DDA Chapter 4

Thank you for all your congratulations (and name validation) tonight. :goodvibes

Your comment about "No no Noah" had me giggling, Tammi. Matthew is immune to the word "no." We've replaced it with, "STOP!" I guess we'll have to use that from the beginning with Noah, so we don't sound redundant. :teeth:

I don't think Kevin had as relaxing of a dinner as Jen and I did. Matthew has decided he's anti-high chair at restaurants. Have I mentioned recently that he thinks he should be able to do EVERYTHING his big sister does?!!

I think I'll go to bed with a nice, even post count. Kevin and I finally watched the latest Harry Potter movie tonight. That Dolores Umbridge, UGH!

Good night DDA! Hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

It's always interesting to hear what others would have been named.

I am not sure what I would have been named if I had been a boy....but I do know that my mom was a little loopy and couldn't stand up to my grandma so I am Theresa

Cassidy would have been Aiden Floyd or Aiden Jeffrey. I loved hearing Happy Birthday Cassidy as she was entering the world:goodvibes .

As you all know Cassidy picked out Abi's name....we made her go through the boys names with us and we kept hearing "no" "no" "yucky" "nooooo!!":rotfl: Except for a half hearted sure for was Brett. Cassidy was so sure she was going to have a baby sister..."I can't wait to see Abi not Brett" :rotfl2:

Karen, I know it is hard for you. It makes it worse when they seem to be looking better but cannot tell you the problem. Here is hoping the medicine helps Shocker fast. :grouphug:

I am sorry Karen!!

Happy Birthday Leighanna

My mom did not have a boy name picked out for me, she knew I was a girl. (She didn't find out the sex before hand either.)

Karen - I am still hoping that Shocker will respond to the meds and be home with you very soon.

Vicki - thanks for the link about the counterfeit FPs.... who would have thought of doing that?!?!? How nasty!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY , LEIGHANNA

Amy and Jennifer - I am glad you two had a fun evening. Poor Kevin. ;)

I am off here to get dressed. I am leaving in 15 minutes for a full day of judging and accompanying. All the months of hard work finally pay off! Have a great day, friends. :goodvibes

Becky got a backpack made out of an old Cirque du Soleil tent. It smells awful. She was just telling me the other day she is hoping to find a way to get rid of the smell so that she can use it for our trip next week. I hope we can find something to get it smelling better. It cost a lot of money for her not to use it.

Yuck! I was thinking about asking you all if anyone had any thoughts, but since the tags are still on my bag and the lady said I can bring it back I am going to exchange it for another style. I am assuming Becky's bag will have the same problem mine did with repelling anything you spray on it. My only other thought was to go put it outside in the sun, but a circus tent has probably already been in the sun.:confused3 Maybe take it to the dry cleaners and ask them?

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: they did the test on shocker and it didnt work. the doctor said that 50% of dogs dont work out so not to be worried. so they are going to start her on the meds and hope she response. so here i am crying again. i want her back so bad but i know i am being selfish and need to think about her. if she doesnt respond i guess we have to put her down. i hate it because she is still her sweet self wagging tail, giving kisses and alert and wanting to walk.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :worried:

I am sorry, Karen! I hope Shocker gets better! :wizard:

Katie was always Katie (named after Dana's favorite actress Katharine Hepburn).

Daniel was named after Dana's father. He would have been Sophie if he was a girl.

Sophie would have been John Vincent (after my uncle) if she was a boy. No one, I mean no one liked the name Sophie when we told them. Tough cookies, we liked it..:lovestruc

My cousin's DD is named Sophie. There is also a Sophie in swimming class with Princess. That's another name that is popular, so I don't get why you had so many negative reactions.

I read that. If they really do crack down on it then I am thrilled! We'll see how it goes.

Happy Birthday Leighanna!

:dance3: :cheer2: :cake: party: :bday: :jumping1: :dogdance: :flower1:

Happy birthday, Leighanna!! :dance3:

Elin - Have a great day! :)

I HAVE TO get things cleaned up today. It looks more like a crime scene than usual in here. I need to make DS try on his new stuff, because whatever doesn't fit can go back when I go exchange my Croc bag. I am babysitting at 6 PM, then tomorrow I HAVE TO go to the grocery store.

