DDA Chapter 4

Well, there was no surgery today, but they have found an agency that is helping with the financing, but they are waiting on the hospital to approve the offer that they made them.

I am so glad that they've got somebody helping them with the bill!!! I'll keep them in my prayers.

Good Morning DDA!

School is on a two hour delay today, so I thought I would take a few pictures of the Tink outfit I made.
Front:
I shared this on the Disboutique thread, but I thought I would hear what my "family" thought of this one.:goodvibes

Adorable, Tom!

I guess it's a good thing that you'll have Katie to chaperone your trip! :rotfl:

:rotfl:

I guess we can wait until your parents know. We are just all so thrilled for you! Alan and I keep talking about all the stuff that you and Kyle are going to experience, and it just is so much fun! I know that people tell you that the first year will be a blur, but really, you are going to cherish every moment!!! I promise! Even the bad times!

Katie is feeling so much better! All the pox except 2 have scabbed over. I'm keeping her home one more day, but will let her go to school for the Valentine's day party tomorrow, barring any new pox!

I can't even imagine. :cloud9: I know how enamored I was (am) with the twins I "raised" at the center for just over a year.... every little thing. I just can't fathom how I will be more in love with these two, but I'm sure I will manage! ;)

I have coke-marininated steak kabobs marinating (how redundant!) for our Valentine's dinner tomorrow. The steak is so good when it marinates for 36-48 hours!

This morning, I placed a small Gymboree order. It's usually out of my price range, but I got an email that they were having a sale and I had an extra 20% off coupon, so I think I got a pretty good deal on Easter outfits and a new dress for Alyssa's birthday party.

My ultrasound is scheduled for 2/22. Jen is going to watch the kids for me, but I'm not going to tell her the gender results until I call my mom. ;) :teeth:

I've found that none of my pregnancies have been the same. I'm 19 weeks in and I'm still nauseous (and occasionally throwing up), I have terrible headaches this time around, and I'm already having sciatic nerve issues. Of course, I'm exhausted too, but that might have something to do with chasing after a couple of other cuties non-stop. :goodvibes

Jen might, however, eavesdrop on said conversation with your mom if it happens any time that evening! :rolleyes1 :teeth:

My OB appointment went well. I saw a different OB, who I don't click with in the slightest -- our conversations were awkward, we had nothing in common... but she is approaching my pregnancy as if I were having twins (go figure!) so I'll take it. It was by far the best appointment I've had yet, even if we didn't talk about Disney, etc like old friends! We of course have our Level II on Tuesday, and are on every 4 week visits this one more time. After that (starting around 24 weeks) I will be seen every 2 weeks, and will have an ultrasound every 4 to start. What a novel idea, to follow the standards of care for a particular field.....

The other news that I always look forward to hearing (just so you know, about 50% of the time that would be sarcasm, the other 50% I'm totally serious! :rotfl: ) ..... at 18.5 weeks, I'm measuring just OVER 28 weeks! :faint: I was 3 weeks ahead, then 5.... now about 10! Eek! Still, it makes me feel so much better about how many secondary issues I'm having this "early" (anemia, {ironically} low blood sugar and blood pressure, to name a few). I would be 3/4 finished with a singleton pregnancy! As it stands, they are still looking at 37 weeks as a goal, but this OB was much more realistic about my body frame and the ability to get there -- what it might take, the fact that it really might not happen, etc. Maybe my previous OB didn't want to "scare me", but I'm a healthcare professional for crying out loud. I already know these things, I'd love it if my doctor would pretend he/she does, too! :rotfl:

So all in all a good visit. I have finally gained just about 5 pounds which was her "requirement", so no Boost/Ensure just yet! ( ) I'm still to drink this nasty electrolyte drink stuff for calories, hydration, iron, etc and will likely start an additional iron supplement soon, but otherwise things are stabilizing some. An apparent kidney stone is not that, but a kidney infection -- somewhat more concerning on the surface, but MUCH easier to treat, thank goodness! Now if the nausea and vomiting would go away for good, and if i could sleep an hour or two here or there! ;)

So there you have it. The entire recap of my appointment, whether you wanted it or not! :rotfl:

Debbie, I hope everything is straightened out and moving forward soon! :wizard:

I'm glad that they have found some help. I hope that an agreement can be reached ASAP and things can get under way to help DSIL. :wizard:

Sounds like a good appointment! I really ought to scan my pregnancy pics. I couldn't believe how HUGE I got!

