Good morning, DDA!

Elizabeth - Hooray for the ADR success and changes! Hope the rest come into place as easily. Hope DH isn't too cranky when he gets home. Who needs grocery shopping...don't you have cake! I had a dream about eating a really good cake last night. Somehow it just didn't satisfy the craving.

Robyn - I've always heard that salt does in the shaker with more holes.

Tammi - Hope yourBob comes around to the points. Your assimilation of him didn't take long at all.

Debbie - Good luck at the stores. Hope that it isn't too crazy!

After a long night of coughing in which I didn't get much sleep until after 2:30, I talked to the Children's Hospital nurse this morning (they handle the exchange for our ped). From everything I said and hearing Terra's cough in the background, she thinks that she has a viral upper respiratory infection.

Hopefully the cough should ease in the next day or so, but it will probably linger for a couple of weeks. Unless some new symptom appears, she starts wheezing or it just doesn't get any better we probably won't need to go to the doctor at all. She recommended warm apple juice as a soother as well as lemon and honey water. Otherwise, just take it easy, drink fluids to help break up the junk and call if we have any other questions.

Other than sleeping fitfully part of the night and the annoyance of the cough, she seems to feel fine. She had a low fever at one point overnight, but hasn't since either. You know, it's just that mommy guilt (usually unfounded) of having done something to make your baby sick.

So, we're hanging out, watching movies or whatever and planning a few days inside.

No big plans for us today. I think we're going to make wings later and may or may not watch the Superbowl. Or at least not all of it. I'm up for the beginning and the very end at least. The funny thing is that dad's been asking all week what we're doing for the Superbowl. When I finally mention a few ideas yesterday (and tell him that I'm making him wings), he says that he doesn't necessarily have an interest in the game itself other than it being football in general so he doesn't necessarily have to watch it or all of it. Umm, then why have you been so concerned about plans. It's not like the rest of us (save one BIL) care much about watching it.

Well, we talked about how if we continue to travel with 5 people my 200 DVC pts won't go very far, and that he should put his tax refund to good use buying more pts.

I suppose it depends on which one you like better! I am a salt girl, myself, so salt goes in the one with more holes. Also, pepper is a finer grind so it comes out faster. Our pepper shaker has disppeared. I noticed that the other day when I was refilling the salt shaker.

I put the salt in the top of my pepper mill and whichever shaker says S on it....I am a lot of help aren't I???

I say salt goes in the shaker with more holes. You usually put more salt on your food than pepper.

Chuck says the holes are usually different sizes. The pepper goes in the one with the larger holes.

Chuck also says that you aren't supposed to use a pepper shaker because you are supposed to use a grinder and grind it fresh every time.

So I have a question, that is un-Disney related.

Do any of you know of a way to find out if someone who is deceased was a US Citizen?

The reason I am asking is because my Mom's biological Dad was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His Mom was Canadian born, but his Dad was US born. The whole family moved to the U.S when he was a few years old.

My Mom's bio-Dad left when she was about 2 and her and my Grandma, had little if no contact with him and his side of the family. Her Dad died in 1984, and most of his direct relatives are deceased as well.

My Grandma does not recall if he was a U.S citizen or not. My Mom seems to think he was, but we have nothing to back this up or deny it. We know he was in the Army, but are not sure if it was U.S or Canadian.

My Mom needs to know for a form she is filling out, whether he was a US citizen or not. So I have been asked to help come up with some way to figure out, if he was a U.S. citizen or not.

Have I confused you yet????

I don't remember who was asking about a rain poncho for their stroller but I just found on one of the packing tip threads that someone uses a large lawn & leaf bag to cover their stroller. Just wanted to put it out there.

ETA: Also another person posted that they use a flannel backed plastic tablecloth instead. They can then use it for other things if it isn't raining.

So yesterday I took a nap for several hours. Then I went to a Cub Scout Spaghetti dinner. Did some homework and figuring out some crafty projects to do in the future.

Today I have been lazy thus far and have few plans for the day. I will probably watch the game tonight and then tomorrow it is back to work again. These weekends are far to short.

Chuck & I think that if the father was US born then he was an American citizen. However, Chuck says that Canada has dual-citizenship which may change things.

This is what wikipedia says. It isn't much help because it says the rules were different before 1952 and I'm sure your biological grandfather would have been born before then.

Through birth abroad to one United States citizen
In most cases, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true:

One of his or her parents was a U.S. citizen at the time of the person in question's birth;
The citizen parent lived at least 5 years in the United States before his or her child's birth; and
At least 2 of these 5 years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday (see note below).
A person's record of birth abroad, if registered with a U.S. consulate or embassy, is proof of his or her citizenship. Such a person may also apply for a passport or a Certificate of Citizenship to have his or her citizenship recognized.

We'll see, I am quite sure he has the personality to make it work though.

Robyn - One of my old bosses had the masseuse come to the house every week. It was $80 for one hour. This lady had a select group of clients and didn't advertise or anything. She did quite well.
The girl who watched Brother & Sister before I did got her massage license but she didn't seem to be able to make a living with it. I guess it just depends on how hard you are willing to work to establish your client base.

It is for a passport and it just asks if parents are US citizens. My Dad is afraid they will start questioning my Mom if she tells them she does not know. I told her to just check U.S. citizen and not mention that she is not sure. Not sure what they will do if it is incorrect. But it looks like her should be considered a U.S citizen, even if it would be dual citizenship.

I would say she should check U.S. Citizen as well. Based on the info you have, it sounds like he would have been considered a U.S. Citizen. I can't imagine that the info would be considered wrong for a passport.

I just got off the phone with my mother. I mentioned to her that I don't think I have my birth certificate. I think she has it. She said she will look for it and if she can't find it she'll go get a copy for me. No, she won't. She will INTEND to go get it, but she won't. She is also NEVER going to relinquish that life insurance policy. She is going to keep paying for it and never change the beneficiary. SO if I die NOBODY is going to get ANY money from that policy because she has my dead father listed as beneficiary. She has a policy on my sister, too. The sister who is 27! I asked her WHY WHY WHY she insists on carrying policies on us since we are GROWN UP? She said "Because." I swear, it is like arguing with a toddler. She needs every penny of her money herself, so WHY she is wasting money on life policies for us is beyond me. And if SHE dies then I bet there will be no way for me to take over my own policy, meaning AGAIN, all that money is trapped. I told her to cancel the policy and keep the money herself but she won't even consider it. She will be 60 next week, so I would think she would want her ducks in a row. Nope.
