DDA Chapter 26

Hi, everyone! I'm home. Had a great weekend at dad's house. We saw 3 great plays. "The Diary of Anne Frank", which was a real tear jerker! There were people sobbing by the end of it. I'm talking big, burly farmer types. It was very touching! "Greater Tuna" which is a hysterical 2 man show. Katie and I laughed ourselves sick over it! And last, but not least, "The Adventures of Pericles, Prince of Tyre." This is one of Shakespeare's least known and very seldom produced plays. It was a great production, and I can now say that I've seen all of Shakespeare's plays!

It's nice to be home, though. I'm glad that I didn't miss any of our DDA baby's arrivals. Hang in there Tia and Kristine! Your d-days are coming soon! I'm thinking of you and praying for you each day!

Deb - Sounds like you had a great time this weekend! Loved the pic of Chris and the car! Tell him it looks great, and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Chanon - Alex is so cute! Don't you love blue frosting??? My sister made a huge birthday cake for the twins and their cousin that is 9 days younger than them, for their first birthday, and on the cake were 3 small cakes for the birthday kids. Leslie was covered in hot pink frosting, Mary was covered in purple, and Shaun in orange. It was darling, but the clean up was not so fun!

Terry and Stephanie - I'm so jealous of your trip! Please keep the updates coming!!!

Theresa - How are you doing lately?

Jennifer - How are the twins treating you? Remember to take it as easy as possible!

I am really feeling them move espeically Sabrina. I see my OB wed. still working 12hr shifts. I am going to check with her on wed. and see how long she recomends doing 12s or switching to 8hr shifts. Don't want to say it to loud but the "N" is getting better. Having braxton hicks ocasionally. I am working on getting all the christmas gifts together.

My great aunt and uncle were in town Friday evening and Saturday. They were supposed to stay until today, but were getting very road weary and wanted to head back to Virginia earlier. Since Mom and Dad both worked Saturday afternoon/evening, they decided to head home after lunch Sat instead. After that, I took the opportunity to hit a few stores and finished getting baby stuff. I've got a few more diapers I want to get, but otherwise, I think we're pretty good.

Then...We had a BIG storm on Saturday night that fried our router cable or something in there. Seemed to fry between the router and surge protector so not really sure how that happened! After several hours last night, Dad finally got us all up and working again, but it wasn't looking good for the router for awhile. In the end, I think really that it just started working again while he was upstairs because he came down shocked Rachel was online. Then he still had to fix the rest of the network.

Yesterday we met Erin's family for lunch and then went to do the big bed exchange. We took up bed springs and a mattress for Kaylin from here and were getting my cradle and crib, or so I thought. Unbeknownst to me, we were actually only getting to bring home my cradle because they aren't getting the headboard and bed rails until today. Yes, one day later. Apparently it wasn't okay for Kaylin to sleep on the box and mattress for a night or two and instead I've got to wait for them to get the rest of the stuff home tonight, have time to put the bed together, have someone off of work to bring me the crib and then wait for Phil's next day off to be able to set it up. Phil has today off so that was his plan today - to get the whole room set up.

So, we ended the afternoon with a major blowout. In the end, I decided that I didn't really care that is how it ended, because as sorry as I am for their loss and everything else that's happened this summer, I had to stand up for myself and put an end to the way she treats me on a fairly regular basis (which has only gotten worse lately, as somewhat expected due to the situations). My disagreeing with how things were working out forced her to admit why she really didn't want to do it as opposed to the passive-aggressive route we've been stuck on and now it's out how we both feel. She may not talk to me for a long time to come, but there's nothing I can do about that except pray that it resolves sooner rather than later.

So, Mom gave me the keys and I sat in the driveway until I was fit to drive and then Terra and I spent some quality time together at the bookstore. Then we came home and put together my Disney World puzzle that I've wanted to do for two years. On the baby front, for now I think we're going to set up Kristi's crib and just change them out whenever mine is finally returned. That way we can utilize what might be Phil's last day off before Deva comes in a productive way and I won't spend the week worrying about how to make all of this work. The cradle is helpful and since it was built for me as a baby a definite sentimental need, there's just too much maneuvering that needs to be done to make our room fit everything it needs to fit.

For now, I think I'm going to go grab a little more sleep! I just have the 2yo this week and while she came an hour early today, she also came and went right back to bed so I'm thinking that's a good place for me. It's been a long and stressful last 4-5 days and I'm ready for a break.

I'm glad that you finally got your feelings out. You've been hinding them for so long. Hopefully she'll realize the error in her ways and make ammends.

I was called in to sub this morning. I had one of the little downs syndrome girls and she did not do anything that I asked her to do. She cried. Threw temper tantrums and downright refused to do anything. We spent time in the principals office trying to come up with strategies as to how to handle her. Nothing worked. We had decided to just let her color instead of making it worse. That's when I got called to the nurse's office for Colby. He had a slight fever and a tummy ache. I ended up having to leave to take him home. I can't say that I hated that day to come to an end. Colby came home and spent some time in the bathroom followed by a nap and he says he is feeling much better. He certainly has a little cold so that may have factored into it too. As of right now all 3 boys are quietly watching the Suite Life on Deck. I need to leave shortly to go to work at the Restaurant.

Here's a picture of Chris with his Street Rod yesterday:

That is so cool!!! I love old cars.

Good morning, DDA! Okay, good middle of the night? Anyway, just a quick hello before I head off to the hospital. Spent the first half of yesterday (Monday) with 30 minute apart minor contractions and then from 6 until I went to bed about 15 min apart. Woke up around 1:15 feeling stronger and maybe about 10 apart. I've got to get there in time for antibiotics so it looks like we're off to hang out there for (what is hopefully) the duration. I'll post soon or at the very least text Jennifer. Woohoo!!!!

As I am up for my 20th trip to the bathroom to say I am a little jealous is an understatement!!

Good luck....may you have a smooth and easy delivery!

Nice car Chris, what color are you going to paint it when its time. (for some reason whenever I see the picture, I keep picturing a nice blue.)

 for new a baby.

Hange in there Kristine, it till be your time soon.

Tia I hope your delivery goes quickly, I am thinking of you!

Kristine I had a dream last night that you had Jenna :goodvibes

Chris actually read this thread yesterday to see what people posted about his car :rotfl: I was at work and he couldn't wait for me to get home and tell him what you all thought :lmao: He is planning on painting it blue. Probably with black flames. Of course he has a ton of body work to do first. He wants to chop the top, lowering it about 3 inches and channel the body over the frame. It will give it a "tougher" stance.

We also learned this weekend that Nick likes the 1967 -1969 Camaros.

Deb - for some reason when you kept mentioning "streetrod" I was picturing something along the lines of a classic corvette/camaro/mustang/racing type car. I was shocked to see that it was an old timey kind of car. Nice! Can't wait to see the finished product!

44 days out, I'm not packed yet, but just started pulling things together. :goodvibes

If you're like me you've been picking things up for a while and probably have everything you need in the house. Packing probably won't take too long ;)

Deb,
Tell Chris the car looks great..& painted blue with flames sounds so cool. And I thought my hubby was cool when he fixed the washing machine!:lmao:
