I have a Disney Christmas sing a long book somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and send you anything that might be unique in it.

oh how cool. I wonder if I can find it on amazon or ebay. I would love that as the girls like to sing christmas songs.

So far things are okay with B. He is home and I don't even know if they had to post much is any bail. Chris looked everything up in his handy-dandy police book and his belief is that because the gun was not loaded, it was in a case, and the car was locked that they shouldn't be able to charge with a felony. The backlog of misdemeanors around here is so large, he also doesn't think they'll do anything about the trespass. So, now we wait and see. They are probably working on any warrants right now and it will have to go through a processor. Chris things that once they get something to the processor anything the police want to charge will be made to a lesser offense. So fingers crossed it all plays out that way. We have both advised him to get a lawyer now and give him the story while it's still fresh. This isn't something he wants to skimp and go at alone just in case. I guess E has told him that once the police release the gun that it doesn't come home again. Don't know if she'll cool down on that before then, but for now she's adamant. Chris just told him "there's nothing ANY of us can do to help you there." I know that for now she's just so angry about the whole situation, especially since she was so against him going out that day to begin with.

Bernadette I was looking at the site you gave me and they have a free pattern for receiving blanket and burpies. I think I might let Olivia go to the store and pick some fabric and make the twins each one a blanket.

That would be cute! Maybe she could make Virginia a pillowcase too. You should be able to just google "how to make a pillowcase" and find free tutorials online.

One word of advice on the burpies don't buy terry cloth unless you want a mess-the stuff sheds horribly and gets everywhere.

Anne Marie-hope you're continuing to recover nicely!

Karen-hope your Dad's recovery goes well!

Tia-yikes about your BIL. Can't blame your sister for being upset. Hope things work out well for him! Sounds like Deva could arrive anytime time now!

Kristen-hang in there.

Deb-Happy Birthday! Sure you're having a blast in your new camper!

Glynis-hoping you're doing OK!

I think that's a great idea. Terra made Deva a blanket for the shower and she is so proud of it! It turned out really cute. :goodvibes She picked out a pink, green and brown Snoopy fleece and a green version of that "bubble" type fabric that a lot of baby blankets have lately. Then she used a hot pink blanket binding. I did the pinning of the layers, but she did most of the sewing part. I also made her one with a tie dye Snoopy fleece, purple satin and rainbow/tie dye blanket binding and she's so happy with it. :cloud9:

I had my final post op xray yesterday and my dr said that I was a "good healer". He said the xray looked great. My foot is still swollen and painful if I do too much. I even had a coworker drive me to work most of last week. I drove myself yesterday so I could go to the dr and go out to dinner with friends. By the end of dinner my foot was very swollen just from sitting there.

At this point I can't say that the surgery was worth it but I'm only 7 weeks out. I'm hoping for continued improvement. So hopeful that I scheduled to have my left foot done on 11/22-the Monday before Thanksgiving. I can't do it before the board of directors' meeting on 11/12 and the next date after 11/22 is 12/13. I would rather be out of commission for Thanksgiving than Christmas. This should allow pleanty of healing time before my May trip. If I don't do it in November I think I would have to wait until next summer or November.

If I don't see improvement before then I will cancel the surgery.

One potetial problem is that the VP of Finance tore his Achilles tendon at the company picnic Thursday. He needs surgery and will likely be in a cast for 6 to 8 weeks and lots of therapy after that. I don't know if that will change the budget process at all. He had just picked up his brand new BMW on Wednesday night and drove it to work for the first time Thursday. Guess he won't be driving that for a while. It was his right foot.

thanks for the tip, I think the burpies used flannel.

That would be minky fabric.:thumbsup2

Would love to see photos!

I haven't sewn anything since May. I'm itching to make something again-think I'll make thank you gifts for my coworkers who drove me. But wasn't sure I'd be up for standing there to iron or cut out the fabrics. I want to make a few Christmas gifts and if I stick with the Nov surgery date I better get started.

I'll definitely take some! We were kind of rushed so the stitching isn't exactly perfect, but I still like them! Actually, it was my first time using the zigzag stitch extensively and it took some getting used to lining up all of the layers took some work (and failure ;) ).

The minky looks like it might be tough but I found it pretty easy to work with. It does not shed.

I always wondered what it was called! I was surprised how easy it was to work with too. Not bad at all. The satin I used on Terra's was flannel backed satin which made it easy peasy to use as well. Just "stuck" to the fleece without slipping. Very nice.

So I downloaded the patterns for the burpies. It says to buy a pack of the white clothe diapers and then sew the fabric to one side. I was given a ton of receiving blankets from a friend and was thinking of using some of them to make burpies by cutting them in half. Then sewing them together. should get 2 out of each blanket depending on how big I made them.

I've never used flannel backed satin but I think making say PJ's out of it is a bit of a challenge because you sew it with the right sides together-so satin against satin and it slips around.

Thanks Bernadette, glad you are a "good healer" too!:cool1:

I overdid it yesterday...did all the laundry, cleaned the bathrooms, went to Target, then to Walmart, & out for lunch. I came home, was fine & then I got what felt like a "stitch" in my side. :sad2: Last night a needed a vicodin to go to sleep. All we did today was go to the library & are having tacos & family movie/game night. :dance3: & I am peachy.

We had fun today. Chris got lots of positive attention. We had cheesecake for dessert tonight. We decided to hang out here tonight instead of going to the dance. Last night's dance was lame

Tammi and I just had a delightful evening out. Thanks, Tammi!!
