sounds like you all are getting what we had last week. It was windy, rainy and cold!!

Well, I have an official diagnosis. Apparently my stomach issues are diverticulitis. For now, I just need to take a fiber supplement and avoid any food with seeds and pieces of nuts. When there's an "attack" I'll need to go to the doctor so they can check on the symptoms and probably prescribe an antibiotic. Can't say I like the idea, but at least it's something!

My Dad has this. It can be controlled fairly well with diet

Good Day all.

It's been another fast day here. I'm off to work again shortly. Today is Nick's last day being 13. He's so excited to turn 14. He's planning on having a couple of friends spend the night tomorrow night, of course he'll need to ask them soon The kids do not have school on Wednesday so it will work out well for him.

Well, the results are in from the doctor and while not good, they are not as bad as they could be (I hope).

Dad had prostate cancer 12 years ago, and had his prostate removed. Well, they've found cancer in the tissue in the prostate area. They also found the beginning stage of bone cancer in one of his ribs. That's the worry.

Dad's PCP sent the test results to an oncologist, and dad will meet with him soon (hopefully tomorrow) to discuss options. I'm a little numb, as I was hoping that it would be less cancer as opposed to more. Dad sounded quite shell shocked as well. I'm hopeful that he can get his positive attitude back in line before treatment starts, as I know a positive attitude will help.

Debbie, your poor eye! That sounds REALLY painful!

It's my favorite time of year. Science Fair. DS brought home this huge, evil packet. I HATE HATE HATE HATE Science Fair. And the school now has an "unacceptable" rating for science test scores, so they are REALLY pushing the science curriculum. The Science Fair is just stupid, though. The kids do the same, boring projects from the same books and websites year after year. Everybody knows the really GOOD projects are done by parents, and the judges do not enforce the rules when they judge the submissions. DS started doing projects in SECOND GRADE! He gets it! He knows the scietific method! And we are completely out of ideas. So whatever.

And here all this time, I got the impression that you loved science fair and it was your favorite time of the school year!!!

I am so proud of my little man. Today was the first day of robotics. He got a ride home after, and was here about 1/2 before I got home. He was at the kitchen table, working on his homework. When I came in and saw him, it was like my little boy had disappeared and was replaced with a young man. In the 3 weeks of school he has shown such responsibility, when it comes to school work, being organized, and keeping track of his assignments and what needs to be done. Hopefully it's not a fluke and that it continues. I showered him with praise about how responsible he has been lately, so hopefully that was positive reinforcement.

It always amazes me how kids seem to mature overnight. It is true that they change in leaps and bounds.
