DDA Chapter 3

Hey gals - with the new found love for scrapping that's going on round here I thought I'd offer up this link: http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18194 the first in a series of daily challenges for February. Just follow the instructions and post up a layout for the chance to win some great prizes.

Hope y'all are having a warm and dry weekend

We've been during Gay Days and the crowds were outrageous, that was a few years ago and they are worse now. :scared1: It took us an hour and forty five minutes for Splash.

Maybe it's good that we keep missing it, then! :rotfl:

Robyn - Massage therapists are quite plentiful around here. Interesting choice. I see Lindsay suggested a salon for Joe to look at. Does he want to be in a salon or work as an independent?

I see you had a stowaway, :rotfl: , great job!

Cute pic, Chanon!

Not in our house either! My dad was making some of the coffee his company sells to give away at our garage sale. He came out to me and said..."do you know that you're supposed to use 12 heaping tablespoons to make a pot of coffee? Your mom doesn't use anywhere near that." Um, yup. I know, Dad. That's the way we like it. We use about a regular tablespoon or so per 2 cups of coffe. :rolleyes1

I'm about to find out if it is drinkable! ;)

About not getting an AAA discount on concierge. :teeth:

WHY is that? I am hoping for some sort of break on our AKL room and it just isn't happening!

actually we are thinking of driving. but yes we are doing Aug.

ACK! More driving! :scared:

I have got to try Cheescake Factory sometime! Only thing we don't have one around here :sad2:

Poor Katie, :wizard: that her fever lifts soon!

Anne Marie, glad you had a nice dinner! I hope Katie feels better soon!

It was nice. I had the salmon with coconut rice and Bob had the ribeye. We enjoyed it, plus we each had a glass of wine. Had to pass on dessert though, we were stuffed. Good food and good service.

Yummy! Did you talk Disney?

Gotta call for ADRs!! :yay:

ACK!! Fatal planning error!:scared: My birthday is on a Tuesday and Citrico's isn't open on Mondays and Tuesdays.:headache: So I booked Narcoosee's. Now I am finished through 8/11. I can't decide what we want to do for dinner on 8/12 anyway. I'll have to call back to get the rest of the days later this week.

So far we have:
Breakfast - Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, and Boma.
Lunch - Sci Fi
Dinner - Cali Grill, Coral Reef, 50's PT, Narcoosee's, Kona, and Boma. Yak & Yeti and Wolfgang Puck are ones that don't do 180+10 so those will come later. AKL IPO is doing the Y&Y for me, so I need to book Puck's.

Tweaking, always tweaking...

I called back and switched my birthday dinner to Kona and booked Citrico's for 8/7. Funny, when we were at WDW for my birthday in 2006 we ate dinner at Kona, too! So I guess I will have my fabulous cake on 8/7 since the GF bakery will only deliver to GF restaurants.

I looked at the Narcoosee's menu and it just wasn't doing anything for me. I had my heart set on Citrico's, so I thought it was better to switch dates than to switch venues. :)

I'm still using scissors :goodvibes I finished my shirt today. Unfortunately I made a size 8 without checking the measurements. A simplicity size 8 is MUCH smaller than a size 8 that I can buy at the store so it does not fit. I will be mailing it to Vicki in hopes that it will fit one of her girls. I tried to get Nick to model it, but there was no way that he was putting a woman's shirt on :rotfl:

My girls will model it for a picture so we can post Deb's handiwork!

I would not have been able to get up :rotfl: Glad you are ok!

I had an interesting experience tonight though--i did a split in the ladies room haha
I went to get a paper towel and there was water on the floor and i basically did a split--grabbed onto the sink so i didnt fall---my brothers girlfriend was in the bathroom with me and was hysterical..thats my dumb move for the night!

