DDA Chapter 3

We got to go snowboarding tonight :rotfl:

The weather cleared up just in time and we had a wonderful night. The conditions were perfect as we had warmer temperatures and freshish snow. Colby is getting the hang of it and Nick and Hunter were able to use the lift again. I took one run on my new skis. They are a different and it took a while to get the hang of it, but I think they will be nice. Chris took a couple of runs and All in all we had a great time.
:woohoo:

Sorry. Couldn't find just a boarder. :confused3

I've been asked not to name names, but this is information about Disney and the T-shirt designs:

I did have a donation link on my webpage so I am not sure if that is what spurred it or not but the wording on the letter made me think that it was not just that but content as well. This is one of the lines in the letter. I assumed that "copy" is what they mean by our placing images on the designs.

Because of these rights, no one is authorized to manufacture, copy, advertise, offer for sale or sell any products utilizing the Disney Properties without Disney’s express written permission.

Then he said "the content offered on you website violates Disney rights... requests that you discontinue the infringements that appear..."

I made the decision to stop all designing even though he never mentioned the boards. It only takes one letter from a legal professional for me to stop, take notice and learn.

The designer is obviously a bit shaken up and doesn't want to draw anymore attention to herself. I thought this information helpful and she was willing to let me share without using names
It also might be the simple fact that she had a website specifically for this.

No, I think that was Pat. I think there must be something more to this than we know.

Hasn't Pat quit designing too? I am wondering if possibly there was more than one letter sent to DISigners... :sad2:

Marci, take care of yourself! I hope you can get to the Dr. and get some antibiotics! :wizard:

I hope Michael's surgery goes well and his recovery is speedy! :wizard:

Good luck getting your assignment finished! I would definitely apply for the position because they may not get any applicants who meet ALL of the specifications. :thumbsup2

I was going to suggest the one from Disney Store! The ones from Disney Shopping are flimsy fabric, which I didn't know when I bought ours. We all have one and we don't use them. You might be able to order one from Disney DelivEARS which is actual park merchandise. I have also gotten at least one lanyard from EvilBay for a decent price. Keep in mind they retail for $5, so you don't want to pay more than that. :)

Thanks Elizabeth for the great recap!!

Tia-we got ours at Family Dollar. They worked well as long as there were only 5 or so pins on them. We also have the Disney Outlet in town for a little bit and I be happy to go get a lanyard from there that looked a lot sturdier.

EMH's for August are up now. Only a few are different from July's, but we will get one night of the MK being open till 3am :cool1: I have a breakfast ADR's for the next morning, I might have to switch that one :rotfl:
I am staying away from EMHs in August.

I'm having a terrible time with a bladder/kidney infection. I thought I had one, but kept putting off going to the doctor, until I started running a fever and could barely walk. What was I thinking? Obviously I wasn't... time spent earlier would have made me feel better and much more productive then I was yesterday... I was watching the clock until the babysitter dropped the boys off at my office. Today is a little better -- no fever, but I do still feel lousy. And today is my late day -- 6:30 - 4:45 or so.... I guess I'd better get busy.

Have a good one, DDA! :)
I hope you are feeling better soon! :wizard:

I can't seem to find the place on allears where this is mentioned, but this is from an email on their email list. If it's true, maybe we'll see some changes. :confused3

This is something I just read on allears.net (in the DDP '08 review
section)...

-----One quick note: one of our servers at the California Grill said
that the new dining program was going to be reviewed after the first 3
months to see if it is being well received by the public. My advice is
call/email Disney and let them know it's not going over well at all-I
did. ------
Oh I hope they change it!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I finish my assignment due Saturday, by tonight so that I can spend a bunch of time at a SU retreat this weekend. Also I am thinking about applying for a camp director position within the Girl Scout council I am currently working in. Not sure if it would work because I am trying to plan a vacation for summer time. Plus I do not think I have some of the qualifications. But I may still give it a try. Who knows what I will do or what will happen.

I gotta get ready to head to work. I have a Service team event tonight and all the higher ups will be there, I have to helps set up tables and things for this and then help host it.

I don't know. This thread is really all that I can keep up with.

So I had a massive presentation for Bob last night. I gave him the Color-Coded Matrix of Fun, as well as the Color-Coded Cost Analysis. The latter was broken down into prices for August, prices for December and prices if he does both trips. The good news.....he is planning on buying APs for himself and Bethany, and doing both trips. The bad news.....none that I can come up with! The only hurdle we have to overcome is her mother letting her go. I'm concerned about the Dec. one since Bethany will be in kindergarten next year. I figure that is just something her mom will dig her heals in about. But that trip is the one Bob really wants her to be able to go on. He wants to bring his mom, DB, DS and DN. I'd like my parents to come as well.

Elizabeth, your problems' with DS's school seem never-ending. I say pack up and move to another school district. Like one in Virginia. ;)

Ironically this is one of the better schools in the district! :scared1: The logistics of moving (even locally) are complicated because it would make our commutes worse. And without making a BIG move he wouldn't be in a better school. He actually doesn't think it is bad. I seem to do a lot of piddly detail work, but I think that's par for the course. He has some really good teachers and he is doing well in his classes. I think the majority of parents with kids at that school wouldn't give a second thought to any of the things I get aggravated about.

