DDA Chapter 3

ME TOO!!!! I somehow found the motivation to loose about 65 pounds after I stopped nursing Emma when she turned 1. It really wasn't all that hard but then my Mom got sick and I slipped back into some old habbits. I know I've gained some back but I haven't gotten on the scale in a while. I have tried to make a few small changes lately-I'm tired of trying to find the right photopass border to hide my stomach.;) I can't make a good cup of coffee at home so I was going to Dunkin Donuts in the mornings. I've made the switch to tea-which I can make at home so no more Dunkin Donuts (at least not every day). I also brought my lunch to work all week this week which not only is better food choices but saves money (for more Disney or a nice stroller). I also brought in a 12 pack of Diet Dr Pepper instead of buying that at work-more Disney $. I do have to find my groove again though.
Well now they sell DD coffee grounds!!

Take care of yourself and feel better soon. :wizard:

Bernadette - Yay for staying home! Hopefully this will give you the boost you need to start feeling better!

I have several bad habits that I just can't seem to get away from. I never eat in the morning. I have 2-3 cups of coffee but I just can not make myself eat. I love junk - sweets, mostly - and I eat enormous portions when I eat them. I'm not that bad with soda, although I did order a regular Coke at the mall yesterday because I'm not in the habit of ordering diet. And I don't exercise. I am 30 pounds heavier than I was when I graduated from high school, which should be enough to shock me into being motivated!:scared1: But then I think, eh, what's 30 pounds over 20 years? :rolleyes1 I need to work on getting at least some of the weight off.
You sound a lot like me. I get up at 5:30 but my stomach isn't awake until around 9. Then I need a snack, preferably something sweet. I keep a stash of granola bars at work. Then I have lunch but by the time 2 or so rolls around I need another sugar fix. This time it's chocolate. And in the evening I NEED ice cream. Rarely do I drink soda though. That's about the only think I have going in my favor.

I need to get some lower calorie granola bars. I have them in the pantry at work but they are pretty high in fat. And today all we have to make sandwiches with is peanut butter and jelly. Which I love, but it can't be all that diet-friendly! I should have gone to the grocery but we needed to go to Sam's and I couldn't be bothered to go to the grocery, too!

Has anyone heard of Domino Magazine? I've got some Continental Miles to use up and this is one of the offerings...I can't find it at our grocery store, so it makes me wonder...

Nope. Did you Google it?

I just got off the phone with Southwest. I had all of my confirmation #s on the credits so I decided to see what would happen if I called and said I wanted my money back. She said the fares were nonrefundable, so I can't have my money back. I told her my friend said she got her money back when her fares dropped because of a DING. (That's what they are saying over on Transportation.) So she looked at all of our tickets and told me if the tickets are the same "class" I can have my money back. Well, we booked the leg there and the leg back as "web deal" or "Internet only" or whatever, but then we switched them to DING fares which means the class is not the same. BUT the tickets that were DINGed and then DINGed a second time ARE the same class so I got $57 back on my credit card. Not as good as ALL of my money back, but better than NONE! I just don't remember which card I used to buy the tickets so I will have to keep a lookout for the credit.:rotfl2:

I spoke with my parents tonight. My dad had a stress test yesterday and evidently their is a concern. He is going in Monday for a heart catheterization on Monday. This isn't the first one either. He had a mild heart attack about 18 years ago and has had further blockages on an off throughout the years. Luckily they have been able to remove them with stents and angioplasty. If you could send good thoughts/wishes his way I would appreciate it.

they are one of the sponsors of the HGTV Dream House giveaway....that's about all I know sorry.

Although the Hearts On Fire diamond company did not budge on the salary offering, they did promise Kathrin a salary review in June if she "knocks their socks off" at her new job. She called the other company and told them she had accepted another job. She is beyond tickled, to say the least. Oh, and she told me that when I meet her new co-workers they will all be sock-less. :rotfl:

The plan is to find an apartment and roommate already in an area she is interested in and be moved in no later than March 15!

Congrats to Kathrin! I'm sure with that attitude, her salary review will be a piece of cake!!! Good luck with the apartment and roommate!

Bernadette sounds like you did the right thing by staying home, hopefully tomorrow will find you feeling better!