:yay: Yay for reservations completed and sensible! I am glad you said something about Citricos being closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, Elizabeth. I don't think I keow that yet! And I am about to start a spread sheet with possibilities for dining, so that is a good thing to have handy as I plan. thanks... :goodvibes

I called CRO this morning to cancel the AKL reservation I made last week. The CM was just delightful! She said Mickey wanted to know why we weren't coming to see him in September. :rotfl: Apparently they have a screen that demands a reason why the guest is canceling.

I asked her about a pin code, and still nothing. We again got into a conversation about why, when all my information is correct across the board, I never get any email or mailings from Disney. She was as baffled as I am. :confused3

I have two questions for you know-it-all... I mean KNOWLEDGEABLE Disney people... :rotfl2:

1. Can you tell me any reason why I can book a CL room at AKL by itself, or with a 1-day base ticket, but the WDW system will not allow me to add Deluxe Dining to that package? It won't let me add ANY dining to the package, actually! Just curious...

2. I already checked into costs of the Deluxe Dining Plan vs. DDE discount and know that the dining plan is better for what we will probably order. Would it make sense, or is it even permitted, to use our DDE card for the alcohol that will not be covered on that plan?

Elizabeth :yay: for getting your ADR's!

Elin I like your new signature. Your Sept. plans sound wonderful!

Deb bummer about the shirt, but I am sure Vicki's daughters will love it!

I just wish I was still their size so that I could wear it!

I knew that, but I had forgotten. Last year since 1900 PF was closed Citrico's was open for dinner all 7 nights. Now they are back to their regular schedule of being closed on Mon & Tue.

Is your room ressie for at least 3 nights? That is the ONLY reason I can think of for not being able to add dining.

Yes, you may use your DDE for anything not covered by your dining plan. For example, we ordered a side of asparagus at Le Cellier and were able to use DDE for it. I have also used DDE to cover drinks that were not included at Boma and Citrico's. Be warned though, that you will still incur the 18% tip on those items. I know several people on the Restaurants thread have said they don't typically tip 18% on a mug of beer from the bar, but if you use the DDE that tip is automatically added.

Elin I like your new signature. Your Sept. plans sound wonderful!!

Thanks, Janet! The signature is going to be a work in progress, I think. I have so many photos that I have taken over the years that I love. I am shrinking them down so that I can do an ever-changing panoramic view of WDW.

I am hoping that the September trip will be as much fun to take as it has been to plan!

:rotfl: I hear you there, Vicki! But how nice of Deb to know that there is someone out in DDA Land who will love to wear it!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning,

Sorry about the shirt Deb, I'm sure it will go to good use though.

Elin, I guess I'm not very knowledgible because I don't know any of the answers.

Congrats on the ADR's Elizabeth, I'm waiting on the signed paperwork from work before I make our ressies.

I'm on my way out to purchase some more green food, today is the local Mardi Gras parade so I bet the store is going to be a madhouse between that and Super Bowl parties.

The room reservation is for 4 nights. :confused3

Thanks for confirming what I thought to be true as far as using the DDE discount on top of the DDP. I am pretty sure that we tip more than 18% on just about everything, so that is not a problem! :rotfl:

You are knowledgeable in other ares that help us all out, Debbie! No worries there! :thumbsup2

I hope the shopping trip is not to painful...

Elizabeth- I have no idea why he went into it:confused3 I just hope that he is able to maintain the lifestyle he is accustomed to.

Elin- Your trip is sounding like heaven. I would really love to go back to WDW in Oct (it will be our 10 year anniversary :lovestruc :scared1:) but I know it ain't happening! I'll just live vicariously through you and Bob.

Jen- I am so glad you are ok after your split.

Tammi- Glad you enjoyed a nice dinner.

What else did I read, I can't remember. I was up til 1:30 working on our photopass pics. I stopped when the site decided it had enough. It was moving along until that point though.

We just finished up breakfast and I need to get moving on some :laundy: Eric is about to make wings for the Superbowl party we are going to. I don't think that we will actually stay for the entire game. My aunt is starting the party at 3pm. So I figure we'll go, chat, eat and catch a few minutes of the game then leave.
