DDA Chapter 3

I'm a lurker too! Not brave enough to set foot in those waters.

I could never eat what the kids left on their plates. That just totally skeeves me out. I've seen where their hands have been. I can't even eat off of my own kids plates. Now my food can touch. My sister won't let her food touch and eats all of one thing and then moves onto the next.

That's how I do it, too! :rotfl2:
I was at a charity dinner one night and one of the psychologists from the agency was at our table. She kind of raised her eyebrows at me and said "I can help you with that if you want." :lmao: It doesn't negatively impact my life enough for me to consider treatment for it!:rotfl:

So I've been looking through restaurants to get an idea of where to eat. I'm wanting to try new things. Which do you think is better....Tony's or The Plaza? Rose and Crown or Biergarten? How is the dinner at 1900 Park Fare? We've only done bfast there.

We really enjoyed Tony's, contrary to negative reviews I have read. I've been there twice. Rose and Crown is one of our favorites, and I think we go every time now!

I was very unimpressed with the Plaza and Biergarten, but at least the Plaza is inexpensive. Biergarten had some cute activities for the kids, but i thought the food was very mediocre.

Here I am asking for prayers and pixie dust. My 17 year old niece found out several months ago that she is pregnant. She knows that she can't make a marriage work at this age, and she really doesn't want to try. She and Brandon made the decision to place the baby up for adoption, but his parents are trying to talk them out of it. They do not want to help raise the baby, they want the kids to get married, and raise the baby on their own. Could you please pray that they will stay out of this until the baby is placed? Thanks.

oh, I will definitely keep them in my prayers.... for peace, healing, and the family to let them work through this however it ends up!

New update on the golf ball! Much better, don't you think? :teeth:

They look great!

Jennifer- Glad you made it home safely. Sorry work was well, work.

Becky- Awesome pages!!

Denise- Got my vote. I am sorry you all had to cancel the trip.

I prefer my food not to touch but am getting better as the years go by. I have even been known to order the mashed potato bowl at KFC.

I don't eat off my kids plates either. Yuck! I will share with Chuck. I really didn't like sharing a glass with them though when they were little, I got used to that.

I did a consumer survey on the mashed potato bowl and I said I wouldn't consider trying it because I don't let my food touch!:lmao:

I usually eat all I can and pass my plate to DH. He can eat a lot more than I can. I don't mind sharing my food with DS if he wants to taste what I have, and I will break pieces off of my food to share with Princess. But I don't eat anything DS or Princess leave on the plate.

DH and I used to share drinks all the time, but we have gotten away from that. I really discourage drinking after each other, especially at WDW because it seems like at least one of us always gets sick there.

I do basically the same. I'm happy to share with the kids and Chuck but I won't eat off their plates when we leave the table. Though, I could see doing that before eating out of the garbage.

I've been trying to catch up, but it's hard to jump in mid stream.

Forgive me if I miss anything.

Congrats to Elin's DD on 2 jobs!
Jennifer, yea for Virginia rolling over!
Deb, hope you feel better, and I love the shirts.
Glynis- Wow, snow in the house? At least you'd be warm to make a snowman.
Elizabeth- Congrats on your ADRs and the cakes are too cute.
Vicki- you and Deb are making me feel bad in the Suzy homemaker dept. Your top is very cute.
Theresa- love the star necklace. Sweet 16 is such a big deal!
Marci- The parade sounded fun. We are supposed to hit 75 tomorrow and then the high will be in the 40's.
Janet- love the pics in your signature. And another trip for you!
Bernadette- I hope you got my thank you card. The kids love the coloring books you sent.
Jen and Amy, hope you both are feeling good!
Paula, you are a nut and it's good to see you.
Kristine, not too much longer until your trip! Can you see the top of the hill yet?
Lindsay, I sure hope we do get to meet up in May. How fun!
Becky, love the pages you've done.
Jen, how is teaching? I have kept you in my prayers since your grandfather's death. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Tia, I hope Terra feels better soon.