I was on an iron supplement, as well. It really made a difference with my energy levels. I was amazed!

I'm glad that the appt went well on a professional level at least. I hope that you will now get the care that you deserve. Sounds like some plans to keep you moving along in the best of health, and that's always good. Can't wait for next week!

Ditto! :)

I got home tonight at 12:12pm and just now have calmed down to be able to sleep.

My flight was to leave Atlanta tonight at 6:25pm but was delayed till 6:41pm coming into Baltimore. We landed early and I started asking how the roads were. Hal and even Stephanie were checking for me on the computer and with relatives to see if there was any indication on the driving situation. I got to my car and spent over 20 minutes trying to clean about a 1/4 inch of ice off the windows. This was with the van driver helping me. I am so thankful he came back to help me. He did leave before I could give him a bigger tip so an email will go out to the company making sure he gets recognized. :goodvibes

Driving home was not bad at first, but after I stopped to get ribs from our favorite rib place, the weather went downhill after that. As soon as I crossed the Pa border, it started sleeting and the road was awful. It was terribly slushy and if a vehicle passed me, the wave of water and ice was immense and I almost had to come to a stop to be able to see. I kept thinking I should just have stayed near the airport and driven home the next day.

I am also feeling real sick with a blocked ear that will not pop and a very stuffed nose.

But my sister was able to try on my crocs and loves them. We found a kids shoe store and she was able to get the mammoth ones for $19.90. She also got the bright blue ones and I found the green ones. Very electric looking. So I will go out this weekend to get the mammoth ones too. Very comfortable. That will make four pairs for me. I did get the Relief ones and really like them. Very comfortable. No pain in the heel at all.

Now to go to bed and hope I can get out in the am for work.

The ice did take down a birch tree in our front yard. Thankfully it was not really tall, but it was so pretty.

 I'm glad you're home safely:hug:

Very nice. I love it.

Oh yes I remember the days when I would mousse my whole head, turn my head upside down & blow dry for 30 minutes so it was "big" enough..ahhh the 80's!

I couldn't use any products as mousse, hairspray etc made my face break out. I had some major perms :thumbsup2

I need something to put all my recipes in. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a drawer :rotfl:

Elizabeth, I don't think it's common for IPO to make arrangements for guests beyond their departure dates, but who knows. I'm trying to remember if I asked GF IPO for any assistance with our Dec. trip once we moved to SSR, but I think I decided I may have been too much of a control freak to trust them with trying to get CRT, etc.

I didn't think you could make any payments to a room only reservation, beyond the first night's deposit.

:scared: :scared: Maybe its powdered milk?

ETA: Just Googled it. Interesting. http://www.diversifiedfoods.com/ShelfStableMilk.htm

Nesquik makes a shelf stable chocolate milk that the kids swear tastes like the refrigerated stuff. I will be stocking up before our 3 week camping vacation.

I was given the iron supplement too, but it made me even sicker so I couldn't take it.

I swear that I miss a ton of posts somehow. I keep seeing things in quotes that I never saw. I always scroll back after posting too, just to make sure I didn't miss anything :confused3

I miss posts all the time and can't figure out why. :confused3

There was no school here as predicted. We didn't get much accumulation, but it has been raining since the wee hours of the morning and everything is iced over. Chris worked worked for a while, but no one was bringing their cars in so he came home.

The kids and I made the sugar cookies and the fondant worked very well on them. Nick and Chris are not sugar cookie fans, but they both liked these :thumbsup2 I also made a batch of cupcakes since Nick prefers cupcakes. I still need to frost those, but at least the frosting is made.

Hi, all! I don't have too much time to catch up, but I'm stealing a little computer time.

It was a snow day again! I think that they probably could have been ok with a delay, though we've been getting a little snow all day. This was our last snow day. After this, they will start taking away vacation days. :scared1:

Laura and I spent the morning playing with my new princess cartridge for my Cricut. Those are a little labor intensive, but very cute! My mother bought one of the new bigger Cricuts. Next time I go to her house, I'm bringing my Disney cartridges to play with.

I'm trying to read backwards.

Jennifer, I'm glad that your appointment went well. I sure hope that you can get some relief from the nausea soon. pixiedust: I'm sure all of this will be worth it when you finally hold those babies. :lovestruc I feel bad, though, that you are having such a hard time.

Tom, I love the Tink dress!

Glynis, here is some anti-itch pixiedust for Katie pixiedust: That poor girl!

Denise, I just wanted to let you know I didn't get any email. I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you or your friends! ;)