I am staying away from EMHs in August.

We'll hit some AMs, but not PMs!:scared:

Oh I hope they change it!

If gratuity was included in the Deluxe plan we would absolutely do it for at least part of our trip. Like the part where we don't have any discount on the room! :rolleyes1

you and me both, really... but I did read a blurb somewhere that she had quit designing very quickly.

That is just SUPER, Tammi! I just don't understand the workings of some X's brains. How in the world can a parent even begin to consider making the life of their child more difficult and sad? :confused3

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I paid the deposit through Chanon on our package for September/October this morning. I wish the room was CL but, not without that discount. We did book the Deluxe Dining.

I figure if Disney does come out with a free dining promotion, we could upgrade our room to CL and upgrade our dining package to include the Deluxe Dining package and still be at about the same cost we are now, even without the room discount. We'll see how this all pans out...

:wizard: for free dining.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. I did stay home today. I sound like I am going to hack up a lung. I doubt anyone would want me in the office today.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the first week in August in WDW? We enjoyed our end of August trip, but I'm worried about the crowds earlier in the month. I'm still not sure what we are doing this summer, but we need to make a decision soon!
Beth-I think Anne Marie would agree with me that late Aug 07 was much busier than late Aug 06 and I was also there late Aug 05. BUT...I don't think there is too much of a slow time at WDW any more. With that said we still managed fine last year when we got to the parks early and by using fast passes. I would say if early Aug is a good time to go then go!

Only 2 more days of getting up at 6 AM for ADRs!! :cool1: The only one I needed this morning was Le Cellier, but woe to the person who fools around making that one!:scared:
I am not even going to try. It was great when we were on the meal plan but I don't think we'll do it this year.

Elizabeth - I am also short on willpower this winter for some reason. I have not gained any weight, but I can't seem to get motivated to lose any more either. I don't know what the difference is this time around, but I would really like to take off another 50 pounds. If you find that dose of willpower can you clone it and send some my way? ;)
ME TOO!!!! I somehow found the motivation to loose about 65 pounds after I stopped nursing Emma when she turned 1. It really wasn't all that hard but then my Mom got sick and I slipped back into some old habbits. I know I've gained some back but I haven't gotten on the scale in a while. I have tried to make a few small changes lately-I'm tired of trying to find the right photopass border to hide my stomach.;) I can't make a good cup of coffee at home so I was going to Dunkin Donuts in the mornings. I've made the switch to tea-which I can make at home so no more Dunkin Donuts (at least not every day). I also brought my lunch to work all week this week which not only is better food choices but saves money (for more Disney or a nice stroller). I also brought in a 12 pack of Diet Dr Pepper instead of buying that at work-more Disney $. I do have to find my groove again though.

I'm having a terrible time with a bladder/kidney infection. I thought I had one, but kept putting off going to the doctor, until I started running a fever and could barely walk. What was I thinking? You poor thing! I hope you can get over that fast!:wizard:

If you all could keep DISer wendygrace and her son Michael (from the Wish Trip Report) in your thoughts and prayers today, I am sure that they would appreciate it. Michael's body decided that it was ready for surgery a week ahead of the doctors' schedule. They have quickly prepared him over the last couple of days and he goes in for surgery this morning. Please pray that the doctor's are able to achieve their goals with little trouble. Also, the recover process could be long and subject to complications so pray that Michael's body will recover and heal quickly and with no problems. Thanks guys!
Will keep Michael and his family in my prayers.:wizard:

Here's the link to the trip report Wendy did on their Wish trip. If you read only a little of it, see if you can find the story about their very magical meeting with Peter Pan - Michael's absolute favorite! Keep the tissues handy.

I remember reading that a while back. What pure magic!

Good luck with homework and the Camp Director position.:wizard:

She stopped a while ago for "personal reasons". She had taken some time off at other times too. I can imagine it gets overwhelming for them.

So I had a massive presentation for Bob last night. I gave him the Color-Coded Matrix of Fun, as well as the Color-Coded Cost Analysis. Bernadette - Yay for staying home! Hopefully this will give you the boost you need to start feeling better!

I have several bad habits that I just can't seem to get away from. I never eat in the morning. I have 2-3 cups of coffee but I just can not make myself eat. I love junk - sweets, mostly - and I eat enormous portions when I eat them. I'm not that bad with soda, although I did order a regular Coke at the mall yesterday because I'm not in the habit of ordering diet. And I don't exercise. I am 30 pounds heavier than I was when I graduated from high school, which should be enough to shock me into being motivated!:scared1: But then I think, eh, what's 30 pounds over 20 years? :rolleyes1 I need to work on getting at least some of the weight off.

OK, I KNOW that one of you dedicated planners has the September/October hours from 2007 somewhere in your bag of tricks! I am specifically looking for the last weekend of September through the middle of the following week which encompasses October 1 or so. All my 2007 hours are for later in the month of October. Thanks in advance!

ETA: Leave it to the DIS to have last year's hours still available! Thanks anyway, friends!
