Debbie, I love the Disney quilt that you are making! It is amazing!

Deb, good luck with the interviews! I could use a "grown up" job, too. Or at least more hours at my current type of job. It sounds like you have some good ideas for the birthday party. I can't believe that they will be 8 and 13. It seems like yesterday you were talking about Nick turning 13.

Jennifer, that is exciting that you saw the girls! I'm glad everything is going so well.

Good morning, DDA! I'm so glad that it's Friday, but I know that the weekend will go much too quickly. At least the kids have Monday off to make it a bit longer.

Good morning, all!

Deb - Sounds like things are happening for you, job wise! Fingers crossed that you get the job you want!!!

Jennifer - Congrats on seeing the twins again! Isn't it amazing!?!

Heidi - Congrats on the new baby!!! Big boy!

Things here are going quite well! Katie took 4th place in the academy Mock Congressional hearing, which is a huge portion of her history grade this term, so she's beyond thrilled!!! She also managed to build an edible volcano yesterday (pictures on fb). So, life is good for her!

The other kids are all doing well, and Timothy just keeps us all on our toes!

I'm hoping that you are all doing well. Make it a great Friday, and a great weekend!!!

Just a quick check in from school. Teaching 7 & 8 grade math today. A little rusty, but making do. Still waiting for an interview time. Off tonight so we can hang as a family

Thanks everyone.

Glynis yes all of her children were big. Her first was two weeks late and a little over 10lbs (and they still had to induce) so the doctors for the others never wanted her to go late again, so they induced her for each one.

I'm home from work. I'm still waiting to hear when my interview will be next week. I really need to know to coordinate my work schedule for next week. I'm tempted to call, but don't want to be a pain either.:confused3

So :rolleyes1 I'm dreaming about my vow renewals in Hawaii in 2012. We definitely plan to do it. I've been watching Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings. I think that I've fallen in love with this dress
!B2CPENQ!2k~$(KGrHqR,!jIE)rIKUijmBMg7We5UFg~~0_12.JPG

I don't dare order it as I have no idea what size I'll be then (hopefully smaller) or if my taste in dresses will change. I think the length and shape is perfect for a beach wedding. I know that I don't want a ball gown or full skirt dress.

Just stopping by to say hi..had a blast at the phillies game tonight--and my voice is practically gone! leaving bright and early tomorrow...i am bringing my computer, so ill check in!

Deb - That dress is beautiful! I think it would be perfect for the beach.

Jen - Glad you had a good time! Have a good trip.

Glynis - Congrats to Katie! I'm glad that her projects went well.

Heidi - Yeah for another baby!!! I'm glad all went well.

We're about the same here. Deva and I met a friend for lunch this afternoon and then did some quick shopping. Tonight the kids had a "no sleepover pajama party." Glynis, thanks for the idea! It went well, the kids had a lot of fun, there were no tears about leaving and I'll get as much sleep as my own baby deems (which often means 7:30 or even 8:30) not a few extra early risers. Tomorrow, Deva and I are going to meet some high school friends of mine at a local winery. Most of those coming I haven't seen since we graduated so it should be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the one person I most wanted to see couldn't come after all due to her husband's work schedule, but hopefully we'll be able to get together the next time she's in town.

For now though, I'm beat. I think it's bedtime as soon as Terra's show is over.

Good morning, DDA! It's off to the cross country meet again today. (I'm beginning to sound like a broken record.)

Beth I hear you. We're off to bowling soon. Work at 4:30. Working 5 nights a week plus some days at school sure eats up time, but I'll take it for now. No word yesterday about next week's interview :confused3 I guess I'll call Monday. I probably should have called late yesterday afternoon, but the weather was so nice we started putting up Halloween decorations which I haven't done in years. The deck looks pretty piratey. I'll do the front of the house with the remaining Halloween stuff. It will be like a Mullet, business (Halloween) in the front and party in the back :lmao:

It looks like it's been a busy day for the DDA. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We had the perfect weather for the cross country meet today. Now I'm getting ready to play chauffeur for Laura and some of her friends. They are going to a corn maze.

We had a GREAT time today! The winery was nice and relaxing and very laid back. Nine people that I went to high school were there and only 2 of them have I seen since we graduated. Ah the blessing of Facebook for finding old friends. We had a great time talking and catching up and most were still there after I left after 5 hours. Deva slept through 95% of it and let us play "pass the baby" all day as everyone soaked up the new-baby-joy since most of them are done having kids and one is getting married soon with hopes of having kids. We're already working on plans for a repeat event with hopes that more will be able to join us wherever we meet up next time.

Good morning all!
Mom and I are having a good time in Dallas--just did some shopping yesterday and went to bed early!
Today is GAME DAY!!!! Im so excited and ready...We are leaving the hotel at 1130 for the 315 game ---the rangers are playing and its going to be so crowded!
Hope you all have a good day!

Good Morning. Another pleasant day here. The sun is shining, but it's not too warm. At least no rain. I finished the outside halloween decorations yesterday after bowling. We were busy last night at work. I'm working 5 nights in a row, 2 off then at least 4 in a row. There are lots of people around for foliage though we are definitely past peak. People plan their trips a year in advance so it is hit or miss if they actually see the pretty colors or just muted browns. I suspect it will be at least a week, if not two before the tourists go away. It would be great if they all tips appropriately, but that is not the case. Last night I had a party of 4 leave a $4 tip. There meals were prefect, water glasses never empty etc. :confused3

Deb,
Did I read you are planning a vow renewal in 2012? I am telling you girl our lives are in sync!!! Having your renewal in Hawaii is going to wonderful!!:goodvibes Our 20th is next year & we were planning (well just thinking ) about having a renewal ceremony in Disney. However the cost was just too much for what they give you. So since we joined a new parish here we decided to renew our vows in our new church. Last week we looked for dresses for my girls which is hard to get too matchy-matchy since they are 5 years apart. My men will wear suits (navy or black..probably black) & I am looking for a dress but not floor length...more just below the knee or tea length. After the ceremony we'll go have dinner at this Inn near our home.

Wow, we are in sync. We've found the many hotels in Hawaii offer wedding/vow renewals as a package, very reasonably priced. There are also companies that specialize in doing them. You can pick the location and how detailed you want the ceremony, flowers, photos etc. It's too early to book anything as we don't have dates nailed down. I know that we want it on the beach and the men/boys will all have leis. They'll probably do linen pants a button up linen shirts. I think I want a bouquet that has the same flowers as the leis. I looked at shorter gowns, but overall I think the floor length has more of the look I want for the beach renewals. I think Chris will give me a family ring for my right hand as I don't want to replace my original rings. We've talked about getting a family ring rather than a mother's ring for a while as it will make the stones symmetrical. I think we are going to get matching band of some sort, maybe family name or some sort of pattern or crest for Chris and for the boys. I want them included in the ceremony and my boys all wear rings anyway. We think it will be a nice heirloom to pass on to their kids.