Becky I hope you get your homework done & good luck with the new position. Sounds like something you would really like.

Tia I do hope there will be some changes to the DP, I doubt I will use it now unless it is free.

Elizabeth :cool1: for a refund, every little bit counts!

Tammi & Elizabeth I have a sweet tooth as well & sometimes it is very hard to resist. I was given a a dozen bakery donuts today from work to bring home. I will be letting the boys share these with their friends or they will be calling me(especially the one with the creme filling :rotfl: ).

I was able to get up in the driveway today :thumbsup2

I know I am missing a lot of you again, but I promise I did read everything!

Janet - I really wanted dessert last night, but I forced myself to stay on the couch. The cake is gone, and the only ice cream we have is vanilla (which I won't eat plain), but I can take out almost a whole row of Oreos in one sitting so going to the kitchen would have been bad! DH loves ice cream, too, so we usually have it on hand in flavors other than vanilla! He bought Nutter Butters at the store yesterday but I can't stand those so that won't be a problem.:rotfl:

Tia, thank you for that link! I will keep Michael and his family in my prayers.

Tammi - how fantastic that Bob is so pumped about these trips, and getting APs! I hope everything works out to where he and Bethany can come without too much difficulty!

Bernadette - I hope you feel better soon!

Elizabeth, congratulations on getting some of the money back!

Oh I love Oreo's & Nutter Butter's! I buy the 100 calorie packs & they hold me at bay pretty well. My downfall use to be Chip Ahoy chocolate chip cookies. Every night I would eat I don't know how many(to much I do know)with a glass of milk. Thankfully I broke that habit. We always have ice cream in the house too, Garrett could eat a 1/2 gallon at a time if we would let him :scared1: I buy myself chocolate brownie yogurt ice cream. It is fat free & only 110 calories per serving. It is very good & helps me not feel to deprived lol

Of course when I go to Disney I eat like I will never get another meal :rolleyes1

Afternoon all...

Marci- I hope the meds kick in and you have felt some relief today. :wizard:

Lindsay- Hope the knee isn't too sore. :wizard:

Bernadette- I'm glad you stayed home, hope you can kick the sickies. Btw, I am completely bald;)

Becky- :wizard: for the job. It sounds like you'd be perfect for the job!

Tammi- :yay: for Bob being led to the darkside. I hope the X doesn't cause too much trouble. :wizard:

Elizabeth- You and my sister sound like long lost twins- she can polish off a sleeve of Oreo's in a sitting. Although, lucky you got all the brains ;)

Tia- Thanks for linking that trip report again. :wizard: for Michael.

Deb- :woohoo: :woohoo: for actually getting to snowboard!! Good luck getting all your goals accomplished.

Vicki- Sorry work is stressful. You'll get through it. Enjoy using your office/craft room more.

's, :wizard: and :cheer2: for those I missed.

Robyn - Is that the same sister that won't let her foods touch on the plate? :rotfl2:

DS just got home. I asked him if he gave the check to the yearbook teacher. He said he went to find her during Computer (1st period) and she wasn't there. The Computer teacher offered to give the check to the yearbook teacher this afternoon because he was having a meeting with her. OK, now I am going to worry about whether or not the check ever REALLY got to her.:sad2: At least it wasn't cash...

Speaking of checks, the check I wrote to join the PTA at the end of AUGUST cleared my bank LAST NIGHT! It's about time they cashed it!

DS also said the band director told him today that they (percussion) are going to start staying after school on Tues & Thurs to practice. Practice for WHAT? This is the band director with the communication skills of a brick, so I don't know what it will take to figure out what the goal is here. I was just telling Susan today that I worry about DS's academics slipping when he gets to the point that band requires a bigger time commitment. But I didn't think that time would be NEXT WEEK! He has the "booster" pill he can take on nights that he has a heavy amount of homework, but if he doesn't get home until after 5 PM then that is pretty late to be taking a boost!:scared: Taking it that late means he will have trouble going to sleep. Definitely need to talk to the band director.

::yes::

Your MS drama just doesn't seem to have an end in sight does it?

I was trying to work on my pics but alas the photopass sight is not loading now. It is having technical issues! Imagine that.
