so glad I have a whole year to enjoy that place - I told Jonathan he can make that my V-Day gift for the rest of eternity if he'd like! Even better, they were telling me that they want to build a 2nd location closer to where I live, which would be great.

To continue with the pampering theme, I'm going to go try out a new nail salon - I need a manicure/pedicure, and figured why not just make it all about me today! ;)

Catch you guys later!

We are hoping to have a full size swing downstairs, and a travel swing for either up or downstairs. The thing we know we won't live without though, if every baby I know is any indication, is a bounce seat for each. I have done a ton of research (we're talking hours, weeks, months! :faint:) , so I'm sure they will do just the opposite of what I planned for! ;)

I will be exclusively pumping (not breastfeeding) to start, but I don't know a) how well that will work or b) for how long I will do it. I will have a MAJOR shock with formula I think, if our bad dreams come true.... For years, we have counted on not paying a dime for formula. There are reps that talk with doctors, nurses, etc in the Peds world that can generally give you more than you need if your baby can tolerate a few major brands. I'm hearing rumors that those offers may be going by the wayside though, which would really put a kink in things. I couldn't complain much since it would have been a major blessing anyway, but it's a HUGE "discount" we were counting on up until very recently! We'll see!

We had bouncy seats for the twins, and they were ok. Not fabulous! Leslie hated hers!!! Seriously, she would scream every time we put her in it. It's all trial and error, though. You never know what's going to work until you try it.

Good luck with the formula! I wanted to breastfeed, but never produced enough milk for twins. So, we supplemented from the first. It was nice, because it got Alan involved as well.

Have you seen the latest one? We have the three with the beach/pail theme (the two linked before, plus Mickey's Ice Cold Drinks, as well as one new(er) one, at least I think they're newer. We have the Mickey one of these:
I think I may have seen those at the flower fest? I like all the pail ones but this is for my 1/2 bath and I just don't have the room for them all. I have a Laura Ashley border on the lower part of the wall by the bottom molding. It is an old fashion beach scene and the floor tile is sand colored. I think the print will look cute in there when I get it framed.

Me too! I will stick to my AAA discount before I book DDP at rack rate.

:wizard: Good luck! Have the kids ever been to Pop? Joe really LOVED it! But he loves CR more.:rotfl: But he did put Pop ahead of Poly-he probably just doesn't really remember it.

No, my kids haven't been to Pop but they have been to AS Movies(Daniel & Katie), & AS Music(just Katie). Their favorite is the Beach Club...can't figure out why? I would love a tower room at CR but I would have to book a garden wing as the prices in the tower are way too much.

Oh, don't worry -- there is plenty! :rotfl:

That is one of my many reasons for not wanting to breastfeed. I acknowledge the benefit to breastmilk so will try and pump for the babies' benefit. I am not interested, however, for personal reasons in actually breastfeeding (even with one). I do remember though, how important it was for my dad and I to feed my sister... so I am adamant about sharing that joy (seriously, joy! Ok, and night feeds are a bonus too, for whoever wants to help ;)) with Kyle and my family.

That does sound like it will be adorable!

And as for shopping, don't be too disappointed -- I got a contoured changing pad with my coupon. Exciting, huh?

That sounds like a wonderful day! I also think that might be the greatest gift possible... I wish our spas would have that sort of package!

Has anyone heard from Kristine lately? Just wondering how the rest of her trip was.

I'm in need of some advice. Long story short, I found out that Nicholas had taken a $50 bill out of Alyssa's money and put it into his. I confronted him, he readily admitted to it, and when I asked why he said he wanted to get enough money to get a Wii. I had the whole stealing talk with him, how I'm not proud of him for this, if he were older he would go to jail for it, and that I've lost trust in him. I have no clue how to punish for this. Taking away video games for a week or two just doesn't seem to do it justice. I considered having him pay a "fine" to Alyssa, since she is the one he stole from, but I'm not sure about that either. Anyone have any suggestions or have had this problem with your kids?

Lindsay, I'm so glad you enjoyed your VD gift. I could use a massage right now. I have this one spot on my right shoulder blade that is in a complete knot.

I am sorry I haven't had to deal with that as the parent but I did deal with it as the stolen from. I don't think my mom did anything (at least not that I could see...so obviously my sister didn't have to pay me back:headache: ).

My only suggestion is to make the punishment both monetary (which isn't always tangible) with the more tangible. Sorry I can't help much

What about having him take some of his money and donate it..then Alyssa isnt benefitting from it (as long as she gets her 50 dollars back) , but he is doing something with his money....not sure if this is a good idea or not, but its what popped into my head haha
