Good morning,

Lots of errands to run today. I finally got my house in order & all laundry done from when we were away. Amazing how many clothes 5 people can wear in 10 days!!!

Nick has his first girlfriend  He is so excited that she said yes. He asked one girl out last year and she said no and another this year that said no. Needless to say he is super happy that this one said yes :rotfl: I'm not sure if I'm ready for this, but like it or not the time has come.

Wow! That is sweet. Good luck mom! I am not ready for this part of life either.

Debbie hopefully the surgery will help. :wizard:

Jennifer sorry the doctors still don't have many answers.

Congrats Nick. :goodvibes

Deb Colby's teacher needs a smack down, I can help. :rolleyes1

Tammi very true. :rotfl:

Elin is correct, a big blanket of :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug: :wizard: for everyone.

I like this! Maybe the 3 of you should pack up and head to NM? :confused3 I think you need to take charge and make a change in your life, and what a perfect opportunity! :wizard: :)

I agree. Maybe this is what all 3 of you need. Plus your just a little bit closer to me.;)

Colby's teacher is driving me crazy. The woman was sure that he did not have ADHD, but I decided to have him tested and guess what...I was right. Now she is concerned that he is overly emotional and too clingy to adults. Mind you she has been complaining all year that he clings to adults. An she is sure that he is developing an eating disorder because he was excited to have lost 5 lbs. The poor kid has been overweight his entire life which he was aware of (look at how skinny Hunter is) he has also had kids at school call him fat. So yes, he is happy to have lost 5 lbs, but that is not the reason that he isn't eating much at school. The ADHD meds cause loss of appetite for about 6 - 8 hours while they are working. He starts eating right after school and eats all evening, it's not like he's becoming anorexic :sad2: He ate 3 pieces of pizza for dinner and ate his lunch when he first got home from school. I really think I'm going to have to set the teacher straight as she is really getting on my nerves.
Who would turn down are Nick. I am so not ready for that stage. Luckily I have a few years yet I hope. Of course it helps that I am Homeschooling so not to many boys around us.

What is up with Colby's teacher. Is she the one that wanted to hold him back last year? Is this his last year with her? Good luck dealing with her.

Thanks for all the hugs ladies. Once dad starts Chemo then I get to try to figure out a new work schedule for me and Jeff. I don't think I will get to see much of my Husband. Dad will not be able to be around little kids if his White Blood Count is to low as he will be at risk for all types of Viruses little ones carry. And those viruses can make him real sick. My mom is my daycare when Jeff and I are at work.

She said yes to what?!?! Are they going out on a date? Good luck with this stage of life! :faint:

He wants to take her to the movies next week. He had danced with her at the dance last Friday night. They seem to be facebooking and emailing at this point. She doesn't have a cell phone so he can't text her :lmao:

This is the same teacher that was talking about holding him back last year and being sure that he was just "young for his age" I think if she spent more time on actual work all of the kids would do better. Give me a break, 5 days and hadn't had enough class time to observe him. :sad2:

Good luck working it out. You have to do what's best for your family.

Elin - Do you know what happened to Keegan on Food Network? He's not hosting the challenge shows anymore...

Congrats to Nick!!!

As for the teacher, I would definitely talk to her sooner rather than later! Get it all out there, so she knows where Colby is coming from, and then be thankful that the school year is almost over!

From what I can tell, he's now a judge on most of the competition shows. So, Clare Robinson is the new host. I really don't like her! She's just not Keegan!

I haven't caught a new show with her hosting yet so I didn't know where Keegan went. If he's a judge, I think I'll be OK with that. It'd be a shame to see him leave the Food Network.

He was a judge on the Spongebob Birthday cakes, and I think he was also a judge on the Extreme Villain Cakes. I really liked everything about both those shows, except for Clare! If Keegan is not going to host, they should find someone who is a bit more personable!

I have his conference on Thursday so it will all come out. Unfortunately he is supposed to be with that teacher again next year. After speaking with his Doctor this morning I think I may request that he be changed to a different teacher as her class is not structured in a way that benefits Colby.

Deb-I think it is very cute that Nick has his first girlfriend AND he is actually taking her out on a date. Most of the boyfriend/girlfriend stuff around here doesn't include actual dates. Good luck with Colby's teacher. While I know what the meds do to a kids appetite, please be careful and on the watch out for an eating disorder, with a skinny minny for a brother and the teasing it would be easy for Colby to slip down that slippery slope of an eating disorder.

Debbie-I hope the surgery does the trick!!

Jennifer-good luck working things out with your family....you are always in my prayers.

I know I've missed some so :hug::hug: to everybody

As for me moving down to NM....the short answer is I don't want to strain the tenous relationship I have finally gotten to with my sister and the public HS in Alb. are awful.

Thanks for the great post to ditto! I'm sorry that I haven't been around much. I read, but I don't get a lot of time to comment.

 to you, Theresa! I know that it is going to be hard to have Cassidy so far away. As much as we want them to grow and flourish, a little part wants to keep them always with us and safe, huh? It's kind of strange to be looking at it on this end now and know that my parents must have felt so much the same way.

Tomorrow is Matthew's 19th birthday, and it's the first one that I won't share with him in person. He has a very full, busy schedule on Thursdays with his last lab ending about 8:00 pm. The saddest part for me is realizing that it's just one of many and that it probably isn't even a blip on his radar. Of course, I would never share that with him, because truly it is a blessing that he is thriving and doing just what he is supposed to do. It's just that it is all over so fast for me. He was just a little boy yesterday, I'm pretty sure. It's all good, though...it's exactly the way it's supposed to be. I'm not overly depressed or anything...it will just be a little hard sometimes growing into this new stage of my life.
