Yay! I'm glad to hear that you had a great start to the year. My kids go back tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it but trying to put on a good front for them.

Thanks! Miles has the first day at a new school jitters. He barely touched his breakfast and felt queasy. Laura is still in a bit of denial, but all the summer homework did get finished. I'm feeling a little lonely, but a group of friends is taking one out to lunch for her birthday, so I'll be entertained in a while. Plus I have a few things to do for preschool yet.

I have been researching our geneology (mainly for my kids). I have been able to find my ancestors on my mom's(father's) side going back to a guy named Hugh who was born in 1620 in Yorkshire England. Amazing!!!
I am stuck on my mother's (mother's side)...I can only get back to 1840 & then the trail goes cold.

Dana(fathers) side is from Ireland & that's kind of hard since his families records were mostly destroyed by the english in the early part of the 1900's.
But his mom's side (Italian) we have found alot of info on.

The plan is to put all this into a binder for my kid's. My mom is also getting a kick out of it.

That is very interesting. I've often thought about doing family research, but I haven't tackled it yet. I think my uncle has done quite a bit. I should ask him for what he has.

I was right with you, wrong with her. She is very happy the baby is a girl and wants lots of pinks/purples, girly things.

I dont blame her. With the girls they had a hand me down carseat that was blue. Now that I am having to buy 2 car seats I am thinking the car seats will have lots of pink in them

I have aunts and cousins that have done a lot of research on my families. My mom collected it all (including pictures) and created a binder for all of us kids and her grandkids. It is really neat to look at.