The kids have accepted we're not at Disney this week much better than I anticipated. Rees, BK, and I all 3 tested positive for flu (and we had the shots). It's really bad here now as the flu strain we had wasn't in the shot this year. We have rescheduled for April 26-May 3. Hopefully, the P&PP will still be going on then too.

I hate it when they want to drink out of my glass. I'll do it but I hate. Now a bottle of water/juice/soda forget it. That backwash swill :scared:

I was reading it to Eric and couldn't get through it, I was laughing so hard I was crying.

My name is Elizabeth and I cannot allow my food to touch. Who really needs treatment for that?!? :rotfl2:

I didn't want to get up this morning either. I couldn't fall asleep and Colby woke up at 2 AM with his feet and legs aching. It took me about an hour to get him comfortable and not crying. Thanks to Motrin, heating pad and leg and foot massages. Once he fell back asleep he was fine through the rest of the night. I find these nights of broken sleep just don't cut it. Since we have been getting him up for the potty during the night for the last 2 weeks sleep has been very broken. I'm not a happy Mommy. I just can't fathom how long this is going to take as he just does not wake up and he cannot hold it for longer than 4 or 5 hours. He is nearly 5 1/2 and I would think that he is capable, but I guess not. We don't even let him drink in the evening (which he is not happy about ) Did anyone else have Night time potty issues and when did they resolve?
Deb, BK and Rees both just did nighttime potty training this summer. I bought the Malem Ultimate potty alarm, and they were trained in less than 2 weeks with NO accidents since then. I sold them on ebay and made back all but $30! The work great. The problem with waking kids, is they still don't learn to wake on their own to a full bladde signal. This device wakes them immediately, and even Rees did great with it.

Denise, I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip again! :sad1: :grouphug: I hope you all are feeling better soon.
Thanks, Jen. Hopefully, soon I'll FINALLY get to show them our brick in front of the MK. It's been tough not to spill the beans.

Denise - Yikes! I am sorry you guys have had such a rough time! They were talking about influenza on the radio today and they said we are also seeing strains that weren't covered by the shot. DS had the mist this year, but DH and I didn't get shots or mist. :scared:
I hope you have the most magical trip ever in April!! :wizard:

since we are confessing...not only do I lurk I often post too!!:rolleyes1

I saw the thread when it was one page and was totally grossed out. I have food issues but garbage can eating is not one of them.

I do not have a problem with my food touching, but I would never take food out of the trash  :rotfl:

I do not eat off of the boys plate, but we will share a bite if there is something we want to try. Especially dessert!

Reading the DIS! :rotfl:

And thinking about dinner, and working on the plan for our September trip, and debating about opening a bottle of wine to celebrate...

Kathrin got BOTH jobs! :dance3:  :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay:  :cool1: :woohoo:

However (and it is a BIG however, to me!)... they are $10,000 apart in salary offers! Of course, the one she wants more is the one offering less money. She countered and they will get back to her on Monday. But, it is definite that she will be headed to Boston now. :yay: :sad1: :woohoo: :sad2:

HOORAY! I hope she finds her decision an easy one! :goodvibes

I am back... with pizza and wine. I think I told you all that I got this terrific gift from my brother and SIL for Christmas. It is a professional wine cooler. Well, I opened it on Christmas Day and it would not work. :confused3

Williams-Sonoma took it back, even had UPS come pick it up, and backordered one for me. It arrived today. It chilled my white zinfandel in about 20 minutes.
When it reaches the preset temperature the blue screen beeps and displays: CHEERS! :goodvibes

Cool!

Cassidy is signing up for next year's classes....she is in the top 40% of her class. She will be doing AP Chemistry AND honors IMP 4 (Integrated Math Principles) on the recommendation of the teachers. The kid didn't take Honors History this year because she didn't want to be doing homework all the time.....ummmmmm what does she think she is in for next year???:confused3 :rotfl:

She is also going to try and be section leader for marching band...I'm tired just thinking about it.

Thank you all :)
I really don't like the Giants now. They beat my two favorite teams in the playoffs.
Tampa in the wild-card game and the Pats in the super-bowl :headache:

and the cowboys--right ;)
Jen, how is teaching? I have kept you in my prayers since your grandfather's death. I hope you and your family are doing well..
