Terry - I am looking at photos of very beautiful and happy people! How cold was it?

Tammi - Are you all home? How was your trip, despite the cold?

So at what age does hot flashes start? Every night for the last few weeks I have woken up in a total sweat. I wake up several times during the night to either remove blankets because I'm sweating or to add blankets because I'm freezing. My pj's are actually damp in the morning. It sounds like the start of menopause to me, but what to I know :confused3 Next question is what do I do to stop them :lmao:

Mine started at age 37 after my hysterectomy. I was taking a natural herb for awhile but started reading not such good things about it. So, I just deal with it.

Terry is leaving Columbus about an hour late. She should get to Florida by 7:00. Had she flown direct leaving BWI at 1:40, she would be sitting on the beach having a drink right now, but nooooooooooo, she had to change planes in Columbus. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Keep you posted.

whine, whine, whine,,,,,,blah, blah. blah

I managed to get the toiletries together in ten minutes, what do you need for two days and I don't use much make-up???

Friday morning Hal and I packed in less than 10 minutes. I only had to pack my dress, shoes, two shirts, one pair of jeans, two pair of underware. We each had one carry-on and that was it.

I was saving a dollar and who knew we would be subject to plane trouble with the plane coming from Chicago.????? Besides,,,Hal survived!!!!!

Besides, it was frigging cold down there!!!! I drank on the plane instead.

Why won't I pull the trigger and buy my airfare? What is keeping me from doing so??? It only went up $6.00 from yesterday. If I keep on waiting it will go up more.

Am I afraid of AirTran?

And you whined about my flight choices?????? :lmao::lmao:

It was very, very cold. It even snowed!!! It didn't lay, but you could see it. It was very windy so they moved the ceremony inside. Steve looked so cute, he was crying and so was Michelle.

After my two suggestions of a song for Steve and I to dance to, the one I posted or "The Best of Friends" from The Fox and the Hound, Steve chose Blackbird from the Beatles. He talked to Guenna and she said it was okay. She chose that one for her dance with Hal. It was to honor their Uncle Brad. He was Hal's brother and the kids remember him playing that on his Guitar all the time when they were little. Steve really wanted that song and I just could not say no. So again, there was not a dry eye in the house.

I am so honored, we had so many compliments about our kids. Everyone was so impressed how much fun we all have and how the kids and their friends like being with us. Makes a parent proud. :goodvibes you always know your kids are good, but it just means more when the compliments keep coming from everyone.

Terry - Welcome home, your pictures are beautiful

It's back to work today to see what issues await me, it's way to cold to be leaving the house this morning.

Good Morning.

I've got 2 kids to get to the eye doctors this morning.

Here's an interesting conversation this morning:

Chris "Is it cold out this morning?"
Me "It's 17 degrees
Chris "Wow It's warm out"

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Terry nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

Your favorite uncle lookes like a sweetie. :goodvibes Can I adopt him?

Happy Monday, everyone! Today should be interesting. Katie has had a sore throat (no fever) for the past 3 days. It goes away when she takes Advil or any kind of cold medicine, but Alan thinks I should take her to the doctor if it still hurts today. She does not want to go to the doctor, as today is the first day of the second semester of school. She is in 3 new classes out of 4 today, and really doesn't want to miss the first day with these new teachers. I have to say, I'm kind of on her side, here. Today's the day she'll get disclosure documents from the teachers, not to mention supply lists. I really don't want her to start off the semester behind. Since there's no fever, I'm thinking it's ok to wait a day or so. Any comment???

Other than that little drama, there's nothing much going on here, today. I need to get to the grocery store, but that's about it. It should be a bit warmer here, so that will be good. Not sure if it will be sunny yet, or not. We'll see!

Have a great day, everyone!

Terry -- I'm glad everything went well.

Glynis -- I agree with you. If she doesn't have a fever, she should go to the introduction of the new classes. Can you make her an appt. for after school?

Morning everyone!

Morning everyone!

I'm going to try to do that, Marci. Unfortunately, the dr.'s office closes at 4:00 so he can go to all his kids school functions, so it will be a tight squeeze. Katie's going to call me after her first class to let me know how her throat feels. I gave her an Advil and a Sudafed this morning before she left. Crossing my fingers!

Glynis, I hope Katie feels well enough to get through the day! I agree that the first day of the semester is not a good day to be out! And since she isn't running fever it is probably wise to send her to school so she won't be confused tomorrow.

Terry, very nice pics!! :)

I just printed out the application for the Arts magnet. It is a standard application form for ALL of the magnet schools. We have Open House in a couple of weeks, which is before the first date we can turn in the application, so that will be good. Auditions next month. :scared1:

Good morning, DDA! :cold:

It was 10 when I woke up this morning. It is time for this to just stop.

Happy Monday, DDA!

Terri, the photos are terrific! I'm sorry that the weather didn't cooperate, but I'm glad that everything was great anyway.

Glynis, pixiedust: for Katie's throat. I agree that it's best that she not miss school today. I hope that it gets better soon or that you can get her to the doctor after school.

Deb, can you send some of that "warmth" down here? Though I think it's actually supposed to top 20 at some point today.

I'm trying (rather unsuccessfully at the moment) to talk dh into a Disney trip this summer. Of course, it may be a moot point anyway. Laura was thinking of taking Health and Driver's Ed in summer school. That would run from 7/5-8/13. Cross country practice will begin 8/16 and go until school starts. Assuming she decides not to go to summer school, are the first two weeks of August a lot worse crowd-wise than the last two?

If he really won't go for the Disney trip, I'm thinking of trying to convince him that we should take a week or so to drive to Maine by way of Montreal (or VT and NH). Of course, if we're going to Canada, we'll need to get dh and Matthew enhanced licenses and should start soon. I doubt he'll approve this either, and we'll run into the same problem with summer school and cross country practice.

I'm finally caught up.

Beautiful bedroom and bathroom. I like how you can look at the DDA while you are sitting on the pot.

Sorry for the hot flashes. Mine have not yet started, but I'm sure it won't be long.

I hope the sick kiddos are feeling better.

Lovely wedding pictures. :goodvibes:

Sorry about the deer into the car. Glad no one was hurt.

Yay for new trips!

:wizard: for the crummy moods plaguing some of you.

Boo for science fair. Ours is Feb. 19 so we need to get busy. Nicholas wants to do something with plants to see which grow faster.

I hope that covers everything!