We had the bad weather here today too. It was snowing by 9 AM, but not hard. The roads were horrible, but we braved them anyway as the kids had birthday parties or playdates. I even took the little guys shopping to kill time before picking up all the party animals. We saw many people off the road, but we took our time and had no problems.

Chris and I snuggled on the couch and watched Sleepless in Seattle which neither of us had seen. Chris said it was a chick flick (and it was), but he watched the whole movie. I fed him ice cream and Jack Daniels which took a bit of the sting out for him :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear that everyone is safe.
Sleepless in Seattle is one of my all-time favorite movies. I just love Meg Ryan in that movie.

Good morning. :)

Gotta go hop in the shower and get ready for my busy day.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Leighanna.

She really loves the Marie one! Thanks Heidi!

Off to try to get ready. We are having a bowling party, mostly because our house is too small to accomodate more than 4 people!

Still need to pick up the cake, and balloons, and other things on my LONG list!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning DDA,

Karen - :grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear about Shocker, :wizard: PD that the meds work and she is home with you soon.

Amy - Congratulations on your new little pirate:

Denise - :grouphug: I hope that the neuro has some answers for John

Sorry to be MIA so much lately, life is at a fast pace as usual. The long awaited surgery will finally be Monday, although it was a stressful ride, they will definitely be much better off going this route than they would have been trying to make payments.

I had my first "low blood glucose" experience Thursday, a little over an hour after I took my meds I got extremely lightheaded, so much so I thought I was going to pass out, I took a reading and my level was 44, :scared1: , so I had my first sugared soft drink in over a month and that brought it up to 58 after an hour, I napped, or passed out in between the readings, after the second reading I had some chocolate candy and got it up to 80. I will be taking the meds with dinner from now on, that isn't an experience I care to have again.

Has anyone heard from Jo lately?

I think I'll go by our storage unit and pull out the Easter table decor, and hopefully I'll be productive and get the laundry caught up.

Hope everyone has a great weekend

This is pretty cool. I just know myself and as soon as they got me in the air I would need to go potty and I don't see a crane with one of those :rotfl:

I didn't even think of that! There has to be SOME way established, right?!

Thank you for all your congratulations (and name validation) tonight. :goodvibes

You had a late night! I definitely crashed about 20 minutes after I got home! Thanks again for dining with me! :goodvibes

Me too! :lovestruc

Have a great time at your party!

Good Morning DDA,

I'm glad the surgery is finally coming! I'm sure someone told you this (I hope!) but please, when you're hypoglycemic, follow up your fast-acting carb/sugar with some protein and/or a long-acting carbohydrate. If you don't, you'll just end up crashing lower than your initial reading which could be dangerous! Have you purchased the glucose tablets that are available? Orange are my favorite, and they work REALLY well (it's essentially 15g of pure glucose). They'll be all you need to bring it back up quickly. Other really great options that work most efficiently are juice and/or hard candy... but then make sure to have cheese, or half a peanut butter sandwich (or PB crackers) or something once you get back in range!

It sounds like you are really making wonderful, healthy changes... I hope that things settle down and continue to get ironed out for you! :wizard:

I slept like a baby from 10pm to 5am last night   I swear, I think that is the first time I have not woke up at least 3-4 times (more often about 8 times) since probably last June. I stopped taking anything to help with sleep cycles when we were TTC, then had a bunch of drugs that gave me nasty side effects, now am just pregnant and can't sleep on my side. I have no idea what happened last night, but it was glorious! :rotfl:

I think this is a horrible idea. At least the wristbands are visible. A KTTW card in someone's pocket isn't.
o i dont like this idea either--my key is always in my bag..i would hate having to take it out all the time!

Sleepless in Seattle is one of my all-time favorite movies. I just love Meg Ryan in that movie.
LOVE that movie !!
