DDA Chapter 3

Ok, I sewed my first outfit for myself! :lmao: Actually, it only required one straight seam down the back as it came off the bolt like this. You just buy two inches more than across the chest. I was looking for anything with animal print and ran across this. They had about 4 or 5 other types. They also had shorter ones for little girls.

Becky, DD19, says that I have to have straps (and I agree - the disadvantage of not having much on top). I haven't decided whether I'm brave enough to wear it to Animal Kingdom or whether it will be my swimsuit cover for the pool and water parks.

Now for the question: What do I do for straps. The bottom doesn't need to be hemmed because it is a finished edge. However, I can cut some off the bottom to make the straps and then hem it. Or is there something else that I could do for straps?

Hi,
I haven't had a chance to catch up. I was in bed til 10am!
Still feeling not so hot. The girls had off today so at least i didn't have to do the mom's taxi thing today.

I have work tom'w so I am going to try & get an early night again so I can go in.

Anne Marie, I think it is time for antibiotics!

Vicki - What a cute dress! I have no clue about straps.:confused3 I have seen straps at the mall that are like interchangeable bra straps (clear, glittery, etc.), but I don't know if you have to have a certain type of bra to put them on. (Meaning you would have to be able to find the "clip" part for the strap to attach to.) I don't know if something like that could be anchored to the dress or not.

Lindsay...

Thanks for the info!!!! Do you remember what your stateroom number was?

we looked at that last night!!! We are thinking of doing ribbon(they suggested that on the card) straps and using some of shorter lengths for shirts for Cassidy. We didn't see the leopard print....Cassidy is going to be jealous!!!:thumbsup2

One of the ladies on the DISboutiques thread gave me something to think about. She said that I could cut off even more material and make it a top to go over black shorts. I'm thinking that might be a cool idea. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions, decisions! I like this creative stuff!

I hadn't thought about looking at the shorter stuff for shirts. When I saw it, I was just thinking little girl dresses. I'll have to take a closer look at it.

If you want some leopard print, I'm happy to pick some up. Tell me how much you would need and I'll get it.

I'll ask Cassidy...thanks!!

I thought it was a great price.....until I figured out how Cassidy and her "girls" would need  But still not horribly expensive and they had some great fabrics to choose from.

Was yours marked down? Ours was down to $7 per yard. Yes, it's sad. I only needed a yard (so sad).

ours was priced by the inch......29-49 cents depending on the fabric.....so $12.20 to just under $21. Like I said not too bad espescially on the lower end.

Hi, Chris! Nice to see you again! Sorry about the snowboarding. That's got to be a bummer for the boys.

Are you looking forward to the game this weekend?

Sounds like it! Well, I'm hoping for a good game for you and all the other guys! I'm making buffalo chicken dip for DH, along with cookies and other munchies. He and several other guys in the neighborhood are getting together at one house for the game, while the wives get together for chick movies at another house. I've got the cookie dough ready for that one. Not baked cookies, mind you, but a bowl of dough.

Hmm.

DS's school had their production of Peter Pan today. The tickets were $3. We don't allow DS to carry money at school unless he needs it for something specific. When he mentioned the play I asked him if he needed $3. No, he didn't want to go. I argued with him about it this morning in the carpool line - I wanted him to take $3 in case he changed his mind. No, no he didn't want to miss class and have to make up the work.

Well, his Language Arts teacher said anyone without a ticket would have to go sit in another classroom so he mooched money off of 2 other kids so he could buy a ticket! :headache: I told him I am angry and embarrassed. After this if there is some sort of thing during the school day that requires admission I will FORCE him to take cash with him.

Other than that he had a good day. I was worried about his homework since he had to stay until 5 PM for band but he just has to do his nightly reading and summary. He is reading the 6th Harry Potter book.

John has a hand held Garmin. Unfourtantly when he types in our home address, it wants to take him to another development with the same address. When he passes that development it resets itself for our development, but wants to to go a couple miles out of the way, through yet another development.

Also there is the bridge it wants him to cross that is no longer drivable, it been out for years. John says its not the Garmin's fault, its whom ever typed up the directions for the satellite.

I'm with Glynis....we have 2 Garmins and love them!! Easy to use and works very well This is the one I have.....I bought it from buydig.com...which usually has great prices.
