Yay, Jennifer!! Keep on going!

Bernadette - How's the foot doing?

I'm sorry that the concert wasn't up to par, but it sounds like most concerts around here. Hunter had his band concert tonight. There are only 20 kids or so in the 7th and 8th grade band. They are learning and I recogized the songs :thumbsup2 Hunter did well on cymbols and base drum :thumbsup2

Colby sang with his class last night and they did well too.

I'm glad that you and Abi are so much happier. I just wish that it could have happened years ago.

gosh, I hope you can hold off a little longer:wizard:

I forgot to say that Abi signed "Joy to the World" with the choir (and the rest of the ASL classes) that was beautiful. Though there was a young man next to Abi who had no clue what he was signing so Abi was giving him dirty looks.

Abi has taken to ASL like a duck to water and is a beautiful signer. I am hoping that she is able to get an exception when it is time to apply for colleges because ASL is not a universally accepted foreign language credit.

You all are right, I wouldn't have Cassidy or Abi without Jim but I now know for sure why I wasn't blessed with more children.

Good morning, DDA!

Theresa - I hope Abi can get the exception! ASL is a wonderful "foreign" language, and one that is needed more and more! At my dad's theater, they have special performances that are signed. If a deaf person comes, they order the signing tickets, and it is so cool! Last time we went, I spent more time watching the 2 signers, than anything else. More and more theaters are doing that, too!

Elin - Pretty picture. Is that what you saw this morning? Any luck on the plowing? Be safe getting to your lessons, etc.

Today is our bowling Christmas party. We will do a gift exchange (all presents go on a table, and when you get your first strike, you get to pick a gift), eat lots of yummy treats and "bowl for turkeys!" I've never won a turkey, yet, so maybe this will be my year!!! Fingers crossed for me, huh?

Meanwhile, Alan finished the 2 rooms in our basement that were damaged by a flood, so we are spending tomorrow putting them back together. If we can get it all done, I plan on bullying my dad into spending Christmas with us. He is stalling on making a decision, even though my sister said he could stay at her house. I really think he hates to stay at their house since her husband keeps their house temperature set at a chilly 66 degrees! Dad gets really cold in their basement. Our house is better set for him, not to mention that the fireplace is right by his room, so he gets all the heat from that! Wish me luck!!!

Glynis - that is what I saw out my patio doors this morning. It was pretty, but not it is too darned cold and snowy for my liking. I would gladly send it all to your kids for Christmas! Good luck with finishing up the rooms and getting your Dad to come stay with you for the holidays!

The girls are excited to watch Yes Virginia their is a Santa Clause cartoon tonight.

Tammi-I bet you're having a great trip!

Jen-when do you go?

Jennifer-glad you are still hanging on!

Theresa-glad you & the girls are happier!

Deb-hope you're feeling better!

Becky-hope you're feeling better too!

Elin-hope your resceduled recitals go well tomorrow.

Gllynis-hope your Dad will stay with you. A chilly 66? We have ours set at 60. How do you make your cake balls?

Bernadette - How's the foot doing?

Overall very well. It feels so much better than the right foot did-in fact the right foot hurts more now than the left foot. There is some discomfort with the pin. I saw the doctor this afternoon and tried to get him to take it out next week but he says 2 weeks. It is still very itchy-not the wound but the outside of the foot. He saw the rash there and was concerned about that and put me on an antibiotic to be safe. The warnings on the antibiotic don't sound fun-can cause diarrhea which can occur weeks to months after taking. I told the doctor that my right foot was still very painful and he once again said it takes up to 12 months to heal. He did say maybe he should have me get PT. I'm not sure that will help but I would try it.

I hope you get your Dad to stay with you. Did you win a turkey?

I think I finished shopping today :cool1: Snapfish also reprinted the photos that never arrived and expressed them to me so I can finally get our Christmas cards in the mail tomorrow. I feel like things are finally coming together. Cleaning is on tap for this weekend. I probably should cook, but I'm trying not to make sweets since we don't really need them and Chris and I would be more likely to eat them than the kids anyway.

Elin-hope your recitals go/went well today.

Deb-yay for being ready for Christmas.

We got the tree decorated and my santas up today. DH is even putting the empty boxes back away right now. I just ordered prints from Target to use for Christmas cards. I chose "same day pickup" so hope that is really true and I can pick them up later today.

I want to go to Target today anyways. I had purchased Emma the Ramona DVD at Target a few weeks ago for $13 and this week they have the blu-ray with digital copy for $17.99 so I figured it was worth the extra $5 for blu-ray and digital copy. And I have a coworker who wants to get the DVD which is no longer on sale (it is $19.99) so she'll by my DVD for $13 and be very happy.

Target is right near JoAnn's so I think I'll pop in there too.

I just need a quick 15-20 minute power nap before I go out.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Well, I didn't win a turkey, but I came really close! I was 6 pins away from winning one! Maybe next year!

We've been working on our basement all day, and are now getting ready to take a break. The guest room is done, and wonder of wonders, my dad has agreed to come spend some time with us and some with my sister over the holidays! Thanks for the good thoughts! He needed that kind of prodding!

We are taking the kids to a small community south of us, Spanish Fork, where there is a GINORMOUS light display. I'll take some pictures of it, as it's really spectacular!

I can't believe that it's one week to Christmas! My boys are taken care of, but I've still got one or two things left to get the girls. I hope I can get it all done!

Glynis - I am glad your Dad has agreed to be with your over Christmas!

Good Morning,

Hope everyone is doing well.

Today is my last day off before Christmas so I had better make the most of it.

My daughter has cancelled her surgery that she was supposed to have Tuesday, the doctor's staff is the most incompetent I have ever seen, so I advised her to find another doctor, she sees the new one tomorrow.
