The PSA for the day:

IT'S HOT OUTSIDE! STAY INDOORS IN THE A/C.

Our temp....103, with a heat index of 121. This is insane.

Jennifer - I wish I could stay on here and chat with you. Nothing worse than being bored and finding nothing to do. I have compositions I need to work on or I would stay.

It is 103 here already with a heat index of 121. It is stifling.

good luck on your compositions. stay cool

We went to Potomac Point Winery to pick up my wine club order and there was hardly anyone there. They had an outside wedding scheduled for this afternoon. I wonder if the bride will consent to having it moved indoors!

I'm going to go home and crack an egg onto the sidewalk, just to see what happens.

silly me only brought one book to read today to work. I am on the AP unit and we have 3 patients total for 2 nurses. I have already finished my book.

Hope the rest of your shift isn't too long for you!

So the question is, does the point come when you just can't tell the difference anymore or is it noticable hotter than the days when the index is 110? I've been trying to decide if I notice anything after a certain point except just extreme heat.

I'm going to go home and crack an egg onto the sidewalk, just to see what happens.

Dinner time!

I guess we're headed to Bread Co. (Panera) for dinner in a little bit. Rachel just got home from a week on a World Changers mission trip in Georgia and that is her request. Apparently the only "good food" she had all week was the Chick Fil A box lunches yesterday and pizza on Wednesday. Our picky eater doesn't always eat well when being served by random people with whatever it is they choose to bring (some homecooked, some "school" food, etc).

I don't know the answer to your question concerning when one no longer notices how hot it really is, Tia. All I can tell you is that here in Fredericksburg today we set a new record: 106. I don't know what the heat index was at that point. I can tell you it is damnably hot.

At 8:30 p.m. it is still 103 and feels like 113.

Phil is walking home from work in about 20 minutes at we're still over 100 index as well. I've told him several times to call me and I'll come get him, but so far he still says he's walking. :confused3

Definitely hot in Philadelphia today...it was crazy! We got there at 2 to go on the field tos ee the players which was the promotion they had today..it was so hot people had sweat dripping of of them. When we got to our seats for the 4:10 irst pitch, it was just crazy hot with the sun just beating down on us. I came prepared and had 8 frozen bottles of water with us in a small backpack and my uncle brought mister fans. In the 3rd inning, we started getting phone calls--apparently my uncel and i were on tv! so that was pretty fun. It was definitely a fun, but VERY hot, day

Jeff and I went to see Sorcerer's Apprentice. We liked it. Went to an AMC theater where they had coupons on facebook for $1 any size sodas and popcorns today only. Mom watched the girls. Then we had Bar b q chicken at moms. Just got home and bathed the girls.
