so tomorrow my brother and Jeff are going to move furniture out of the girls room and prep the room for painting. trying to decide if we should paint the closet doors or leave them white. I am thinking we are going to pain the base boards and the door frame pink or maybe leave them white. The walls and ceiling will be purple.

I think the way you describe sounds perfect. I'd leave them white.

Good morning, DDA!

Apparently, I'm startng my crazy busy week with a 4:15 wake up call. Tried and tried, but just couldn't get back to sleep. It may just be a nap with the babies day today!

That sounds like Alyssa's room. Her walls are light purple and the trim/baseboards/doors are a very pale pink. Ceiling is white though. I just can't bring myself to paint ceilings.

Tammi...that's funny, I feel the same way. I think my father ingrained in me that a ceiling must always be white. The kids and I were watching a home improvement show yesterday and in several of the rooms they painted the ceilings. Kids thought it was great since they never saw a colored ceiling. I was apalled as one room was dark brown. The whole thing! Looked like a cave.

My parents did that too! I think I would feel closed in if the ceiling was painted. Especially if it's a dark color!

How are you doing?

After taping and painting and having the tape cause problems with the painting, I can certainly see the appeal of painting everything the same color. We actually decided to try a non-white ceiling in the living room/dining room, and I like it. It is pretty close to white, though, and lighter than the walls.

Jennifer, I think I'd leave the closet doors white, but I'm sure it will look great either way.

I feel "eh". Had on and off contractions the whole weekend. Grateful to be at 32 weeks but wishing to make it further. So I basically vacilate between happy and cranky on an hourly basis. The whole bed rest, multiple shots a day and the constant worry have taken it's toll. Don't get me wrong we are thrilled....it's just been so hard.

We moved Matthew into his college apartment yesterday in the pouring rain. It rained heavily for pretty much the entire drive there and back as well. The apartment is the top floor of a 1920's era house. It could be absolutely gorgeous if restored, but it's in an area of all student housing. It's not bad; it's just student housing. It feels different with him having an apartment vs. leaving him in the dorms. Much better in some ways, but more final or something.

Laura did not go with us, because her boyfriend's family had a bunch of people over for dinner, since he will be leaving for college tomorrow. So on top of the fact that she left her summer work for AP Literature too long and that she really doesn't want to go back to school, she's going to be mopey about him being gone. It's going to be a fun couple of weeks around here. I tried to convince her to do the work as soon as school was out, but...

The schedules and teacher assignments should be mailed this week. I haven't been able to buy Miles many school supplies yet. The supply lists are on the school district website, but the lists for the three different six grade teams are drastically different. Since we don't know what team he is going to be on, there isn't much I could buy. Once we know, all the sales will be done and everything will be completely picked over.

After reading this, I think I'm a little cranky myself. ;) I have so many things that I should be doing, and I just don't seem to have any get up and go today.

Have a great day, DDA!

Kristine, I hope you can make it a few weeks more! It has to be getting very old.

Becky, I will be thinking about you tomorrow!

I can totally see why you would be cranky. It will all pay off shortly though. princess: (I know that you know that, I'm just reaffirming it. :goodvibes )

are ceilings and walls are all a light beige so the ceiling must be painted. I was thinking the closet door and frame and base boards all a light pink, but thinking I will leave them whute and just do pink accents with the shelves and stuff.

yeah for 32 weeks. Hang in their you are still in my prayers.

Good to see you around Kristine. You have been in my thoughts.

All of our trim is white in the house. All ceilings are also white. I can't get into the colored ceiling thing, I guess I'm traditional.

We were able to get's Nick's schedule fixed for this year and found out that he won't be able to take driver's ed until next summer. That means no vacation for us in the first 5 weeks of summer which means our AP's will have expired. Now I'm hoping to do a week in April. Of course the week the kids have off is Easter week so there are no deals to be had and I may be working anyway:headache: I figure it can't hurt to book something then I can cancel if we have to.

Heck, I vacilate between happy and cranky myself so I think you're doing great! Yeah for 32 weeks!!! Miss Jenna must be very happy with the way you're hanging in there so well. :grouphug:
